  3. This thread is hilarious. So much indignation in response to a gentle, funny little poke. What makes it even better is that those who were most vituperative in attacking Wotte, not sparing any extreme words, are now so indignant about JFPs post. Full marks Johnny!
  4. Got the right response from Saga though didnt he?
  5. He doesnt need to. 19 points from 15 games will be enough.
  6. I know, its inevitable. just saying a new managers should be given a chance based on performance and results compared towhat has gone on previously.
  7. Some fans judge a manager more by how media savvy he is - says the right things on TV / press rather than what he actually does.
  8. I dont necessarily agree with the idea of marching / protesting on this issue, but if you're going to do it seems to me you shouldnt do the same thing twice. If you want press coverage there has to be a new angle everytime. You need a gimmick or fresh apporach to keep up any momentum.
  9. He is entirely responsible for the club's Flybe sponsorship, paid for selflessly out of his airmiles account with them.
  10. I think you've made a fundamental though clearly innocent error. Thats a local hockey team hth.
  11. No-one on this board does caustic quite like you
  12. Careless omission if you ask me.
  13. Says the principal architect of its decline. Stand up Mr ****ingboringnegativealpine.
  14. Yep. If it was a patient you'd be willing to pull the plug out by now.
  15. Askham is kind to his cat, probably.
  16. Can anyone think of a team climbing the leagues and doing well the old way, ie without a sugar daddy to finance them? Seems like all those who have to rely on their own resources, the big four or five apart, are struggling.
  17. On paper weve got a stronger team now than the first half of the season. A few goals from Saga could make all the difference.
  18. I wouldnt say confidence exactly. More quiet, hopeful optimism mixed with desperation .....
  19. Not necessarily. Plymouth are fading badly. Even if Saints dont go on a reasonable run (and I think we will) it will still be five teams (Norwich, Plymouth, Charlton, Notts Forest and us) slugging it out to avoid the three places. Even then theres still 52 points to play for and only 5 from safety
  20. Agree. Why not go the whole hog and bring Branfoot back.
  21. Haunch of Venison. Dont cheat at cards there.
  22. Fair cop. Ive just called SCC (sad I know). The rate in the pound for 2008/09 is .462. ie on a rateable value of £1.6m the current years rate bill would be £739,000. Still an awful lot of money for a struggling club to find.
  23. It may not be as high as £2.5m but I was told a figure of £1.8m some years ago, so I'm assuming it is pushing towards that now.
  24. It is incredibly steep given the premises are mainly only occupied for 23 days a year so the level of council services provided is quite small. No idea when the rates are due or how they are paid.
