I dont think there is any way on God's earth he will appoint Adams. Apart from having an appallling track record he doesnt fit any of the criteria - lower lleagues manager, not household name, good history.

Background influences the decisions we all make. However people from similalr backgrounds often have totally differing views. Of two people growing up in poverty one may be a communist and the other an entrepreneur. Attributing pretty nasty, given 20th century history, motivations to Markus, without knowing anything about him or his personality was pretty low IMO.
