  1. Let us all see then Stuey. Post up a scan of the docs. Who pays for this wonderful free service?
  2. No idea. Agree seems odd.
  3. Actually its you who dont understand them. You still seem to think that its not a loan to the fan from a third party finance company. Sorry. It is.
  4. If that logic held true no clubs would offer season tickets. They would all try and get more cash by selling tickets game by game only. Most of the people on here who want the instalment scheme claim they wont buy a season ticket now and will only cherry pick and go to much fewer games - which means less revenue. I dont know what the change of heart is about, but its not about screwing the fans.
  5. Of course, the weird conspiracy theories with Cortese determined to **** off the fans are so much more likely.
  6. Almost certainly is day to day. All I know is that a credit scheme that many thought would be offered now isnt. One reasonable explanation, no more than that, is that the debt averse owner put a stop to it when he heard about it. Im not saying that is right or wrong.
  7. No point. Most of them arent in crayon.
  8. Talking of thick......hello. Ill type slowly. Maybe the Liebherr family dont believe in debt. You know, the owner. Cortese's boss.
  9. Probably not. But as far as I know they didnt provide the credit facilities for their customers to buy their products either.
  10. Just what Ive read on the web. The family didnt believe in taking on debt in building their company. Growth funded from profits.
  11. Ah the insightful Stu. Pretty much the only one on the board who cant see what tedious prima donna he is. A not a very bright one at that.
  12. Havent you got that arse about face? The instalment plans are a form of expensive credit. In many cases the cost of the credit exceeds the discount achieved by buying a season ticket - so making it pointless. Liebherr's family built their company by not taking on debt. Maybe he doesnt believe its right to encourage fans to take on expensive debt to pay for consumption for no benefit. And if so he is damn right.
  13. Thats the trouble with ice on the road.
  14. I imagine any cuts to public sector pension benefits will apply to new entrants, although the amount contributed to the scheme by current members might go up. Thats the usual way of dealing with it in the private sector. Dont think they'd be mad enough to try to cut pension benefits retrospectively.
  15. Bristol at 38.5% is certainly abhorrent.
  16. Its not harsh Nick. Stu is trying to pretend the schemes arent credit when they self evidently are and then insulting people who point out the bleeding obvious. He isnt doing fans or club any favours. If he wants to snap then occasionally people will snap back.
  17. If you really cant read the application forms of the companies whose schemes you are championing then you are even more challenged than it would appear.
  18. http://www.bcfc.co.uk/staticFiles/12/38/0,,10327~145426,00.pdf Read the second page of the Bristol City pdf for last season - 38.5% APR. However since I know you like to disregard facts in preference to what you want to believe, I wont hold my breath for an apology. Yes it can be up to the club how much interest is charged depending on whether they want to make a profit from the scheme ala Bristol, or subsidise it. Doesnt change the fact that in most schemes supporters have to pay 19.9%APR and the company also make a factoring charge to the club -ie charge both sides. Nice business if you can get it - especially if there are enough web mongs saying its a good deal for everybody.
  19. Wrong, wrong and not true. http://www.premium-credit.co.uk/customer_faqs.html http://www.zebrafinance.co.uk/seasonticketappform.pdf Which part of point b in the customer declaration isnt clear?: "The finance agreement is between you and Zebra Finance and the football club plays no part in credit decisions".
  20. Actually he didnt mention the unions in either of those pieces. All he stood up for was Britains rights to continue to run huge and unsustainable budget deficits if and when he wants.
  21. Maybe the club just dont want to do it. Maybe they think its morally reprehensible to sell supporters credit which charges up to 38% interest apr. Maybe they are right.
  22. And that is Stuey's last word on the subject......
  23. Girlfriend had a Renault clio 1.2 for years and years - 180,000 on the clock before she scrapped it, so wouldnt necessarily be afraid of some of those high mileage ones on autotrader. Average 45mpg, insurance group 3, very reliable, and better on those occasional longer runs than the really tiny cars like the Micra or Ka. Also you can get 5dr versions - big consideration if you are putting kids in the back every day. This one 2001, 46,000 miles and well specced. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201023360943511/sort/priceasc/usedcars/maximum-mileage/up_to_60000_miles/maximum-age/up_to_10_years_old/price-to/1000/model/clio/make/renault/radius/1501/postcode/bn68qb/page/2?logcode=p edit: the bugger has put the price up to £1,194 from £1,000!
  24. My dad's family are Catholics from West Belfast. Gerry Adams used to work for my uncle (as a paper boy). They also have a romantic notion of a united Ireland and whether they actually want it to happen or not depends almost entirely on the relative strength of the economies in the North and South at any one time. Like most people, whistful aspirations usually come behind paying the bills and going on holiday.
  25. Arguably we could get away with a very small army, coastal navy, no airforce but a **** off nuclear deterrent.
