It took 10 years for the Russians to realise they had lost in Afghanistan and just leave. Russia IS being gradually weakened, the vast stockpiles of Soviet arms are starting to run out and sanctions are having a cumulative effect. Eventually the people around Putin will calculate the 'gain' isnt worth the losses.

Not a bankruptcy expert but it doesnt smell right and I wouldnt take the risk when there are many good companies out there. A friend used these people, made in Germany and you can specify exactly what you want in terms of frames, U values, double or triple, noise reducing, laminated or not etc. cheap too https://www.windows24.com/

Apparently...

I'm good with just a cash payout.

The whole speech was like that. Over an hour of rambling nonsense, random shit he comes up with because he wants to avoid talking about policy. Apparently by the end even the die hard fans at the front and on the podium behind were checking their phones and taking to each other

Obama is apparently favouring an open convention where multiple candidates stand. I think Harris is good enough to win against Trump, but she's prone to brain freezes, just like Biden oddly enough. The argument I guess is do you go for someone who can beat Trump or look for someone who will win for eight years not just four.

Exactly. Huge difference between allowing an 81 year old man to finish up the job for a few months and voting him in for anther four and a half years

No idea if true but I did see an interview with a US commentator who was ripping him apart for being unprincipled with no genuine convictions or beliefs. He basically says whatever was going to be best for him.

Spoils the nonsense narrative he worked so hard on.

Nah!! worth a try though

This Harris / Trump video from 2020 is trending again. Worth watching. Can you not embed videos here anymore or am I being dumb? https://x.com/i/status/1815095062512230855 https://twitter.com/i/status/1815095062512230855

Verbal who used to post here always vociferously defended her but she's been clearly Tory leaning for years, albeit she used to hide it better. The other issue with her is that she doesnt get the difference between analysis / summarising issues / stories and opinion. She loves to give her opinion but not so keen on actually informing the viewer.

That's little orange Donny out then. I agree rapist, felon, fraudster and wannabe King for Life more important qualities than white male.
-
The fact that her ratings mirror Biden's indicates she is being judged as part of his administration rather than on her own merits. Being the candidate will mean she is assessed for how she performs under close scrutiny for four months. I've seen her be awesome in interviews and also gabbling and uninspiring. I guess it will all depend how well she rises to the occasion / crumbles under pressure.

Is this you?

It's not as if there is a great gulf to bridge - Trump only leads Biden by around 3%. Whoever it is simply needs to be moderate and communicate well and they'll win relatively easily imo. Harris is more popular than people give her credit for - its not totally unlike Starmer. People dont love him but thought he was better than the other choices.
-
It will change everything imo. People didnt want to vote for either Trump or Biden.

Crowdstrike turned out to be a pretty apt name.

That's what I'm thinking, probably a state actor, presumably Russia or China, but deafening silence.

I don't think that's a given. Biden and Trump's polling figures have been remarkably close for years - less than 2% until very recently and largely unaffected by events you would think would have a major, major impact - like convictions and shootings. What happens to Kennedy's 9-10% of the vote will be pivotal and a strong Democratic candidate should hoover up most of those. https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/polls/president-general/2024/national/
