  1. You think governments shouldnt tax and everything should be free?
  2. You know blowing pollution away from its source doesnt make it magically disappear right? What happens on the days the wind doesnt blow - hold your breath for 24 hours till it picks up again?
  3. Pretty much any petrol car after 2010 - like this one https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-details/202308180946819?sort=relevance&advertising-location=at_cars&body-type=MPV&fuel-type=Electric%2CPetrol%2CPetrol Hybrid&include-delivery-option=on&maximum-mileage=80000&postcode=EN10 6FG&price-from=&price-to=2000&year-from=2010&fromsra
  4. Its not a one shot and done thing. Reduction in pollution and increases in fuel efficiency are incremental. My 2006 diesel has a particulatate filter but doesnt meet current standards for nitrogen oxides. Pretty all petrol cars made since 2010 meet the ULEZ standards. So get a 13 year old Fiat Punto and no ULEZ charge. These kinda desperate attempts to make a big deal out of what the ex saviour, hero and glorious leader Johnson proposed is lame.
  5. He's hilairious! good spot!
  6. I read an interview with one of the consultants. He came across as weak and not insistent enough. Ultimately the care of those babies was his responsibility and he should have acted more forcefully and escalated outside of the hospital. There is a slightly anomalous situation in hospitals in that nurses are responsible to the Director of Nursing (not medical staff), the hospital consultants are responsible to the medical director and neither are directly responsible to the CEO. It's set that way, ironically, to ensure patient safety and encourage disclosure.
  7. A friend was a manager at Rampton when Beverly Allitt (the previous serial baby killing nurse) was sent there. He said her room was decorated like that of an 8 years old with fluffy toys and posters. The acts are evil but when you meet some of these people its impossible to marry them up to the person you see.

Surprised they managed to hit the moon and didnt blow up Baikonur tbf
  9. I very highly doubt that she wasn’t given that information. The girl had many many emergency admissions for a chronic condition. It’s impossible that at every intervention for a life threatening condition no one abided by standard procedure. It’s more likely the mother didn’t have the skills or money to implement the changes needed
  10. It’s rare that anyone can say atmospheric pollution was the primary cause of an individual death. What is clear is that the higher the levels of pollution then the higher the premature mortality rates in any given population. In Britain that is thousands of people dying every year for avoidable reasons
  11. Duh. Havent really thought it through Nolan, qu'elle surprise. And if you're far right then the current right wing Government seem centrist and the large majority of the voters, based on voting intention are 'Corbyn / Momentum people'

  13. Conspiracy theorists are falsely claiming that 15-minute cities would restrict residents to their neighbourhoods. https://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/15-minute-city-urban-planning-idea-conspiracy-theory-misinformation-b1062266.html
  14. Well thats you and your mate who wants to be able to drive his van free of charge through central London. Most Londoners dont want that. Only 42% of residents in the central boroughs even own a car and of those that do the large majority dont use them daily, they rely on trains tubes and walking and biking. Chocker roads makes that slower, harder and more unpleasant.
  15. Your reasoning has really dropped. By your logic why not pave the lot. Then we could have unlimited unconstrained traffic flow to a place no-one wants to go to anymore.
  16. True, it needs to be done well and skillfully. Most of central London would be a far better place with more pedetrianisation because the distances between places are quite small and there are tubes and trains everywhere. I also think you can close of a lot of streets in residential areas across the country to through traffic. But reducing capacity of trunk roads when there are no public transport alternatives is crazy
  17. The main benefit of the ULEZ is a reduction of traffic volume which leads to a better physical environment. Many major cities across the world are restricting traffic in ceratin zones, either all week or on weekends. Having walkable cities leads to a lot of benefits, including left field stuff such as knowing more neighbours, reduction in crime, more independent shops rather than chains. I think it is fair in part to say ULEZ is a tax, but the purposes its being raised for I agree with. https://citymonitor.ai/community/neighbourhoods/reimagining-pedestrianised-london
  18. It doesnt matter does it? You both look bad. IIts like two drunks arguing in the street over some meths both with pissed pants and stinking to high heaven claiming "he started it". Stop stalking each other and go and find your own carboard boxes. You dont have to camp out next to each other.

I know there are lots of war videos but somehow the raw nature of this one, scared kids in a park witnessing a double missile strike on a hotel housing their summer camp hits home more.
  23. Correct, its the Epoch Times.
  24. It probably is partly that. Biden is past it and Trump is Trump. I’d probably prefer somebody else too
  25. Ah fair enough . But still I find slightly odd
