Saw Lambert play when Rovers were beaten at home by Brighton at the end of last season He reminded me a lot of James Beattie in terms of his physical presence .....large, capable of making a nuisance of himself and very good at getting himself in the right place ..unlike Beatts, however, he also looked as if he was interested in making a lot of effort! Great signing I shall sleep more soundly tonight

Excellent post. I had exactly this arguement with another Saints fan whilst away on holiday when the Pinnacle deal was still live. IMHO they never had the money and were "chancers". They very nearly destroyed the club by playing a game backed with blanks. The two people who lost most in this saga were Leon Crouch who ended up saving the club at the point of catastrophe and MLT who was drawn into the hype. I still hope we might make the play-offs... but yes the saga has probably cost us a season's progress

Agree I also think Rasiak is not lazy ...he looks lazy to some but, whilst apparently being lazy, he gets himself into some perfect scoring positions. His postional nouse is what we pay him for IMHO ... and if we can keep him he could potentially score over 30 in this league
-
Possibly because his potential is masked by his weight at the moment
-
Hilarious that Southampton Echo poll shows that over half Saints fans think we need defenders!
-
How many players do you think we will sign tomorrow?

Indeed Mostly also containing loads of sarcasm similar to your post :-)

Paterson is off if he gets the chance

OK - we are in League 1 on -10 points I appreciate that AP is looking at new signings but let's be realistic ...given the current line up (and even allowing for some astute signings by AP) those who think we will be on -1 when we beat Swindon on 18/8 might want to brace themselves. It's going to be a much longer haul than that and will get very stressy along the way. Still it wouldn't be Saints without that would it?!

TBH I am neither suprised nor bothered that he's said no What does surprise me is the amount of faith people seemed to put in him as a Strike Force Messiah when it looked like he might stay.... he simply aint that good

I contemplated those no hope losers Real Madrid

Small crowd but good atmosphere

Best news today Now someone work on Rasiak
-
Lets hope Molyneux is off - he is truely Sh*ite
-
God I hope we keep him In League 1 he will score bucket loads - watched him drift inside the defenders today to score both his first and second goals - quite the best we've got for positional play up front
-
If the new owner and his staff are paying for their tickets ..so surely should everyone This is the new Saints at year zero Time to move on ...and up
-
He will be gone before the start of the season
-
Not the only one no I can remember the sitters he's missed as well as the goals he has scored
-
Are you all mad? John has scored some good goals But FFS! He's missed some total sitters with a skill the even BWP found hard to emulate
-
Agree - Molyneux must rank as one of our worst mistakes in years ..and that's up against some stiff competition !
-
The one that got us into League 1 in 5 easy steps

Felt generally encouraged today but Pardew has a lot of work to do We start on minus 10....Play-Offs our best hope I think ...anything better a miracle...mid table realistic unless Pardew can get the right players in ...will be interested to see what, if anything, he does with Euell and John Oh Yes Spiderman is a class act ...made an obvious difference today when he came on .....he will be awesome in League 1 if we give him his chance...as will Mills Kelvin is God. Fact
