  1. Come on Alps, not like you to beat around the bush. Do you like the guy or not?
  2. So, to paraphrase Rolf Harris - Do we know what it was yet ?
  3. I was thinking along the same lines. Take all those predictions with a pinch of salt, usually nutjobs talking ********, then with 35 days to go this blows up (pardon the pun) almost out of nowhere. ! Think I'll just bother with the minimum payment on the credit card bill this month
  4. SHOCK NEWS Finding myself in total agreement with Turkish
  5. as opposed to out of them????
  6. All depends. Seeing someone else get a kick in the testicles is always funny. Your own, on the other hand, is another matter.
  7. Not at all, just a chronological order or words that I recall being referred to as "the word".
  8. First the "N" word, then the "C" word, now Spurs are being threatened over their fans use of the "Y" word. Just don't get this one, I've always understood Spurs fans use of it as being all inclusive, not an insult. Guess some people won't be happy until a whole alphabet has been banned. How long until Skates and Scummers are deemed offensive ?

    Clive Dunn

It surprised me that despite his character's appearance he was one of the youngest actor's in the Dad's Army cast. Can't be many of them left now. Ian Lavender (Pike), any more?
  10. Not saying he should or shouldn't go. Just tongue in cheek speculation, the number of times the club have surprised us with transfers none of us - or the press - saw coming, just nothing would surprise me any more .
  11. ............. if the Club announced that results simply weren't good enough,a change in management was required to take the club forward ............. ..........and kept Adkins but dispensed with the services of Les Reed?
  12. Sky bviously think the two teams will be battling it out for a Europa League spot by then bout of optimism>
  13. If Rob Stickells is the same Rob Stickells I used to go to games with many moons ago (and have since lost touch) I would imagine if a big man swore and looked in his direction, bottle or no bottle, he would have been very frightened indeed.
  14. Thought I was being taken to see him at The Mayflower last week. Turned out to be Sarah Millican. Good, but not what I was expecting
  15. Saw him stop for a photo with a young lad outside Kingsland/Chapel corner. Thought it quite ironic he was posing for it right in front of a burger van
  16. Didn't notice the incident so can't comment on it specifically. But what's worrying is that from reports he clearly did react to something he heard/saw from the fans behind him. It was from the home end so I am guessing it only came from a small minority, but now fan's of every team in the country know we have a keeper who is easy to wind up. How much will he be concentrating on the game when a whole end behind him is chanting "dodgy keeper" and worse. Professionals have to rise above stuff like that and ignore it.
  17. Bearing in mind outside the top 6 everyone is capable of beating anyone, we can only improve, and we have money to strengthen - allegedly - in January, the 33/1 for a top ten finish shown on the same site looks a far better value bet
  18. One thing is for sure. None of us on here "know" for sure how much per seat it would cost to extend the stadium, what interest will be charged on any borrowing (if any) needed to do it, how many years that the expense will be written off over, what market research has been done to gauge demand (if any) for extra seats, what future plans (note plans not guarantees) the club has to ensure that any future seats (not to mention the existing ones) will still be popular in years to come and at what price range, what ancillary services (i.e hotel, conference rooms, leisure etc and the income it provides) could also be added if extended. The other thing that is for sure is that every club that HAS extended or moved will have known all that before they've done so. Question. How many have extended or moved and NOT achieved a higher average attendance once they'd done so?
  19. Far be it for me to suggest deals being done or any such like, but just a week after we finally send them The One Eyed Hooky Monster .....
  20. Wasn't relevant in the Fulham thread. Would we have sold any less in that game if the stadium was bigger? No Would we have sold any more in this game if the stadium was bigger? Yes
  21. Then you'll have waited to long then. You will be a) losing substantial income from those that can't get in, and b) risk losing those peoples interest as they find alternative entertainment in the meantime. Any stadium that achieves occasional sellouts AND averages 90%+ capacity already has the potential for extending. No-one expects to 100% fill their stadium with every event . We've done that consistently in the PL, at the Dell, at SMS first time round and already looks like repeating it this season.
  22. Can't be arsed to read the whole thread so may have been mentioned before but if, and I mean a really big IF, the forward thinking plan for the club is that in the not too distant future we aim to be regularly competing in Europe, would it be more prudent to extend before we get there (also bearing mind that at present interest and building costs are low) and incur some empty seats in the short term, or wait till the dream is achieved and lose out on income by not having seats available that could be regularly filled. We are all basing assumptions on what we have been in the past and where we are now, Cortese and Co seem to have bigger plans for the future than that (and from what we have seen already, each step of the plan achievable to date has been achieved so who knows where they can take us)
  23. Yes they are both bigger clubs than us - at the moment - but their present grounds do NOT "do them fine" http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/chelsea/9247695/Chelsea-plan-1-billion-Battersea-stadium-QandA.html http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/spurs/The+Stadium/new-stadium-plans.page Neither sell out every week.
  24. .................. after being locked up for 6 years. First thing you want to do is get back home to the missus and catch up for lost time. Guess THIS GUY was a tad disappointed.
