Luckily it was before the invention of CGI so as soon as someone comes up with cctv images (sinking and/or Olympic switch) we can call it indisputable proof.

Didn't watch much if Iran v Nigeria but spotted this bit myself. The camera-work amazed me at the time http://www.buzzfeed.com/mrloganrhoades/world-cup-cameraman-impossibly-finds-the-pretty-girl-in-the

No it didn't it only mentioned the playing incident so only covered being aware of his playing career. For what it's worth, I totally agree with your first statement, good players don't automatically make good managers. Bobby Charlton and Bobby Moore always spring to mind for me, whereas Ferguson and Wenger had mediocre playing careers.
-
So first we should differentiate between playing and managing careers. Then you say someone who wasn't aware of and/or couldn't recall his playing career can have no valid opinion of him as a manager. Arrogant contradiction there.

Don't need one. They're just for the gratification of the media, usually a competition to see who can ask the most banal question, and who probably have more interesting things on their plate at the moment to be fair. Just sign the papers, issue an announcement and let him get to work.

Thanks for the special offer tip off. Mine arrived yesterday. Already decided possibly the best £35 I've ever spent. Looks like genuine offer too, still £119 on the shelf in Tesco

For a song to be loud enough for him to hear it has to be a catchy tune that spreads quickly. That's going to prove awkward when it has to stop and pause at the end of every line whilst it gets translated for him

So conversely the club should never make any major signings after the deadline because the ST holders weren't expecting to see them on the pitch? Say we go and buy Bale and Ronaldo next week. Will you happily voluntarily stump up some extra cash? You pay to see the game, there is never and never has been a guarantee of who will take part or what tactics will be employed. 50% of what you get to see is the opposition - what if all 19 decide to come and park the bus because we are such a great side? What if we aim for a European place and our star striker gets a long term injury 3/4 way through the season. Football is a game of uncertainties on and off the pitch, if you can't accept that then you really shouldn't be buying a season ticket. I'm sure the club is well aware that of people don't like what they see they might not come back. But they aren't stupid enough to give any guarantees .

Guaranteed admission for 19 home Premier League matches. Nothing more. Nothing less. Same as every season.

Must have missed something. Is something happening? ..... or not happening?

How will you be voting on Thursday in the Euro and local elections?
Wurzel replied to TopGun's topic in The Lounge
This. Exactly this. I see the MEP vote as a protest vote, the only legitimate way of showing the strength of feeling towards EU . -
MoPo se quedará, pero debe hablar Inglés en el futuro. Los servicios del traductor ya no son necesarios

Can't help with financial know how but have you tried looking at results for other clubs of similar size. I they all have that sort of figure (or worse) it must be normal football business accounting practise. If ours sticks out like a sore thumb it's time to worry

What is the most amount of Saints players in an England WC squad in the past?
Wurzel replied to TopGun's topic in The Saints
This week's 442 has chart of what clubs supplied players for England WC squads. We have 3, 1 each in 66, 86, and 02 so Paine Shilton and Bridge. Had Keegan already left by time 82 started then? -
Still can't work out if you a) actually believe that b) think if you repeat that enough we'll believe it c) are simply trolling for the sake of it. No-one except you would consider the RX/AF/DT kit "striped". It may have had narrow white panels down the side (in varying widths depending on shirt size) but essentially it's a vertical white panel - not "striped" Centenary kit was shadow stripes, visible in close up at the right angle but indistinguishable at distance - not "striped" Hummel kit had striped sections in it but if asked to describe it 99 out of 100 wouldn't call it a "striped" kit http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Southampton/Southampton.htm

Walker out of World Cup, room for Clyne?
Wurzel replied to Golac's Iron Gonads's topic in The Saints
What constitutes a surprise though? He's mentioned Clyne before by name as someone they've watched many times at club and England U21s and are well aware of what he can do. -
What is the weirdest own goal scored at a Saints game?
Wurzel replied to kwsaint's topic in The Saints
That's the one that fits the "weirdest" criteria in the title for me. You do it an injustice though. I went for a dump as he "cleared" it, it went so high I was back again before the ball dropped over the line. -
Not first time that sort of thing has happened down there. http://www.theguardian.com/uk/2006/may/13/transport.world

RESTORE OUR RIGHT TO PRIORITY TICKETS FOR HOME GAMES - PLEASE!!!!!
Wurzel replied to 42's topic in The Saints
Christ do you STILL not get it. Example 2. Man can NOT get 3 tickets, 1 for him, 2 for his mates. He can get ONE, each of his 2 sons can get ONE each. If those two sons want to go then there are no tickets for his mates. If they don't want them then yes they can pass them on after they've been purchased and there's not much the club can do about that. Example 1 . Under the ridiculously contrived scenario any decent Dad would give the returning son his ST for the game But an equally plausible and much more likely scenario for example 1 is ST holder has a ManU fan who discretely asks him to get him a ticket. Under your example the club would be equally obliged to sell him the ticket (assuming he didn't say it was for an away fan at time of purchase). Fair? Anticipated answer from you, ManU fan could get ticket by attending one for a previous home game. No he couldn't guarantee one it depends on the take up, same as Dad+2 in example 2 can guarantee any. -
RESTORE OUR RIGHT TO PRIORITY TICKETS FOR HOME GAMES - PLEASE!!!!!
Wurzel replied to 42's topic in The Saints
That's the one memory playing tricks, was thinking it was one of ours but it was indeed that Millwall fan, think the original thread must have got linked to on every teams forum. That post was a transcript up to where he realised his mistake, think there was much **** taking and apologising after that as well.. Unintentional comedy classic -
RESTORE OUR RIGHT TO PRIORITY TICKETS FOR HOME GAMES - PLEASE!!!!!
Wurzel replied to 42's topic in The Saints
You are looking at it from the wrong angle. It's not who is buying the ticket it's who is attending. Mr 42 already has his his seat via ST . Mr Someone (x) and Mr Someone's Mate (Y) have been before, so they are entitled to buy a ticket. Note they are entitled to 1 each, not X can buy 2 although he can of course purchase Y's on his behalf, what Y chooses to do with it is not our concern. Then we have your friend, let's call him The Chosen One. He hasn't been before, but for no other reason than he knows you (a ST holder) he should be allowed to jump the queue? Explain to us again, this time in a way that makes sense, how that can be fair. Of course if TCO had been to a game previously, either with you or alone, he would be in the same position as X & Y. If this whole thread raises any point actually worthy of discussion it's why did they do away with the membership scheme? -
RESTORE OUR RIGHT TO PRIORITY TICKETS FOR HOME GAMES - PLEASE!!!!!
Wurzel replied to 42's topic in The Saints
Yes of course ST holders count. But they've already got their own ticket. He wants to be able to buy one for someone else. The "fans who have actually attended games" want to buy their own ticket. They aren't looking to buy one for someone else as well. Of course they should get priority. Why should someone who hasn't been to a game all season get priority of someone who has (whether it's 1 or 18) just because they happen to know a ST holder? 42's whole argument seems to be confusing the issue with buying tickets for cup ties. Then, of course ST holders should get priority, but still only for their own seat. This reminds of a a poster who started a thread a few years ago, can't remember who but I'm sure someone can remind us, who had a ST but had been working abroad, and got really upset on here complaining that when he came home the ticket office wouldn't sell him his own seat (not an extra one) for a normal league game. It took several people pointing out he'd already paid for his own seat, why was he trying to buy it again when the penny finally dropped. At least he had the good grace to admit he'd been a total plonker. -
Genius if we were playing them in a cup tie. But they're so far below us they're just not relevant any more. And we try and say they're obsessed? Embarrassing

RESTORE OUR RIGHT TO PRIORITY TICKETS FOR HOME GAMES - PLEASE!!!!!
Wurzel replied to 42's topic in The Saints
There's a simple foolproof and fair way for any ST holder to guarantee a ticket for friend or family for any game whoever the opposition is. Buy 2 Season tickets.
