We better start looking over our shoulder regarding that one. Over 4000 at Eastleigh today. 'Ampshire has 2 teams now

Good comparison pics. I (I see white and gold) also fiddled with contrast and brightness settings yesterday and eventually came up with an even deeper blue and black dress that I could see. I can also see the (paler) blue and black version in your adjusted pic. It's clear that it's a very poorly exposed picture but still doesn't explain why different people see that same photo differently. Surely we should all see the poorly exposed one. There's some logic in your compensation for the bright light on the top right theory except there seems little difference in that area on both of your pics. I've often wondered how we know that someone else is colour blind. How do we know who see the colours "correctly". As for dogs only see in b&w, how do we know? (or has QI debunked that one?) Still baffled.

Cheers, still none the wiser then Weirdly I just accidentally scrolled upwards on this page, the bottom of a blue and black dress appeared which was white and gold again once I stopped scrolling and looked at complete image

White and gold. So what's the explanation then? Saw same pic on fb this morning with dress described as black & blue. had no idea what is was on about.

All the "big nations" who are against it should form an agreement, not to cause a fuss, agree to take part, then deliberately lose all their qualifiers. A WC played in empty stadiums where the likes of Iceland, Bhutan, Nicaragua, Guyana, and dare I say Scotland are among the top seeds will be a huge embarrassment let alone a financial disaster to the corrupt ****s.

So have sensible school leavers not explored all options in other years then? Of course they have. So it's comparing like with like (it's not comparing this years applicants with previous years enrolled) and finding that despite the increased "fees" - which aren't fees at all in reality - the numbers are up. How that can equate to bollix in your mind I've no idea.

Heard the headline so many billion figures for the previous deals before but never seen them broken down to individual matches. Approx £6.5million PER GAME !!!! How the hell do SKY make any money from that?

Due to a shortage of space, at Nottarf Krap the seats reserved for blind spectators are located in an area from where the pitch can not actually be seen. Apparently there is a 23 year waiting list for season tickets in that section.

Thanks all for suggestions. Looks like 3 days won't be enough, we'll have to do it again some time. Like the idea of wandering around side streets picking random cafe/bars so Latin quarter sounds perfect for an hour or two there. Checked the map, looks easy to combine with Notre Dame. Think we'll go for the 3 day travel pass and just hop and off metros whenever it suits us (as I do when visiting London). I like walking around but not too much when time is at a premium. Missing out Louvre was not an aversion to art but more the time scale I'd read that's needed to do it properly, might just pop in and see part of it though. Chartier looks like what Mrs W has in mind for lunch so we'll add that to list. And Montparnasse Tower looks preferable to Eiffel to me, then again the ground looks preferable to both (not that I'm scared of heights or anything). Arc de triomphe, Montmarte, Sacre Cour, Moulin Rouge (from outside , I'm not being ripped off for a show) boat trip, hoepfully time for them all. And Catacombs. love that idea, will have to add them too

We - Me and Mrs W - are doing Paris for 2 nights/3 days shortly. Any tips on must sees or just as important what not to waste time with. 3 day pass covering all metro/bus journeys is about 24Euro which covers about 15 separate journeys if paid individually. Is it worth getting one and hopping on and off at will, or is everything of note within walking distance.? Very pleased she's not fussed about going *up* the Eiffel Tower, just wants to see it. Staying in Les Halles area so Notre Dame, Louvre (won't waste time going in but like the look of that glass pyramid thing), Pompidou Centre(?) all look within 10/15 minute walk. Also, Boat ride, Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, Champs Elyese, Sacre Couer/Montmarte all on our "off the top of my head" list. Hard to gauge walking times between them all, google maps will give a time but no allowance for the "stop and look" and "ooh that looks like a nice cafe/wine bar" factor en route.

Think I've just learned Taiwanese for WTF! [video=youtube_share;CJnHsieKgtg] Actually thought this was fake at first but there's already several on youtube from different vehicles. Not sure if it was good work by the pilot missing the buildings or sheer luck

Steady speed in a straight line has to be safer than constantly changing lanes. If I overtake car A on an empty motorway (yeah those were the days) I'll pull back into the left hand lane. But if I can see that within 30 seconds I'll be overtaking another car B AND my speed isn't holding up anyone else I'll stay in the middle lane until I've passed B, if yet another car C is less than 30 seconds ahead I'll stay there and so on.

That short replay linked above isn't long enough, you needed to see it from a second or two earlier. Watching it initially and on subsequent replay it looked to me that RB was clear favourite to comfortably win the ball. He saw where the opponent was and momentarily slowed. My initial reaction was that if he got there first he'd put it out for a throw but slowed to ensure he played it against the man and out or down the line, so keeping possession. By the time the tackle was committed to it just looked all wrong. Hadn't noticed the previous row with same player, that does put a different perspective on my initial view as to why he may have slowed a bit.

Great day To be fair I wasn't really aware of the "hatred" before that day, to me they were just our nearest neighbours who we hardly ever seemed to play. Drove down with mates early, couple of rounds of pitch and putt down Saffsee before walking from there to the ground. Stood 3/4s way back right behind goal . Never before seen so many Saints fans in one place at one time (obviously at The Dell but this actually felt like there was more there). Pretty sure we just walked in, no turnstile, although read above gates had been kicked in. Celebrations when we scored were manic, (remembering seeing myself celebrating on MotD). went down god knows how many steps and it is still a mystery to me how within seconds everyone managed to find their mates again and re-assembled back where we were. The fact that we had already mentally accepted a draw and the goal came out of the blue made it even more sweet. Then just as we'd all settled the final whistle went and it all started again Don't recall being kept in but have vague memories of LawrieMac being interviewed on pitch so guess we must have done. Was able to break away from main group on the way out. Walk back to car pretty uneventful except for one or two half-hearted attempts to identify us/wind us up by large groups hanging around on street corners (possibly the smiles were giving us away) which we just ignored (being 6ft 2in and only 3rd tallest in our group of 4 probably helped) . One of the more pleasant - albeit short - journeys home , so so different to April 2005. The highs and lows of being a football fan in two games.

Last chance saloon for Andy Awful today. Lose and he's gone.

This. Definitely this. If ever there was a song that a) nobody can get wrong, b) everyone right round the ground can join in with, c) can be repeated/continued as long as you like d) is original (I think) and; e) CAN ONLY BE SUNG AT THE RIGHT ****ING SPEED then this is it

Was visiting wife in hospital after birth of daughter that evening. We were 2-0 up on the radio when I got in the car on way home so I switched the radio off so I could enjoy the tv highlights better later that evening.

I included the proviso that the full 10% may not be required in which case the home club can sell the unwanted ones. Fair would mean equal for all i.e. my suggested 90/10 split at all grounds. Logical would mean based on logic. The current system is based on no logic whatsoever i.e it does not take into account demand for either home or away tickets, nor the suitably/ability of ground layout to segregate h&a. It's a totally arbitrary figure. So your statement is wrong on both counts.
-
You're looking at it the wrong way round. Small clubs - i.e. clubs with 96% home fans. If all grounds have 90%home / 10% away available THAT is a level playing field. (Whether the 10% is always required is another matter0

#GoodLuckTim now UK trending on twitter. The media might be trying to overlook us in 4th but they won't be able to ignore THIS story ;-)

Does anyone really think that the Special One really believes there is a campaign against them? He just seized an opportunity to a) make sure none of the media are discussing how his world class team could only gain a single point from lowly Southampton; and b) has already put subliminal pressure on the ref in their next game(s) to give them the benefit when in any doubt over a decision. Speaking generally diving needs stamping out but is not easy to spot in real time. Sometimes only the slightest touch when running at speed is enough to genuinely make a player to stumble, if not go right over. The harder one's to decide on are the ones like Fabregas/Targett. He's not really moving at any speed, there was contact but was it enough to make him fall unintentionally? Then there's those really hard (sarcasm) pushes which look like they wouldn't move a balloon but "cause" a brick-****house-sized player to fall over. Pundits will say "he laid a hand on him" but the amount of force (or lack of) behind it is rarely mentioned if ever. Then there's that grey area of stumbling after jumping to avoid a scything tackle that would definitely have been a foul if you had stayed on your feet. Diving needs stamping out but I wouldn't want to be making decisions as to what is and isn't.

Made same mistake based on the badge.

Good quiz. 8/10. Kicking myself for one of the 2 I got wrong. Anyone know why I had to view it in IE? Firefox just showed first picture with no options. Adblocker or suchlike possibly?

Agree, best drama on TV for god knows how long, if not ever. Did you misunderstand? Yes and No. IMO this was so cleverly written that how one interpret the ending says as much about the viewer as it does the characters . For me it was the contrast between Emily accepting Ollie's death, although still feeling that he is always with her, whilst picturing him as he was when she last saw him. Tony, without seeing a body, can not accept he is gone, and is searching the world for every potential sighting, in his mind he's looking for a child that matches the how-he'd-look-now e-fit shown on the front page of the newspaper. For me the Russian wasn't Ollie, he was old enough when he died/disappeared to speak fluent English and remember his Dad (although maybe not with the Roy Keane beard). The Russian just represented the forlorn hopes of a desperate man who can't achieve closure. But then I could be wrong. Great series.
