Hey come on, no need to be too despondent. We all knew this run of games was going to be tough. Just have to stand tall. THB possibly Bendarek, Downes, and Dibling are back. The side will have more balance and structure as a result of that. I would have Lumley KWB THB Wood Manning Dibling Downes Aribo Fernandes Armstrong Archer I'd prefer Onuachu but presume he's unfit. A midfield that might just contain Villa would very a good starting point. The grim reaper can f*** off we aren't dead yet. COYS

Absolutely zero surprises from that game. Chelsea have some unbelievable talent and are a very well drilled side. I rarely notice opposition players I'm too one eyed on my own team for that. However Palmer and Menduka were very impressive. I expected a defeat and it duly arrived. Jack's an idiot, he's supposed to be a professional. Up to then he'd played quite well and the side needed him. He should expect quite a lengthy time on the bench now. Clearly we'll be relegated. The squad simply isn't good enough. The manager's naivety and inexperience, coupled with SRs weird recruitment and 'don't play ABK' philosophy, makes for a disastrous season. I thought Wood did well, especially as he had to run that defence on his own for an hour. No doubt he'll take Jack's position now. Archer looked lively and Fraser stepped up in an unfamiliar role. Manning gave 100% we can ask no more. Just grizzly, I stayed until the end, why I do not know, I just can't leave early. I clearly enjoy pain. Forget this game but I sure as hell expect an improvement against Villa. No excuses there.

Yhis plus Archer and Frazer linking up well. There are good things happening but the defence is desperate.
-
They wouldn't notice .... got carried away.

This would be my team. Lumley Sugawara ABK Stephens Bree Manning KWP Aribo Fernandes Stewart Armstrong Onauchu/Archer I guess Wood for ABK if Martin refuses to play him. Very defensive but it gets as much Premier League experience on the field as we can. We"ll just have to support them like a cup game. No good whinging about this game, just get it out of the way.
-
I think it almost certainly was. He is getting far too much media attention atm and needs that inevitable suspension off the books. A rest will do him good, he is very important to us. Hopefully Onuachu will be available which will give Martin options. No way should we be relying on an 18 yo anyway, no matter how good.
-
He'll be sold before then, probably a 100 million.
-
You looked that up! If that came out of your brain you need to get out more. I'm still waiting to use pusillanimous on here .. suspect that opportunity is coming soon
-
Next time we moan about a ref remember Robert Jones went above and beyond to keep him on the pitch. Downes was absolutely cruising for it tonight.
-
Decent point, managed to look like a football team in the 2nd half. Now build on that. Missing Dibling and Downes for the next game. Aribo can sub for Downes, Sule or Onuachu for Dibling. The youngster needs a rest.
-
That's true but critically they allow you to hear the discussion and see the incident on the screen. Makes a huge difference
-
Thing is he's right. Armstrong clearly offside makes a move towards the ball. Lino gave it (probably for Archer). No need for VAR just get on with the game.
-
Dibling made that goal That's what happens when Brighton back off and don't go for the jugular. Even Saints can score occasionally
-
A goal a bloody goal
-
All together now 'We're so crap it's unbelievable' Sooner or later one of the other Prem teams will have an off day against Saints ... and somehow allow us to beat them. Their manager will quite rightly be sacked in the tunnel. Where are the essential eight points coming from 🥹 Oh well one nil down, still in it
-
What the hell are Downes and KWP doing. If one of them is sent off we are in for a proper battering
-
Nothing to do with him, over his head. THB lost his man
-
Behave it wasc2 feet above him
-
He's our only outlet, they'll take a couple of yellows to get him out of the game. He needs a fit Sulemana or SAA to give them something else to worry about
-
It was an excellent cross, more of that please.
-
We all know what's happening here. Lumley will be injured, sent off early doors. Cue a one legged McCarthy.
-
I know we are supposed to hate other teams and all that nonsense..... but this tackle was worthy of Bobby Moore.
-
I suspect many of us are feeling the same. It is soul destroying to watch endless defeats, often unnecessary ones. Last year was great, but we had two years of this garbage before then. This is fast becoming worse than Branfoot.
-
As likely as anything else we'll see. Should be McCarthy KWP THB ABK Taylor Aribo Downes Fernandes Dibling Onuachu Armstrong ABK may be rusty/injured so Stephens could continue. I've no issues with him Aim to move the ball quicker, and cut out the crap at the back. They are a better team, and more than likely will beat Saints. However if RM puts out the strongest team, and tells them to focus on avoiding the mistakes of the previous 3 months, then there is a chance. Won't happen of course. Partly his ego and partly, probably instructions from above, to showcase the squad, as they need to sell them.

Tragically I come into that bracket. I have a work pension on top of the state pension, so frankly I should pay full whack. Can't see the problem, there are lots like me. Those on benefits or just state pension should get some discount. However what would help is some reserved car parking. for old farts like me, near the ground. Hauling my arithtic bones over the Itchen bridge is becoming tiresome.
