  1. Oh has to be out and a number with him. Our one chance of landing a decent manager will be if he can bring in his own coaching team. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  2. Got there before me! but loving that team. Sod the goalie play in their half Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  3. The negative vibes coming off the stands are part of the problem. Totally get why but it isn't helping. Redmond is scared of taking a risk due to the flak he receives. When he does the opposition are immediately on their heels and bingo we have a decent chance. I thought he had a better game today not our worse by any means. Having said all that this manager is obviously out of his depth, and has lost the dressing room. I have never seen a Saints team so at odds with each other and lacking team spirit. VVD may be a good player but along with Bertrand it looks like he is a toxic influence at the moment. Not a word from either this season just when a rallying call from our talismen is desperately needed. Frankly they can do one, pocket the cash And move on. Forster concerns me, does he has the mental strength to cope with the current situation. He has to be rested for his (and our) wellbeing. We are going to get sweet FA from the next 6 games, so use them to rebuild. New manager, required obviously, who believes in attacking football. Not watching MOTD Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  4. Probably shows just how bad MP is, if Puel is getting a second look. Still a big no from me. I'm holding out for Leicester to buy Tadic Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  5. Well that was desperate and very worrying. Brighton are bang average but by the end deserved a win. Slow slow boring football. Probably have enough to avoid relegation this year, but next year could be painful. I really didn't like Puel and MP can do one as well. Saints fans aren't daft we know our limitations, top half, possibly Europe, the odd cup run, that's our ambition (for the moment ). However above all else good football is essential. Passion, drive, pace, the occasional shot maybe. Something to suggest that the big sides will be nervous playing Saints. At the moment Saints are predictable and too easily out thought and out fought. Solution Drop Tadic Play McQueen in front of Bertrand Play just 3 out of Romeu Lemina Davis PJH jwp Play Stephens at right back as Cedric is being targeted every game now. Buy a target man Beef up the team Double training to get fit Poch style Fine them a week's wages for passing backwards or sideways unless genuinely forced to do so. Each player must have at least 3 shots per game Play the game at pace and with a bit of style. Be brave. We may lose some games but bet we win a few more as well. Anything really as I'm fed up with this. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  6. "I'd really like to see Stephens come in for Lemina. I think he's even more suited to that role than CB. Comfortable on the ball and he'd give us another midfield option." I think there is a growing momentum for this but I doubt a tough away game at Brighton is the best place to start. Probably better to push Van Dyke forward and bring in Hoedt. However ir will probably be JWP. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  7. Good shout that sounds like the favourite Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  8. Losing Lemina is a mighty blow but every team loses players over the season. We have to cope. Holberg is an obvious replacement but he's been out of the 1st team too long to be thrown straight in. Just my opinion obviously but feels risky. I get the negative vibes with JWP, he is a good player but critically lacks pace. However his high quality deliivery does put teams under pressure and I don't think we use that enough. He is the safe option so bet MP goes with him. I'm conflicted with Boufel . Has his recent renaissance been due to facing a tired opposition or are we wasting his talent. Only one way to find out I guess. A previous poster's suggestion of Stephens in midfield is a bold move but would love to see that. If it worked what a coup that would be. 9. The way their going they'll win it by Christmas. Fixture list result playing them last in a world cup year. A real Billy bonus. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  10. I'm guessing you aren't the type for reasoned debate but I'll bite. Austin only played part of the season scored 6 EPL goals. Redmond scored 7. Hardly something to get excited about. He is lethal in the box and if we played that way he'd be your man. However Saints don't and as a result he looks slow and hopelessly out of form. How on earth he is supposed to regain form with these 10 minute cameo is beyond me. The fault does not lie with him. He needs a manager that plays to his strengths. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  11. Good point 'effective' passing Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  12. My God that was poor. By the end I was willing Friend to blow the whistle because the only team that were going to score again was Newcastle. VVD is as rusty as hell, quality he may be, but get Hoedt in please. Leave VVD to subs appearances and get rid on Jan. Bertrand needs to give a toss and the manager needs to sort this out. Slow slow slow no passing, no movement, and no shooting. Davis and Boufel did try to inject some urgency but how many chances is Tadic going to get. Also well the hell do the crowd shout for Austin. He really is out of sorts. Wrong player wrong league. Hurrumph Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  13. Stephens was one of our best players can't drop him but maybe push him forward
  14. Well that was desperate...... again! Thought the defence was ok Stephen's clearly benefited from being next to Hoedt and showed his class. Hoedt is a big lump CH and did his job. Cedric was our best player for what that's worth. That's it the rest were poor. Forster has to be rested his mobility is terrible he just cannot get down quick enough. Just look how good Gomez was as a comparison, and he is average for the PL. Saints don't score goals because the midfield is too easily bossed. Chalabah owned the pitch today and Romeo had no answer. Tadic Boufel JWP Redmond all have their skills but together they are lightweight. We could have Messi and Neymar up front and they would see too little of the ball to score. We all see know that VVD should have been sold early doors but principles always have consequences. No point crying about it just need to man up and sort it out. The team needs to fight for the midfield and play a simpler more direct game. Push the oppo back and let our forwards do their job. Crucially Saints need to put a bigger team out. Start from there and then build. How about McCarthy Cedric VVD Hoedt Bertrand Stephens Lemina Romeu McQueen Long Gabbi Bit of a pedestrian team but have to start somewhere and that lot will at least hold their own in Midfield. Oh and try shooting occasionally. Manager isn't feeling the love from me yet. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  15. You aren't a pillock but 100% wrong on JWP. One of our stars and loyal lay off him. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  16. Don't get me wrong I'd rather he stayed but if he is offered a good deal with a bigger club then so be it. Just as long as he helps secure the maximum cash possible for Saints then accept it and move on. CB Is one of the easier positions to fill at our level. The team clearly needs a DM, attacking midfielder, and decent mobile forward who can a really score occasionally. Oh and a manager that can actually set a team up to win. Football is a team game plenty more players around. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  17. 70 million is ridiculous for an injured player no matter how good a season he has had. Love him to bits but that money will seriously strengthen the squad. The defence wasn't the biggest issue last year. What was in front (And behind) was. Focus on that. VVD has returned a £55 million profit in 18 months good business. Thank you sir and good luck. Just pull a hammy when playing against Saints please. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  18. Send him out on loan!!! He is a major asset for Saints now. He is looking better every game. There's our future right there. Keep him and play him. We can't moan that clubs nick our players, if we don't show some loyalty when we do actually find a decent player. Personally I'd push him forward a bit. I reckon he has the skills. Only a bit mind judging by his shooting last night Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  19. Agree 100% he's proving to be a potential star turn and DM is an obvious next step. Bet Poch would have had him there by now A point at Anfield always a good return. Don't care how just says away draw in the book Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  20. I thought that Stephens was excellent in the first half against Chelsea. We were in line with the defence and he was covering Yoshi a lot which is worrying. The problem is neither are strong enough in the air and too easily bullied. On the ground they are both very good. I think Stephen's will be excellent next to VVD or similar. We don't have Lambo or Pelle helping out at the back either now. However the major issue is we have discarded our strong midfield. All the decent teams play with 6 defenders now, with two large mobile defenders sitting deep aka Wanyama and Romeu. That is exposing our defence big time. Personally I'd try Stephens in that position as he has the skills and pace. We could unearth a gem. We need a stronger bigger team all round. Team of midgets at the moment. As for the goalkeeper....... Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  21. No he isn't. I was there and he did ok. He did his job (not brilliant but I've seen way worse) he isn't as strong in the air as we need. He would be a good partner for Van Dyke. Distribution was good but he tired in the 2nd half and let a few slip. So what, I'd rather give him game time than waste time on a short term import. Can't believe the stick JWP gets disgraceful. He had a very good game and was constantly driving forward. Tadic in contrast was poor and wasteful. Bet hey what do I know I only go to all the games and lost my blinkers years ago. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  22. I've been to all 6 finals, 4 defeats now I'm fed up with that, but what a performance today. If you aren't proud of that then you best give up now. Yes there were faults, our Goalie situation is worrying, but if the club could grow a pair and just keep some stability for a while the future looks bright. Appalling decision for our first goal but equally both Stephens and Romeo could have been sent off (as could Lingard). Football karma will come around some day. Still a good day to be a Saints fan. 23. HOUSTON, WE HAVE... A STRIKER Quality
  24. "That is not at all fair on Stephens. He was playing virtually alone in the centre of defence as Gardos moved about as much as a training dummy." Completely agree, Stephen's didn't have his best game but was exposed more than any other defender has in recent times. Gardos just isn't a Premier League defender, probably not even League 2 standard. However both were on to a hiding to nothing with zero defensive midfield in front of them. Stephens looks to have that touch of class and potential that we all want to see. However desperate day at the office and nobody comes out of this with any dignity left.
  25. That was way too much stress for someone of my advanced age and weight. It was all released when Long scored.... we still can't find the cat All heroes but what a debut for young Stephens, very impressive. I celebrate my 50 anniversary as an emotional slave to Saints this year, what a rollercoaster and a 6th trip to Wembley. Lost 3 won 2 so far, let's see if they can even the score. correction one of those was at Cardiff, I'm too excited......
