Oh we will be moving!

Bugger behind the goal. I hate that. Still I might just see a goal. Decent team, Valery a surprise and I thought Bendarek would play. Certainly hasn't put out a weak side. Better not go to penalties.
-
I guess it comes from confidence plus having a unit like Salisu next to him helps. He's keeping Bendarek, who did well for Poland, on the bench That is a good sign.
-
He was excellent today and yes he needed to get stuck into Antonio, thats part of his job.

Cracking game, enjoyed that. West Ham are a classic Moyes team now. Huge, well organised and very dangerous. No disgrace in a point. Defence was excellent, feels good to say that for once. Something is definitely hampering JWP, he is nowhere near as mobile and was hesitant into a few tackles. Moi is just too slow. With both of them leaving space in the middle, getting the ball forward was difficult. Things improved when Diallo came on but Ralph really needs Armstrong back. Three hard fought for points, season is under way now.
-
Look no one is pretending he is the equivalent of Rudiger at CB. However he is a heart and soul back up CB, and a presence on the field. He steps up when required and does a good job. Ralph's style of playing does leave the CBs very exposed. I think he looks a lot more comfortable in a back three. Be interesting to see how the new CB fits in.

I thought that was an excellent game of football. End to end stuff and Saints should have won it but a point away will always do. Salisu my pick he was immense. There is no mystery to why Saints concede in the 2nd half so often. The midfield and FBs play so far up the field that as they tire the defence is over exposed, with usually just two of them back there. In the PL you are going to have the likes of bleeding Ronaldo running at you with two whippets in support. It is inevitable that goals will be conceded. Am I being too optimistic in hoping they'll address this issue. As others have observed Tino is an awesome talent, but he is an 18 yo lad who was playing his second game in a week. KWP could have easily taken his place after 60 mins with Perraud. It is all very well having talented youngsters but you need to look after them. Next 3 games look ghastly but need to get them over and done with.

They deserved that and more.

Elyounoussi goal machine
-
He played very well on Tuesday (had space mind) so worth a go. Tino is blowing he may need to come off
-
Just an opinion. Not meant to be controversial. Walcot is an experienced international and Prem player. He doesn't come across as a Billy big bollocks and hopefully can guide the youngsters we have packed our side with. Long has the same attributes but is a busted flush on the pitch now. However Theo has to offer something on the pitch as well.
-
Well obviously don't know for sure, so just an opinion. I base it on the fact that Walcot is an experienced international, has played at the highest level. He comes across as a good pro. That is important when you have an inexperienced squad. I'd prefer a Jimmy Case type but the club simply cannot attract those players at the moment. KD good for morale maybe, but he struggled to maintain form consistent enough for the Premier league. Worth 7 million I'm not sure. I guess time will tell.

Italians take defending very seriously. He will have been coached well. Clearly has talent so I am looking forward to seeing him play. Put him Stephens and Romeu in the team and they'll be a few opposition players hiding. Of course he could be a Hoedt, but for the moment he'll do for me. I wonder if Ralph will now play with 3 at the back as he has the players.
-
Defo, to be avoided and he would be advised to drop that.
-
I wouldn't underestimate how important Walcot is in the dressing room. Youngsters need guidance and he'll be providing that. He also has the capacity to have a good game still. As Egg says Forster and Long don't offer the same value. Just need to put up with it until next year.
-
Long

Ralph likes an unchanged side. However I think KWP for Perraud would be a good move. Redmond for Walcott, he played well last night and deserves a chance. Subbed early if old habits arrived.
-
From the start I guess JWP

You can only play what's in front of you, and Saints showed their class. I think Newport were a bit overawed and it was good to see Saints being ruthless for once. Absolutely obvious that there is more competition for places now. KWP, Redmond, Elyounoussi and Diallo were excellent. Clearly up for the challenge and knocking at the door now. Valery seemed to get stronger as the game went on, and tracked back well when they had a rare attack. He's really bulked up and had a good attitude. Good to see Forster and Walcot didn't have good games. I can't see McCarthy being replaced on that performance. Good turnout from Saints fans and in good voice. However was it really necessary to have a go at their fans and ground. Newport are a club that has only just clawed it's way back into the league from oblivion. They had a lot of kids there just excited about seeing a Prem team. Be nice to think we could show a bit more class sometimes.

I suspect it will be something like. Forster Valery Bendarek Salisu KWP Rrdmond Elyounoussi Diallo Tella A Armstrong Broja
-
Not the club's finest hour. Marjor fiasco. That refund will cost at least 1/2 million I suspect. Someone is having a meeting without coffee on Monday morning. So avoidable, alarm bells should have rung two weeks ago. Just email out a match ticket to ST holders as a one off. That would have solved the problem and saved money.
-
He did have a very good game, and really should be our Captain as he is excellent on the verbal. However he has to get rid of these brain fart moments. I noticed that in the 4th quarter he was playing further forward, and was bullying any Utd player he could get near. That's what has been missing.
-
I've learnt over the years to enjoy these type of results for what they are. Easy to find fault, but I was expecting a 3+ defeat so...... result. Crucially it will calm down the supporter base, we aren't quite as bad as we thought. Still right in the bottom half mix, but we can at least approach those games with a bit more confidence. Tino, Stephens, and Adams were my stand outs today. I thought Diallo and KWP really stiffened the side when they came on, Pogba was losing it towards the end, always a good sign.
-
I'm guessing he hasn't been signed as a first choice CH. More of a squad player. Have to wait and see if he is a Lovren or Hoedt. That means that Bendarek and Salisu are first choice, with no serious compensation. This may not end well.
-
He doesn't really need it. He knows the club will have to cash in some time. For the moment good news.
