Maybe only a marginal improvement in skill, but hopefully a major improvement in fitness. I think Boruc's back problems a structual and he'll always be out injured a lot.
-
Ok so he's not too good at choosing words, but he was good on the pitch. And I for one believe he does care about the club. That's why he gets in such akward pr situations becuase his career choice conflicts with his heart. Slagging him because at one time he stated he wanted to stay with the club and later decided to leave is unreasonable. No-one would turn down a promotion (payrise) like that. MLT was unique, and there will not be a second MLT unless major reforms are made to proffesional football. We should be glad a player with such abilities stayed with us when we were dangling in the lower leagues. Probably helped making him the player he is now. Still enjoy seeing him play, still proud he is a true Saints product and don't listen to all the waffle.

Surely nothing can top: All we hear is Sadio Mané, Sadio Mané
-
But he is the man that makes them tick. More of a threat than Dyer imho
-
And that exactly the reason they're in trouble!
-
We've made very late signings so it will take some time for the team to start ticking. The panic button will be pressed within a month but we will come good. Top half finish. European football would be great!
-
Arsenal also still have Ryo Miyaichi on the books. Excellent winger who has played under Koeman before.
-
I think Long has a lot of attributes we were missing last season. Pace, movement off the ball, somebody who can get behind defenses. Without J-Rod we need that. Think he'll do well. Quoted price is crazy, but who knows what the real price is.

Get real guys, if the Manchester clubs, Liverpool, Arsenal or Chelsea come in for one of our players there's no way you're gonna stop this. We have to face up to the fact they are still much bigger clubs than us. Players know this is a promotion. There is nothing the board, Les Reed or Ralf K could have done to stop this. Al you can do is try and get the best price, and that we have certainly done. The fact that these top clubs are now interested in so many of our players only shows we're on the right track. Do you guys honoustly think Les Reed was influentual in the descision for Man U or Liverpool to invest the amount they have in our players? Once teams like Newcastle, Villa or even Spurs and Everton come in for our players it will be a real test to see how far this club has come. This takes nothing away from the fact it's heartbraking to see so many club icons leave.

Will this be the best transfer window for Saints ever?
Pierre replied to Mallagroth's topic in The Saints
Am i alone in thinking that whatever the board would have done, we can never stop players who get offers from the top 5 clubs? What is amazing that so many of our players are rated by the richest clubs in Europe. I refuse to panic untill we start losing players to side who finished below us. -
I'm suprised nobody looks at this from the players view. They are professionals with a career of about 15 years. Whatever the clubs " ambition" a job offer from Liverpool, Man U or Arsenal is a promotion. Not just in salary. Do we really expect platers to turn down these oppertunities. It's not as if we're losing players to QPR or even Villa or Newcastle. If the really big clubs start tapping players up, the only thing you can hope for is a good price. And we've certainly been getting that. Now invest wisely and another set of fans will be in turmoil.

Layún woould definately be a good replacement for Shaw, especially in a 5-3-2 system
-
Though he looked pretty good when he came on against Sunderland but got taken out by that dreadfull Wes Brown tackle. Felt he was going to score there
-
I have seen plenty of Immers and he's nowhere near the quality of our other midfielders. Hard working, reasonable touch but as was said before: championship quality. I'm not even sure Pelle would hack in the PL, but he was very strong in Holland last season. Talented Feyenoord players worth investing in would be Kongolo and Boëtius in my opion. The real gem in the Dutch league is obviously Mephis Dempay, but unfortunaltely, probably out of our league.

Maybe keeping Adam and Luke on the bench will improve the chance of them remaining Saints players...
-
Or the Ken Monkou trophy, or Alexander Ostlund, or David Connolly or Marek Saganovsky. Any more bids?
-
Koeman is a big name manager who has managed at big clubs. He also has a pretty good record with young players. Feyenoord we're sorry to see him go. We should be pinching ouselves.
-
We need a manager who spends a lot of time watching academy players, and is willing to play them. That's the unique trength of this club. Moyes supposedly isn't that kind of manager. That was one of the point he was critized for at Man U. Frank de Boer is that kind of manager but will never come to Saints.
-
Maybe Adam became as good as he is because he didn't leave to "a big club" at a very early age. Let that be a lesson to mr Shaw.
-
frank de Boer is off to Spuds, so that's onze place Poch won't be going
-
The whole point of scouting is looking at players abilities, not just their stats. Everybody in Holland could see Altidore's limitations, even when he was scoring goals. Everybody could also see Bony was just too good for our league. Just watch the games instead of listening to a agent with a youtube clip.

Jack Cork for England!
-
and does hurling this senseless abuse give you more value for money? It spoils my game if your sitting next to me. I don't see why the limitations of a player can justify abusing one of our own players. It's not gonna help him, the team, the other fans or yourself.
-
Think Jos would do well against Reading actually
-
I'm afraid Billy Sharp is not in the same class as John Guidetti and he'd definately not keep him on the bench.
