Very good post. As Saints fans we all think AOC is better served playing for us because of our own selfish reasons. At the end of the day I am convinced he will improve more by training day in day out with top class performers. People point to Theo and say his development was slowed by joining Arsenal but I totally disagree. Theo Walcott is a very good international standard player and I would be very surprised if he had made more progress by staying with Saints in the CCC at the time. It is too simple for people to say that AOC and his dad want the money. Of course the financials are important and I would be amazed if any person on this forum would turn down such a move if they were in his position. If the lad moves on, wish him luck and we move on. Its as simple as that on the bus.

Warnock has not said he can't wait to get rid of him. Maybe his priority is a winger more so than keeping a CB having signed Gabbidon. Also he could simply believe Gorkks is not good enough for PL but clearly is more than good enough for NPC. It does not mean his legs have gone or we will only get one season from him at all. Warncok is looking to strengthen his defence with proven PL players by the look of it.

If signing on fee was linked to the transfer fee then both figures I'm sure would and should be in the contract for protection of all parties.

Not according to reports that have suggested Stoke have pulled out of the race anyway and also they have signed Jonathan Woodgate very recently.

More a problem with naive fans than the players in my opinion. People can be pleased to be somewhere (i.e. a place of work) and then get an offer from elsewhere impossible to turn down. It doesn't mean they have betrayed anyone, it just means they are looking after their own interests which most of us would do in a heartbeat. Why people feel football should be any different is beyond me. It's their job after all and most people have ambition. The two coupled together mean that you will see players move on sometimes if they receive an offer from a bigger team etc etc. Nothing wrong with that at all. The challenge for the club is always replacing those players with the appropriate quality, something we have struggled to do in the past.

You have a real axe to grind with Forecast don't you. I'm not sure what he has done wrong other than sign a long term deal with Saints. To my knowledge he turns up, trains, is willing to play etc. The people who signed him are the ones we should question, not the player.

How on earth can he "extort" money from fans. This comment suggests that he is forcing people to part with their cash which is clearly not true. Everyone has a choice as to whether they wish to pay the money to watch what is on offer. Watching Saints simply isn't one of life's necessities so your comments seem very much OTT and actually a little disrespectful to fans as it suggests you do not think fans can think for themselves.

The problem is Lard in the same way that you say some people "fawn" and "cream" theirselves over Adkins, your comments are actually the same but at the opposite end of the scale. I don't think your view of our manager is "balanced" either by ant stretch of the imagination.

I have to say though, if he has scored 37 goals in 147 games for Huddersfield then that is a pretty decent strike rate for a midfielder / winger. 0.2 goals per game (according to soccerbase) over his career is not a bad return at all. Main downside I can see is that he played for Ipswich (presumably in the CCC) and the goal return was nowhere near as good and he was offloaded fairly quickly to L1 so maybe one of those players that would be a decent average player in the CCC and a very good one in L1 so questionable as to whether he would be an "excellent" signing at our level or just an average one.
