We have a weaker squad than last season, and less depth which is the one thing we needed to increase not decrease ( struggle to pick a 25 man squad) BUT it could have been a lot worse. Lots of points winning on this thread, I'd say NO ONE had an idea what was going especially after the sale of Chambers. Despite all the damage caused we do have a squad that I believe can challenge this season.

Think the selling of saints vision was one of many stumbling blocks, you look at the squad now and un surprisingly it's a shell of the team we had last season. One thing we lacked is depth and now the clubs gone backwards with even a smaller squad, with a couple academy players chucked in to hide the cracks.

Although not the end of the transfer window I'm getting a little concerned..again. By far a weaker squad than what we ended the season with, granted there hasn't been a huge amount of spending bar the top four, but no club within the premier league has suffered the loss of five first team members for (luckily)big fees. Hopefully Ron will get his attacking player in, with no out goings, the club can't let the two goals against millwall reserves cloud the reality that we're going to struggle for goals. IMO Redmond would be a good addition..

Needs to be a pellè thread judging by the reaction on here, and that alone says something. People jeering pellè is as embarrassing as those singing Lamberts name at Liverpool when he'd been subbed on to score against us. 'Needs better delivery and more service' partly true, but pellè also needs to learn how to control a ball and actually do something with the service he's provided, in bigger games we might only get 2/3 chances and they need to be taken at this level. No one should write him off yet, but he can be judged and currently he looks awful, something needs to change up front that's f'sure!

On the bright side it might push les and co to invest in a couple more players that aren't average dross Negative I think guly could have shown more threat than pellè, only so long Ron can back his man, although it's not like we have a plan B up front..

Unproven CB just signed, pellè who's just realised the pace of the premier league and needs to step it up big time, and long with a goal scoring record weaker than Carlton Coles. GK position IS stronger but that's only if boruc is kept, and Tadić DOES look a class act all be it after one premier league game.

Deserved a draw, wanyama, fonte, tadić, JWP, Morgan, Clyne stood out for me, yoshida looked nervous and is clearly a weak link, although some good tackles in the second half. Pellè was my biggest concern might as well have played with ten men, truly shocking needs to step it up big time.
