Two down, one up was just a one off this year to allow for the change to an eight team 1st Division. Believe it's back to two up from next season. Some encouraging signs for next season after the woeful start and to be fair we weren't helped by injuries. We were already the weakest squad in the division before that hit us so we were always going to struggle and had to start hunting around the bargain bin for any old seamer! If Topley and Edwards had managed a few games each we probably would have stayed up. McLaren had a great year with the bat but barely took a wicket in the second half of the season. Would probably only keep him on as a Kolpak rather than as main overseas. Although will be unlikely to find an overseas with such good availability. I think Smith may be out of contract? He struggled but would probably keep him for another year as a cover batsman and hope to recruit a decent top order player. -
No problem with that team really. Fonte's not been at his best so far and Cedric still looks poor. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk

Smith has done a job but is hardly in the top bracket. Lumb was a pretty high profile signing but I always felt he flattered to deceive in the four day game and before that I can only think of Carberry which was 10 years ago now! To be fair, I'm not sure how many top class batsmen there are around the circuit at the moment. England have struggled to fill the second opener and number three spot for a while and with Taylor having to retire there's another spot in the middle order up for grabs which may well force them to go back to Bell. -

Warwickshire may fancy a chance of winning this still given how we batted for the first couple of sessions of this game. -

Not the ideal way to pick a side but Wood may get in on strength of his batting. Topley, Tomlinson and Edwards are all number 11s and I don't think Crane is much better. -
Given is incredibly ropey these days. Was in goal for the 6-1 game at the end of last season against Villa and at fault for at least one or two goals. You might as well give up when you lose your place to Brad Guzan!

Until about ten years ago there used to be 3/4 main games and the rest they would just show the goals/major incidents from.

That was Marcus Bent!

Post-Match Reaction: SAINTS 1-1 Sunderland

Don't think we were as bad as some are making out. Typical Allardyce side away display really. Front three are all out of form and lacking confidence but they were trying things and didn't hide from the ball. Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk -
I see that it says that those with 7 or 8 are guaranteed a ticket as long as they buy before the Monday.

There was talk of Pelle still not being 100% fit this week so not a huge shock.
-
Probably some time in the next week or two. It will be interesting to see how they stagger the sales. I'm a season ticket holder and have been to seven aways so think it will be touch and go for me in terms of getting a ticket given the small allocation. It won't be a bubble game.
-
You might have a point actually as I've just looked up his record and he's only played six first class games in the last two seasons. I knew he'd had injury problems but didn't realise they were that bad! Still very young though so hopefully we'll get more games out of him. Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk

Bowling looks very strong compared to most of last season. I suppose the side could look something like: Adams, Carberry, Vince, Smith, Dawson, Ervine, Wheater, McLaren, Berg/Crane, Edwards, Topley. I imagine Dawson will be used as the main spinner for most of the season with Crane playing more later in the year. About time we had a young top order batsman come through as Adams struggled for most of the season and both he and Carberry are 35 now. A good season for Vince will surely put him right in England contention with their middle order struggles at the moment. He probably would have played a test by now had he not had such a poor 2015 Championship season.
-
He signed a contract at the end of the season, so no. It's Ryan McLaren as overseas player. He had been rumoured as a Kolpak signing previously. Will be good to have an overseas player playing the whole season and not coming and going due to international call-ups.

Man City away - Sat 28th November

City is usually pretty expensive so I imagine they will get to you unless we take a particularly small allocation. I expect we'll find out in the next couple of weeks when they'll be on sale. -
Which other club (or clubs) do you follow?

I watch Maidenhead United reasonably regularly in the Conference South and you can drink by the pitch there. They've even opened a second bar there this season! Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk -
I couldn't believe what was going on. Was nearby to where it all started and those involved found it side-splitingly hilarious. Utterly baffling. I just hope they can be identified and the club take the necessary action... Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk

It's two for a no ball in county cricket so was actually 'only' 13 but still not great. Three of them were by spinners as well!

119 for 6, effectively 81 for 6. Definitely do not want their tail to wag as it looks like anything above 150 could be a tricky chase here! Durham's wicket never seems to be questioned despite games like this being a fairly regular event.
