****. Pothas and Kabir dismissed in successive balls.

72 needed off 8. Hampshire appear to have given up since Benham got out.
-
170/5. Benham just gone, 10 overs left. Lose one more wicket and time to shut up shop methinks!

I'm 21, voted in local elections in 2007 at home and in 2008 in Sheffield, first time voter in General Elections though. Will probably vote in Sheffield as it's likely to be a Lib Dem/Labour marginal whereas in Maidenhead there's not a great deal of point in voting as it's a very safe Tory seat. As a Politics student many expect us to be the most interested/keen in voting. I've always found that most of us are fairly apathetic when it comes to voting, very few strongly support parties for example. I guess from studying it we all know the failings of our democracy too well!
-
Neither will come anywhere near to gaining a seat. One of the few good things about the FPTP system...
-
Must admit was surprised the figure was that low when it was read out. Thought it looked closer to 24,000 or so.

Lib Dem 72% Labour 71% Greens 64% UKIP 47% BNP 33% Tories 32% No shocks there really, except UKIP bit higher percentage than I expected!

No music, no **** on the pitch 'firing' the crowd up, no naff competitions at half time. That will do nicely. -
Funny thing is spotting the fans wearing those scarfs with their replica shirts! Don't have a clue what they're protesting about!
-
Well I guess they deserve their Premiership status because they got promoted...usually how a league system works anyway. Would be slightly boring if top-flight status was based on size of ground and what you had done in the past... West Brom haven't been regulars in the top flight for years, nor have Norwich and I'm pretty sure Luton's spell in the 80s was the only time they'd been up there.

A FamiliarFace playing against us next week at Wycombe

Didn't play that much alongside Jakobsson. Was brought in to replace him and would have played most of his games with Lundekvam (who was woeful that season). -
Official: 44,000 tickets for Wembley then...
Berkshire Saint replied to .comsaint's topic in The Saints
That's what I was wondering. If it's true that Carlisle have only got 20k tickets that leaves around 25k seats empty! Unless it's possible to buy tickets directly through Wembley, which it doesn't seem to be from looking on its website. -

Millwall and Pompey hate each other, they're hardly going to 'back up' Pompey fans in any trouble.

Grandfather was in the Royal Navy, was a Lieutenant at the time of the war and fought in the Pacific. Great-grandfather was in the Indian Army and fought in both World Wars. Was on the Western Front during the First (was a Captain then) and was a Brigadier by the time of the Second but no idea where he was based.

I imagine they'll bring a membership scheme back in next season, would make sense. Anyone else think a lot of the ticket information from the ticket office tends to be a load of ********. Quite often we get 'apparently 24,000 sold' on here and then get a crowd of around 20,000.
-
Not a bad player but not widely enthused by this either. Would like to see younger players like Vince get a go. There are some rumours around about Carberry going back to Surrey which would be a diaster. Would like to think we can tell them to **** off as we've let them have Brown and Tremlett whilst they were still under contract to us so would be a bit much to release Carberry to them as well...
-
This lad talks sense. Really don't understand the **** a few fans on here give to Keane. Pretty sure he doesn't give a **** about us!
-
These were the ticket prices as well: http://www.wiganlatics.co.uk/page/TicketNews/0,,10429~1891599,00.html Pathetic.
-
Yeah we used to take massive followings to Sunderland and Newcastle...
-
Yeah but their clubs are unlikely to let them play in case they need them later on in the competition.
-
Eastleigh aren't full time so would make sense...
-
Not really. Any sort of PR system would probably have a threshold that would have to be passed in order to gain any seats (5/10% of the vote maybe). The BNP got less than 1% of the vote in 2005.

Contrived finish sends Essex up to CC1

Nothing like it to be honest. Derbyshire were going for a win and were well set to do it until RTD can in and played a pretty remarkable innings. People moan when games drift until dull draws so I can't see much wrong in what Derby did.
