  1. Was there today. Pitch very worn and 220-250 will probably be a pretty tough 4th innings chase on that. Very loose shot from Dawson to get out just before the close. Would have said we were slightly shading it if we were only one down at close of play.
  2. We have a stupidly long tail for this game too. Doubt we'll make 200. ****ing brilliant.
  3. Would rather have Tahir.
  4. Leicester fans all seem to think Nugent's going there.
  5. Hammond played for Brighton last time they were in the Championship I believe.
  6. The above about the form of our players is pretty much my take on it too, Weston.
  7. Why are people so obsessed with expanding the stadium? 32,000 is about right for us, we never averaged above about 24,000 last time we were in the Championship with maybe one or two sell outs/near sell-outs a season.
  8. Bowled pretty well since his return actually. He's had a ****ing serious injury and it's amazing he's playing to be honest. Accept that his batting form is worrying though.
  9. We finished 5th in Warne's last season. 3rd in our first season without him...
  10. West Ham will be near the top. Sam Allardyce would hardly have gone there for them to struggle all year.
  11. Charlton have always had ****-poor away support.
  12. Division 2 of the County Championship is dire though. A definite gap between the two divisions has emerged. Also, we're the longest serving Division 1 side so that's something worth hanging on to! What was Cork's outburst all about? Was sort of half-watching it and general gist I got was that Lumb got slagged off in the local papers (for going to IPL I assume)...obviously I'm not local so haven't managed to find anything written myself.
  13. Slide Away, Listen Up and Live Forever favourites for me I reckon.
  14. Some light relief for us. At least there's still one side around who are worse off: http://www.espncricinfo.com/county-cricket-2011/content/current/story/516800.html
  15. Decent summary Weston Saint. I agree about Pothas but with the batting so weak at the moment, bringing in Bates would be too much of a risk. Bilal Shafayat has been playing for the 2nds and scoring runs, he's a part-time keeper as well so may be a short term solution? The major problem we have is all the injury doubts we have over the bowlers. Cork is pretty much the only one that hasn't been affected by a serious injury in the last year or so and even he's had a few niggles. Bit early to say about Dimi's form with the ball. He had good figures in his first one day game back. His batting has looked a little nervous though.
  16. Was there today. Utterly woeful.
  17. Surely it will be Howell? Just scored a century opening in one day cricket and has always been an opener in 2nd XI and age-group cricket. I would go for: Howell Adams Myburgh McKenzie Vince Pothas Mascarenhas Cork Ali Briggs Griffiths May be tempted to go for Tomlinson instead of Ali or Griffiths. I don't see the point of Jones even being considered for the four day stuff to be honest.
  18. Dawson out with hamstring injury. 13 man squad here: http://www.rosebowlplc.com/news/hampshire-v-lancashire-lvcc-preview/
  19. 189/6. So ****ing predictable.
  20. Yeah was going to say, bit rich coming from a Coventry fan who are a similar sized club to us.
  21. Yorkshire's batting lineup never seems to end. Pretty predictable that Bresnan would get runs.
  22. 7 home, 8 away. All league games.
  23. Yeah, that is true actually. Although we lost all four of the opening we (albeit briefly in some cases) got into winning positions. A habit of last season was taking the first 4/5 wickets pretty easily and then watching numbers 7 and 8 pile on the runs...
  24. Our start last season was worse. Lost the first four Championship games...think it was our worst start since the 1920s or something!
  25. 513 all out. 5 for Briggs. Need to bat until tea time tomorrow to save this...
