Don't worry, it won't catch on.

Not strictly season ticket related but thought I'd put this here rather than on another thread. This info was on the Newcastle away priority email I just got. We all know that people have bought adult tickets for friends on their kids season tickets if they couldn't make the game. People probably even bought a kids season ticket purely to use as a method of buying away adult tickets. Or that people were buying U18's tickets on adult season tickets and then paying less than they should have done. Well, that's all being clamped down on now.
-
So it is, I just presumed it was a Saturday.
-
As long as I can remember we always play our last friendly at home on the Saturday before the season starts. Would be surprised if it is away. Also, Lazio won a friendly 23-0 today.

Update from my son. Tyler is at Eastleigh now. Signed for the U21's or whatever they have there but has been training with the first team and started in their friendly yesterday
-
Yeah, that's him.

That Whiteley team were good, and yes did have a few small players! Remember 2 games in Hampshire Cup between them, one the final which Sholing won and then Whiteley got revenge the next season by knocking them out in the 1/4 final I think. I tried to DM you but am guessing you aren't a full member? Will be interesting to see where some of the lads turn up next season. There were some very good players at that age group.

Ahh, nice. My son was the keeper for Schoolboys and Sholing and has long hair. If they did play for the same team or against each other you'd probably know who he is. I didn't know AW had been released, I haven't seen his Dad for a while.
-
He doesn't play anymore but played for Sholing and Southampton Schoolboys with Tyler and went to school with him. He's just finished college now, a few of his ex team mates are playing Wessex League for Hamble or were in U18's at Eastleigh. One was signed by Cheltenham. Have to see where some end up next season.

They don't have academies down here but they do scout extensively, maybe more than any other club. They have a lot of kids up for 6 weeks trials and stuff like that. It's quite something how much they put in to finding decent young players.

Tyler was playing with QPR for a bit last season and had been at Bournemouth recently, not sure if they are taking him on or not.

Is there a rule that we have to include a reference to sushi in a song because he's Japanese? I wonder if international clubs who sign English players have similar conversations on their forums about including something about fish and chips in their chants.

It says clearly under the no tickets found bit that they will generate 12 hours before the game

The email they sent had links to an app for android and iPhone. Barely anyone is walking around with Linux or some other random operating system running on their phone. It's extremely unlikely that such a simple app won't work on even the oldest smartphone anyone has. The FAQs state that "Any fans who do not have a smartphone or those with accessible needs will be able to request a physical Season Ticket card if needed. We will communicate a specific window when supporters can contact our Ticket Office to request this." Therefore any fan who can't use the app will be catered for. If it bothers you that much just tell them you don't have a smartphone and get a card instead. Also, cards and physical tickets aren't infallible. The barcode of my son's season ticket rubbed off so he had to get a new one. Plenty of people have issues with printouts of tickets not scanning, I've seen it loads of times.
-
Baffled that people have never in their lives been to watch live music. It will be fine, this is the way which tickets are going and to be honest I'm all for it. Why faff around printing cards and paying people to put them in envelopes and post them when it can be done digitally? Other than going to away games I can't remember the last time I had an actual ticket for anything I have been to.

They certainly do when buying tickets through Dice. In fact they often generate only 2 hours before the gig. I've used Dice countless times for anything from 100 cap gigs to big one day festivals and never had any problems. https://dicefm.zendesk.com/hc/en-gb/articles/19413725197713-How-to-activate-your-tickets-on-the-day-of-the-event

Possibly bollocks, but there's apparently a solo press conference scheduled for Thursday when Biden will pull out of the election campaign

He's an idiot. Glastonbury has always been a festival for peace and protest right from the start. The spiritual home of the festival is the Green Fields and stone circle. Greenpeace and other charities have always been a big part of it. He's played there enough to know this.

On the face of there have been some very good appointments to the cabinet. Some of the people are even experts in their field which is night and day to the Tory jobs for mates scenario we had before.

Nathan Wood - Official: Signs Four Year Contract
The Cat replied to Sunglasses Ron's topic in The Saints
They made mistakes and learnt from them. Nothing wrong with that at all. Look at the number of big clubs who mess up at board level, fortunately for them their failure is not getting into Europe whereas for clubs our size it can equal relegation. The signings we are making are the types who would likely stay with us if we get relegated. If they do we'd have a very strong championship squad. -
What was your the issue with the app? I downloaded it just now, had to enter my email address and then a code emailed to me and I was straight in.
-
Seems decent to me. Easy to transfer tickets, club saves money not having to make the cards and distribute them. You also can't lose your ticket, even if you lose your phone you just download the app again on another one. No different to gigs now where you don't really ever get physical tickets anymore. The number of people who don't have a smartphone and go to watch Saints must be miniscule and they will sort those people out separately.
-
Depends if you can screenshot the ticket from the app and then send to them. If you can do that then it's easy. From the email they sent it says that tickets will be generated for each game in the app. It also says this: "including the ability to transfer your ticket easily to fellow supporters if you can't attend"
