The consortium I know of pulled out today. When I asked why, I was told simply "we looked at the books". They are well connected Saints fans who wanted to do best by the club, but realised other people were better placed to do so. Pity, because I was going to apply for the managers job when they took over. My FA Level 1 Coaching Qualification should easily be enough in League 1.....

I buy the Guardian. Of all the papers it seems to me to be the only one with a conscience, and it's design is superb. It clearly has it's faults, but as the old maxim goes: don't believe everything you read in the papers. It's paper sports coverage as a whole isn't the best (that'd be Times for football and Telegraph for cricket) but it's investigative sports journalism is second to none, David Conn is especially good, and it's website superb.

Food is pretty bad, and the last time I went there I had a dodgy pint too. Shan't be going back in a hurry.

Brilliant. Considering we gave them the gift of football , I think the Brazilian Government should take over the club. Or at least buy a stake in it.

Someone I know. I may only have made a handful of posts, but I've been reading and infrequently posting on this forum, it's predecessor and various other good and not so good saints sites for years. My info comes from a brief conversation with a rather nice chap I know who lives in my village. (Does that make it sound like I own a village?) He knows a member of the consortium. I have no reason to believe he was lying.

I know of one serious bid. It's not megabucks but enough to keep the club afloat.
