  1. I think we should keep up the physio report but just lie. Lambert was decapitated in training today, head successfully sown back on, hopeful he'll be back in training next week. Barnard's leg dissolved this morning in the bath. We've sawn off David Connelly's last remaining injury free leg and sown it onto Lee. Showing good signs of recovery although it's still early days and he may end up walking with a slight limp. David Connolly now only has one leg. We're thinking at his age it's probably best to just use him for spare parts now. Kelvin Davis is suffering from piles. They are really quite big, I tried to shove them back inside his butthole, and squirted a tube of anusol up there. Hopefully he'll be fit for tomorrow. Dan Harding has lost his penis. We've all had a look for it, but to be honest it's so small it could be anywhere.
  2. Good point, Big demonstration afterwards as well. Their RB in the second half was gash too!
  3. Yep. It was an amazing save. I was level with the post and thought it was going in until Davis touched it round the post. No wonder the players celebrated with him at the end.
  4. We should win really. Confidence will be high after Saturday, and it looks like Adkins is raising morale and close to getting the best out of the players. 2-1 Yeovil it is then.
  5. Agree about the walking out early. In the Colchester game there were streams of people leaving St Mary's before 85 mins. The numpties. The one difference I noticed in the booing on Saturday was the Wednesday fans letting rip with the boos after every good Saints attack finished in the second half. Our booing is pretty much saved for the end of the game. I found it strange that at times they were booing their team after Saints had built a decent attack. It wasn't always the Wednesday players fault, just good football from us. Their performance was summed up by the hilarious moment in the second half when their 2 CB's collided with each other and fell over.
  6. Lambert was ok, definitely not awful. Not up to the standards of last season but he put himself about more and linked up play well. Thought we played well and controlled the game for the most part. Obviously there were some hairy moments, but the defence was pretty solid and kelvin came through with some great saves. We seemed more of a unit and we defended well all over the pitch. Was pleased to see our midfielders and strikers hassling them into mistakes to win back posession. There was much more balance to the team. My 2 least favourite players Hammond and Puncheon kept it simple and did their jobs well. Best performances I've seen from either of them this season. The end was like a reverse of last week, this time it was our keeper pulling off 2 great saves in injury time. The last of them was brilliant, the merest fingertip diverting the ball from nestling in the bottom left corner. Right, time for a night out in dirty Leeds.
  7. He's right though. Take all that away and you still have the fans, which means there will always be a club. If we'd have gone bust the fans would have made sure there would have still been a club, and while I guess it's preferable to be higher up the pyramid, it doesn't really matter what league it's in.
  8. Hahaha, like the way his name is on the swear words filter.
  9. W******d. Probably John, rather than Tim.
  10. 1976-1994 Sutton Valence, Kent 1994-95 Millbrook Road East (never sure if that counts as Freemantle or just Southampton) 1995-98 Portswood (3 addresses: Lodge Road, Cambridge Road, Alma Road) 1998-99 Lime Street 1999-2001 Thornbury Avenue, Shirley 2001-2010 Hamble
  11. Yep. Staying with friends in Leeds after too.
  12. We went via a stop off in Bournemouth due to family stuff last year so couldn't tell you. Plus obviously it'll take longer fighting through the rush hour this time. I was gonna leave about 1630 from Hamble. Good thing is there's plenty of cross country routes after you get out of the Southampton area.
  13. Maybe he was 200% better going forward, but he was 20000000000000000000000000000000000000% worse at defending.
  14. Maybe this has already been discussed, but is leftback a certain Mr Benali?
  15. Is this some kind of weird hybrid? Have we fused Gobern and Doble together to create a new player? Maybe genetic engineering with youth team players is the way forwards. I've always wondered what was happening in that secret underground bunker at Staplewood.
  16. Found parking easy last year, we parked on the street quite near the ground. There didn't seem to be any restrictions. Also it's quick to get out as Yeovil is pretty small.
  17. There's a big beer tent in the car park, but last season it was home fans only. The Arrow is the closest pub but was rammed last season. We went to one on the edge of an industrial estate opposite a chippy which was about 15/20 mins walk away but fairly quiet.
  18. Much better, especially second half. Good shape to the team. Nice to see Puncheon is not above being subbed now. Would like to see Hammond replaced though. I think we need a more athletic midfielder, someone who can get into the space behind the strikers a lot quicker, especially if our wide midfielders are cutting in less.
  19. What was it my mum used to say? Oh yeah, "no one likes a know it all". So, well done to the people who correctly predicted that we wouldn't be running away with the league. I hope that it makes you feel better about yourself and gives your self esteem a boost. I wish I could be right all the time, then I could come on the internet and make out that I'm clever or know stuff. It's also nice that these people shout others down who may feel that our season, a whole whopping 6 games in, isn't quite over yet.
  20. To the old XTC song We've got a manager called Nigel He has our future in his hands We've got a manger called Nigel He loves the loud Southampton fans We've got a manager called Nigel He used to be a physio We've got a manager called Nigel With him up the leagues we go And if we win then Nigel's happy He's always happy He's always happy when we win
  21. Taken mine to 3 games. One was the worst game I've ever seen, a 0-0 vs West Ham at the Dell in the mid 90's when I don't think either team had a shot on target. The second was shortly after that and we lost 1-0 at home to Villa when Savo Milosovic scored. Also took her to Anfield for a New Year's day game. Traveled up on New Year's Eve through blizzards and hail only to get to Liverpool and find the city pretty much shut due to the minging weather. Luckily the game wasn't called off. We lost 2-1. Soltvedt scored. Gerrard also scored a 25 yard thunderbolt which my missus has no recollection of. All she remembers about the game was the Saints fans singing "Emile Heskey what a w*nk*r" after he had a scuffle in front of us with Claus. To this day every time she hears him mentioned she says "oh he's the w*nk*r one".

  23. WSC is a good read in general. Gives the most balanced and informed views of any football magazine around.
  24. One of the reasons for this may well have been the fact that the installments came out of supporters accounts at completely random times. When I booked my ticket over the phone I was told one installment would be taken that day, followed by 4 more on the 1st of the month. However this was not the case. The next month it came out on the 4th, then the 12th and so on. While I agree that people should be keeping track of their accounts, this is not always the case. A friend of mine had his season ticket withdrawn due to thinking the money had come out as arranged and when the club tried to take the payment in the middle of the month it was refused by his bank due to insufficient funds. The next game (Gills at home) he was late arriving at the ground. I'd already phoned him to tell him someone was in his seat as they'd sold his ticket. When he arrived and questioned a steward about it he was told it was due to non payment of his ticket. He offered to go round to the ticket office and pay the rest on his credit card but the club refused to let him do this and withdrew his ticket. He complained at a later date and Cortese apologised and gave him free tickets to a game of his choice. It didn't help Saints' cause in this case that he is brand manager at a company that works and advertises with the club and had already been invited to be a corporate guest a Leyton Orient away where he ended up sitting diectly in front of Cortese! So while there may have been some fans who started the installment plan and then canceled their direct debit in the hope of getting a cheap ST, the club's admin definitely let them down in at least one case.
  25. Main problem seems to be that Cortese hasn't worked in an industry before that has fans. Reading that link, he comes across really well. I just wish he'd communicate more with the fans through press releases on the OS to keep us informed. For example if the season ticket installments were stopped for the reasons given, and will be reintroduced at a later date, then we should have been told that when they were originally withdrawn. This would have saved a lot of anger and conjecture amongst the fans - not just on here too. Fair play to him for meeting with the fans like that. Interesting that I suggested something similar on the clubs feedback questionnaire before the start of the season. I await my invitation to the next meeting Nicola!
