I quite like Palace. Cracking result and fair play to them for taking 5000 up there midweek.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/nov/30/championship-clubs-financial-fair-play Clearly this needs to be done. Nice to see we weren't the one club who didn't bother to turn up. That honour going to Birmingham. Even Pompey managed to send a representative. Some of the clubs are making big and clearly unsustainable losses. Sheffield United £19 million last season. Ipswich £15 million, Forest £12 million. Final ratification comes in February.

He won't have any trouble finding another job, there's loads of department stores on the lookout for fat blokes with experience of wearing red and white at this time of year.
-
Me too. £25 at 16/1.

Are people still waiting for Pompey ticket email?

I haven't had an email but the 4 tickets I applied for are showing in my online account. -
Was saying the same last night. Quite a few people were having a go at him, some of it completely unjustified. Yes it's irritating when he miscontrolls the bal or runs into players and loses possession but all our players do it, not just him. Some of our supporters would seemingly prefer a worse footballer who runs around more.

If Cavendish doesn't win this year it will be the biggest travesty since, well since he didn't win last year. The bloke is by far the best sportsman in the country. If he was French, Belgian, Italian or Spanish he'd be a God. To give it to Darren Clarke because he played well for 4 days and won one thing would be a joke. Cavendish has been consistently trouncing every cyclist on the flat for years and is World Champion. Give it a few years and he'll be the best sprinter of all time. Also anyone saying Darren Clarke wins on personality can't have heard Cavendish interviewed or been following him on twitter.

What are you public sector lot up to on Weds then?

A teacher at my other half's school said she couldn't afford to go on strike so the Head is letting her 'work from home' on Wednesday. Strangely I bet a lot of teachers on strike will end up doing some work at home. -
Bursledon is the nearest pick up point for me but I'm getting the bus from St Mary's for precisely the reasons mentioned above. I can't see anything other traffic chaos at Windhover that day. There is a chance the boot fair wouldn't be on though. Presumably the owners of the field will get paid by the club for using it, and really...who needs to go to a boot fair the weekend before Xmas? Tesco's will be rammed though. Likely to be 18 lorries parked up on the road waiting to unload and blocking the traffic.

I'm all for it. Yes sometimes we get in a flap and lose the ball but it makes total sense to pass it out short. To be fair we don't always do it though. There have been games when we've abandoned it completely or cut back on it if it hasn't been working.

Done.

So what is our best performance of the season?
The Cat replied to sandwichsaint's topic in The Saints
Agree with that. To be honest while we were good at Barnsley (the long passing move followed by Guly's missed header from 6 yeards was sublime) I thought they were awful until Chaplow got sent off and made it relatively easy for us. Considering we'd been quite poor first half against Leicester that second half performace was almost insanely good. We could have scored 5. And yes, Ipswich first half we were almost unplayable. -
Our "yellows, yellows" chant always reminds me of the go kart race at the end of Fun House.

Was about 10 rows behind me but couldn't work out exactly why he was escorted out. He was really hammered though.

Better.

You're not on our bus, Gus. We're the mighty Southampton We're top of the league now And you're racist.

I just watched the first 5 minutes to see if I knew any of them. I didn't, but yes, Greg did seem somewhat strange. Was quite funny when they showed the clip of them all at his house and they'd dressed up (or down maybe that should be) just to annoy him.
-
Knowing Tesco they are probably monitoring all your online movements and you'll be looking for another job tomorrow for that remark anyway!

The whole damn place is a nightmare. Nuke it.

Why are people excited about a lorry with Coca Cola on the side? There must be a point here somewhere that I'm missing. Someone I used to work with was wetting her knickers about it this morning saying she was going to take her son to see it. He's not even 1 yet. Get a grip woman.

Time to accept that it is unlikely we will go up

If everyone's quoting themselves I may as well join in. How I predicted all that I'll never know. -
I find it much more insulting that people sing we're a "small town in Pompey" than I would if I was accused of being gay.
-
No, you'd just get weird looks from everyone around you for singing in the Chapel.
