  1. That's a great statement from Martin. Absolutely spot on. It's not just social media either, some of the stuff written on here can be quite nasty too. I very much doubt any players trawl this forum but it's totally unnecessary to call a player or a manager a cunt or fucking useless just because you don't consider them to be as good at their job as you want them to be.
  2. This is such great news. I'm not really fussed who is fit and who isn't but it will stop all the tedious "is he close" nonsense.
  3. What will happen is that some players will leave and others will join while there's a 276 page thread about it all, a lot of which will be the usual bollocks which has already been discussed to death on other threads.
  4. A BMW with a personalised numberplate? Sounds more like another word starting with C and ending with T.
  5. But they also said how well we played. Don't always need to focus on the negatives.
  6. Thought we were really good first half. Missed some good chances, they got a lucky deflection for the goal. A few loose passes here and there but on the whole some really good play in the build up. Fair play to the players on the pitch so far, they've all put in a great shift.
  7. They'll get back to the station the same way they do now, by walking. Left the ground on Saturday, walked down the path to the right of the footbridge and came out at the corner of Britannia Road. Loads of Millwall wandering around asking Saints fans how to get back to the station. There's no real need to separate fans on the walk back to the station unless we're playing Pompey.
  8. Nice mention at half time in the FA Cup game on BBC1 from Alan Shearer.
  9. Yeah, I hope our highly trained manager takes advice from a load of simpletons on the internet.
  10. Some of the posts on this thread are ridiculous. Fuck me. I've been to Elland Road a few times and the atmosphere hasn't been all that. If they are all so in awe about how incredible their support is then they should get down St Mary's and contribute to ours. May as well give up now though. It's absolute fact that no team in the history of football has closed a 5 point gap while having a game in hand and another 12 to play. Still, nice to know Leicester have some similarly lunatic posters to us.

Must have been lucky on Wednesday evening as it took me not much over an hour to get to Hamble from Portsmouth, although junction 8 was open which helped. Sounds like chaos today. 3 hours from Fareham to Southampton for someone I know.
  12. I haven't been stuffed with pork since that horrible night in Amsterdam.
  13. Obviously you have never had a bad opinion so let's all stand around and applaud Alex for his history of spot on posts over the years on a huge variety of topics under a multitude of different logins. It wasn't even that bad of a discussion. I've heard multiple people talk about it in pubs, at actual football games that you don't go to, and seen plenty of other fans online talk about us possibly catching Leicester. What's laughable is the amount of time you spend on here posting utter bollocks before then jumping on anyone who ends up being wrong in a condescending way. Weirdly when it's pointed out to you that you have been wrong you don't like it. You're like a child.
  14. That's reminded me of the time I threw the remote at the wall and smashed it when Michael Bridges scored a late winner for Leeds against us at Elland Road. I wasn't very popular with my other half for a while after that.
  15. It's not essentially hard to play against our tactics as long as the team doing it stick to their jobs correctly. Hull did that. Other teams have but only for a portion of the game which is why we have come out of those ones with a positive result. The main problem yesterday was the lack of midfield and the sheer inability of them to put in a challenge. It's actually quite funny watching Smallbone and Stu Armstrong try to tackle, I wouldn't even describe their effort as half hearted some of the time. That and the lack of out ball over the press. If Adams had started we'd have at least had a chance that the ball would stick up top. May well have been a lot different if Rothwell hadn't missed that glaring opportunity at 0-0 but we'll never know.
  16. I don't get annoyed by a loss anymore as I've seen so many. One that sticks out in my mind was a 1-0 home loss to Spurs at the Dell. I was so pissed off I went home and started kicking inanimate objects, unaware that the in laws had popped over. They made a hasty exit so it actually worked out quite well.
  17. I like thinking about end of season possibilities. The prospect of us and Leeds ending up a draw and Ipswich sneaking second is quite something. Then Saints v Leeds play off final.
  18. Hopefully they decide 10 points wasn't enough and deduct them another 10.
  19. Presumably this guy has been looking at another Saints forum!
  20. Yeah, but what about the famous Goodison atmosphere that the media mention? It must be true even though I've never experienced it when I've been there.
  21. Will be interesting to see what they are after tomorrow when we've all played the same number of games.
  22. To be promoted: Leicester 1.02 Leeds 1.33 Saints 1.57 Ipswich 2.62 To win the league: Leicester 1.22 Leeds 8.00 Saints 10.00 Ipswich 26.00
  23. They won a trophy last season. What do they realistically expect? Top 6 finishes every season? They are West Ham FFS, no more entitled to anything than any other clubs who won stuff years ago.
  24. Where were their match winners when they played West Brom away? Leeds also lost at Preston and drew at Rotherham. They way you talk about them I'd expect to look at the table and see us 6 points behind them.
  25. Whatever the result I just hope football is the winner
