1. My favourite national anthem is "God save your graciuous queen" sung to the Aussies in the cricket.
 2. Not to mention who's going to save our gracious Queen. Mind you, it's only our National Athem, which has no relevance to us as a nation.
 3. Jerusalem seems to be an all time favourite. The words were penned in the beer garden of the Earl of March in Lavant (near Chichester)
 4. Kind of lost it with this place, but I've missed you guys!!!! (well, some of you)
 5. As a society, many of our basic laws are based upon the 10 commandmants and the Christian way of life. Out of interest, do muslims have to swear on the holy bible when they are in court??? Finally, how many agnostic/atheists would start praying once their airliner caught fire and they were plummeting toward their certain doom? Just asking.
 6. Only took me 30 seconds. What do I win?
 7. I prefer.... He'll shoot He'll score He'll eat your labrador Tadanari, Tadanari
 8. What the mutual friend or me?
 9. Carlton Leach at W ham last night
 10. I was sat in the row behind them (obviously behaving myself). They were just youngsters who had too much to drink and didn't realise that if you mouth off in what is the home end, you won't get away with it lightly.
 11. Charge them for parking too, if they come round your house to pick it up :-)
 12. Bus 17 from the stadium. LOL at bus No 4. Can I change buses as that looks far better in terms of in-transit entertainment?
 13. I got Um's farewell PM. Does that make me cool?
 14. How pathetic! It was totally taken out of context. Prior to what he said, he did say that as it was the BBC, balance was required and then said what he did. The deputy secretary general of unison says that this strikes fear into public sector workers. I would suggest that when you call 999 and no-one turns up because the ****s are on strike, causes far more fear IMO
 15. There are over 1.2 million employers in the UK, however there are only 33,000 with more than 50 employees and only 2,900 with 500+ employees. At the top end (ie more than 500+ employees), the pensions on offer are generally excellent. You would still expect a decent pension in the mid-market (50 to 500 employees). However, this leaves 1 million+ businesses that are in fact very small, with more than 800,000 businesses employing fewer than 9 employees. The vast majority of these businesses cannot afford a pension scheme. The stakeholder scheme was designed to encourage pension uptake, however the government are now having to force it upon smaller businesses. This does not take into account the 3m businesses that are effectively one man bands. Often those who work in large corporates, who then move to the public sector, are often as far divorced from reality as those who have only worked in the public sector. It really shouldn't be about public sector versus private sector, but SME versus the rest!
 16. Sorry, missed that above. RIP Gary
 17. They have just said in breaking news that it was suicide!
 18. If they are being paid by the tax payer, the tax payer should benefit. Community work for the number of hours equal to their benefits divided by the minimum wage should be the minimum time to give. Making our environment a nicer place to live is beneficial to all of us. It may help build a sense of pride in addition to providing work experience. If we train them in fire fighting skills, we could use them to cover the firemen when they next decide to go on strike.
 19. But we've still spent less than Brum, West Ham, Leicester, Boro and even Burnley, yet we are riding high.
 20. OK, yes an estimate of value, so here is the money spent (according to the same site):

Club Purchase price

West Ham United £21,120,000

Birmingham City £19,025,600

Leicester City £16,689,200

Middlesbrough FC £16,552,800

Burnley FC £11,831,600

Southampton FC £9,196,000

Ipswich Town £8,998,000

Nottingham Forest £8,320,400

Reading FC £7,801,200

Bristol City £6,314,000

Portsmouth FC £6,234,800

Derby County £5,989,720

Coventry City £5,561,600

Brighton & Hove Albion £5,174,400

Hull City £4,496,800

Blackpool FC £4,320,800

Barnsley FC £4,272,400

Cardiff City £4,158,000

Doncaster Rovers £3,352,800

Crystal Palace £2,829,200

Peterborough United £2,235,200

Watford FC £1,980,000

Millwall FC £1,645,600

Leeds United £1,408,000

Still not bad
 21. According to the link, the value of our squad is 15th in the Championship http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/championship/startseite/wettbewerb_GB2.html .. and here is our squad broken down by player http://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/en/southampton-fc/startseite/verein_180.html Proof that money doesn't buy success........because when you put it into perspective, Doncaster have a more valuable squad.

1 West Ham United £64,000,000

2 Leicester City £33,500,000

3 Birmingham City £32,500,000

4 Ipswich Town £28,500,000

5 Middlesbrough FC £27,000,000

6 Nottingham Forest £26,500,000

7 Blackpool FC £24,500,000

8 Cardiff City £24,500,000

9 Hull City £23,000,000

10 Portsmouth FC £22,500,000

11 Burnley FC £21,000,000

12 Leeds United £20,000,000

13 Crystal Palace £18,500,000

14 Doncaster Rovers £18,000,000

15 Southampton FC £16,500,000

16 Bristol City £16,000,000

17 Reading FC £16,000,000

18 Watford FC £15,500,000

19 Brighton £13,500,000

20 Derby County £12,500,000

21 Barnsley FC £11,000,000

22 Millwall FC £11,000,000

23 Coventry City £9,600,000

24 Peterborough United £6,000,000

22. What's that coming over the hill, is it De Ridder? Is it De Ridder? What's that coming over the hill, is it De Ridder? Is it De Ridder?
 23. Give me a shout if you want tickets. A good mate of mine is MD of GFS. Have enjoyed Corporate Hospitality a few times, the most recent being against Shrewsbury. A good day out when Saints aren't playing or I can't see them away.
 24. One of the funniest things I've seen was against Villa at home a few years back. A scrap errupted between Yates and Que Pasa involving Saints Lads and a load of Villa in fancy dress. Was quite comical watching batman, superman et al have a go.
