  1. Nail. Hit. Head.
  2. I would argue that the MP’s represent the 9,347,304 who voted for them, as opposed to the 254,417 that voted for Corbyn. If the MP's only represent members of the Labour party, that leaves circa 9m people without representation. Maybe, but if he had needed 50 MP's to support his nomination, he wouldn't have made it onto the ballot.
  3. Exactly. I want to know why "the man of the people" Jezza, who was voted for by the people and has the largest mandate of any Labour leader, wants to change the rules by which he was selected. Surely only a dictator-styled leader would change the rules to suit them (eg Stalin, Mao, Hitler, Thatcher), not an "honest" (ahem) and "principled" (ahem) man like Jezza?
  4. Yes that is correct. In the Labour party leadership elections, you need to have nominations from 20% of Labour MP's. He is changing the rules so that the leader, gets automatically put forward. SO he bangs on about his mandate, yet wants to move the goalposts to secure his position. If he is so sure of his mandate, why is he changing the rules? Maybe this is the new kind of politics he is bringing to the table. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/jeremy-corbyn-plans-change-to-labour-party-rules-to-head-off-plot-to-oust-him-by-2020-a6732486.html
  5. i don't know why anyone thinks jezza is one for democracy. Not when he is looking to change the voting rules that got him elected. If he is so sure of his mandate, why change the rules??
  6. Crouch = robotic thing? Or was that after he left?
  7. He's an English tutor and bearing in mind how much the teachers bang on about how long they work, I am surprised he has the time for it to be honest (Especially with two kids as well). Anyway, let's hope he's a good socialist and is declaring this extra income for tax purposes And let's hope he's a good teacher who doesn't impose his views on his pupils.
  8. A great example of a capitalist, going under the guise of a socialist, using his blog generate some extra income. Hats off to him. #anotherangryvoiceusinghisvoicetomakesomeextracashontheside
  9. Oh dear.... So the Swedes have now been caught out covering up mass sex attacks in 2014 and 2015 at Europe's largest youth festival... http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/775235c8-b834-11e5-bf7e-8a339b6f2164.html#axzz3wx0KrhSG http://www.680news.com/2016/01/11/swedish-police-have-confirmed-that-there-were-widespread-sexual-assaults-at-music-festival-in-stockholm-last-summer-but-denied-a/ I don't know about you, but Liberalism to me is about liberty and equality. Such things as 'freedom of speech' and 'freedom of the press' are central. Therefore, why are those with a liberal agenda, choosing to lie to us about certain events? Are liberals just as hypocritical as your average lefty???
  10. Just for a minute, think about the event... If up to 1,000 men, sexaually assulted over 80 women, raped 2 women and robbed the rest, at Victoria or Waterloo station tonight, would you not be outraged? Why the silence by the media outlets? Why the silence on social media? Yet some knob in America, states something utterly moronic and people are foaming at the mouth. For what it's worth, my thoughts go out to the women of Cologne, Stuttgartt and Hamburg
  11. From what I've seen, many hundreds of men were in the square. It is unlikely that all of them were involved, but the media blackout is quite frankly disgusting. The number of assualts reported is over 100, including 80 sexual assaults and 2 cases of rape. Donald Trump states a moronic case for banning muslims from America, Twitter and Facebook go into meltdown. 80 women sexually assaulted at the train station in Cologne and nothing. Zip. Zilch. Are bleeding heart liberals and lefties that selective in their faux outrage???
  12. Absolutely shocking. A gang of 1000 men sexually assault dozens of women on NYE in Cologne. This happened a week ago, yet only now are the media outlets covering it. The German authorities were quick to point out that links should not be made between asylum seekers and this terrible 'attack'. Now that 8 arrests have been made, all of which are asylum seekers, I can see some tensions rising in Germany. Lying about such events and covering them up does not help the situation
  13. Not only does JC seem to be dividing the Labour party, he seems to be splitting the SWF lefties on here as well. Up until the last election, lefties on here were united in their struggle against the coalition / tories. Now they are arguing amongst themselves. The centralists and right-wingers on this board, have been sidelined.
  14. ... as the 'rapper' who said the words and filmed the incident, is now trying to get publicity out of it for a record deal.
  15. David Davies and Alan Whitehead make the points against very well. I am inclined to agree with them. i think bombing Syria with a couple of museum pieces held together by superglue will achieve **** all i think we should do more to help Iraq and only get involved in Syria with a military contribution when there is an end game. The question of bomb or not bomb is too simplistic in a complete cluster **** conflict
  16. He may be presenting an alternative, but if you look at the reactions of his MP's, can you hand on heart say this is good for the Labour party? It was a 'good' political manouvre, brought about by favourable conditions. Had the forecasts been less favourable, he would have pressed ahead. Corbyn's mandate to be Leader of the Opposition comes from two separate elements: 1. He was elected leader of the Labour Party 2. Labour won the second-highest number of seats in the General Election. Strange how Corbyn talks a lot about the first part, but doesn't dwell on the second. That's because Labour only got as many seats as they did because they were standing on a more moderate platform. If they had been standing on Corbyn's platform, would you honestly see them as having as many seats? To have any chance of power and making a real difference, you have to win the middle ground. Surely socialism-light is more palletable to the populus rather than an anti-west anti-capitalist anti-establishment pro-hypocricy protest party? A strong opposition gives real choice at the ballot box. I cannot see Corbyn ever winning under any condition. Stick David Milliband in and the tories will have a real battle at the next election...
  17. Because most normal people want to see an effective opposition. It's good for politics. It's good for the country. Cameron and Osbourne have a free reign at the moment, but an effective opposition forces them to stay on point with policy and not to go too far. It is one thing I liked about the coalition. The Lib Dems did keep the tories in check. They had a balancing effect and balance is what is needed in these tough times. If your politics are right of centre, it doesn't mean that you disagee with everything left of centre. But right now, there is no left of centre. The lunatics have taken over the asylum and the country is worse off for it. So I genuinely hope Labour sort themselves out, because the Lib Dems aint up to much these days.
  18. I don't think Corbyn will make it to the bi-election... He believes he's the son of God and the world is run by invisible aliens and today David Icke spoke out in favour of Jeremy Corbyn over Syria. Mr Icke, who also contends the Queen and most of the world's leaders are the result of humans breeding with reptiles who live inside the moon, said that if Mr Corbyn's shadow cabinet quits it'll be good for Labour.
  19. Ah, but lefties don't mind other lefties who murder and butcher far more people than Hitler ever did. Remember, lefties can do no wrong.
  20. Great post. The lunatics have taken over the asylum. I really despair, because at times like these, we (that's righties and lefties) need strong opposition. What we have right now, is a complete farce... Next week's bi-election will be interesting as poeple draw reference to Corbyn's mandate, which is not legitimate with a floored vote to get him elected, as this will be a watershed moment. If Labour perform badly, Corbyn will be gone IMO. However, if Labour go well, this will add legitimacy to his leadership...
  21. ... So he is "lucky" with lower debt interest payments and higher tax receipts, but no doubt it would have been his fault if tax receipts were lower and interest on debt was higher.
  22. Completely and utterly out of his depth
