  1. "who are you?" ...even some of his front bench laughed at him!!!
  2. On a side note, what happens to UKIP after the referendum? if we leave, they are no longer required. if we stay, they have no mandate. Therefore is the refurendum more about removing UKIP from the political landscape and the tories winning back the lost centre right votes?? just a thought
  3. I would welcome the Australian way, to get away from the notion that the NHS is free.
  4. .... this is not helped by politicians on both sides banging on about the NHS being free at the point of delivery. It's not free. It's been pre-paid by the tax payer. It's only free to those who don't pay taxes or don't pay into the system. I would prefer them to say that there would be no further charges for care at the point of use.
  5. That is not the whole picture though is it? ... the number of NHS staff went up by 23,527 between 2013 & 2014. There are now 126,832 more NHS staff employed, than there were in 2004. SOURCE: http://www.hscic.gov.uk/catalogue/PUB16973/nhs-staf-2004-2014-over-rep.pdf
  6. Corbyn is a moderate?? Really??? This bloke should stick to teaching English.
  7. I would prefer the truth, with a left or right spin on it, as opposed to a complete blackout to suit a political agenda. The non reporting of mass sex attacks in Sweden and Germany is scandalous. In Germany it took days for the truth to come. Thank God for social media, as it was only the outrage on there that forced the media to come clean.
  8. When you start to go into more detail on the survey, it is perceived that reporting in Sweden and Germany is more inaccurate than accurate, when compared to Britain on immigration issues. https://d25d2506sfb94s.cloudfront.net/cumulus_uploads/document/n2brop7n28/Eurotrack_January_MediaRepresentation_Website.pdf So whilst Britain may seem more right wing on immigration, it is perceived as being more accurate. I guess when you consider the mass cover up of events in Germany and Sweden over the last month or so, it's no surprise. So this makes for an interesting question.... Would you prefer a more left-wing bias in the media or would you prefer more accurate reporting in the media?
  9. I personally don't think there is a simple left and right. The good old political compass does a better job with the left-right and authoritarian-liberal angles which accomodate different dynamics. For example an extreme communist shares many traits with a fascist, where one is left and the other is right and both are authoritarian.
  10. Spot on Hamilton. That article is a crime against analytics...
  11. i agree that the media is biased towards the right in Britain especially when it comes to the press. You don't need to do a lot of research to work that out. Just look at the circulation of the daily mail, tory graph and the times. Their readership far outweighs those of the mirror and Groaniad. More people read right leaning publications. We can deduce therefore, that either lefties don't read newspapers (either that or their socialist principles lead them to share their papers with everyone) or more people are in the centre / centre right ground. The fact that the Right have governed more over the last 70 years, would suggest it is the latter, which you could argue means that the press accurately reflects the views of the people. With regards to crime and immigration, Germany and Sweden are not representative. Germany has taken over 1 million refugees in the last year. The recent and ongoing issues regarding mass sexual assaults in Germany have been blatantly covered up by the German media, to suit a left wing agenda. Do you honestly think that if there were 500+ sexual assaults at Waterloo station on NYE, that the British media wouldn't even mention it for FIVE days??? As for Sweden, mass sexual assaults at their summer festival only came out in January. Again, would you see that happening here??.?
  12. In the chart on the original post on this thread, the chart clearly shows that Britain is behind Finland on the economy, housing and health. The UK only leads on crime and immigration. On three of the five issues and overall, Finland is perceived as more right wing than Britain. Either that or they can't draw charts I may not be playing a blinder, but at least I am not Ali Dia LOL
  13. The perception of the two most left-wing countries, when it comes to crime and immigration, are Germany and Sweden. Bearing in mind the mass cover ups over the period of the survey, with mass sexual assaults and a rise in crime as a result of the migrant crisis in both countries, it's no surprise that this perception is held. To to ask people questions about crime and immigration and try to pretend that Sweden and Germany, who have had major issues in the last few months, are representative of European countries is a complete load of bollarks As as I said. Move on, nothing to see here
  14. lets just leave the economy (probably the most important issue for most people) out. thats like saying, if you ignore Southampton, Pompey are the best club in Hampshire lol
  15. The title states that the "British Press most right-wing in Europe" Then when you look at their diagram, it shows that Finland is actually the most right-wing. So their headline is plain wrong, by their own evidence!!! Then in the detail of their text, they then state that the "British press is the most right-wing out of seven European countries". Well last time I checked, there were more than 7 European countries in Europe. So, some questions... 1. Why are they ignoring Finland, for the sake of fabricating a headline???? 2. Where's Spain, Italy, Portugal, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Belgium, Netherlands, Ireland, Austria. Why are they not in Europe????? My conclusion.... Yougov are clearly a bunch of left-wing attention seeking nutjobs. Move along, nothing to see here.
  16. Just don't tell anyone about the "Pompey are..." autofil or those idiots from down the M27 will think there is a conspiracy going on LOL
  17. Lefties obviuously use more derogotary terms when searching the Tories than the othe way round. just lolled when I searched for " lefties are...".
  18. OK, where shall I start... MILITANT union chief Christine Blower’s pay package rose by an inflation-busting ten per cent to £154,000 last year. Mrs Blower, head of the National Union of Teachers, saw contributions to her pension rise £10,000 to £36,128. Her basic salary went up from £103,003 to £106,235 — and overall her remuneration package increased from £140,167 to £154,556 in the year 2010-2011 and then there's.... UCATT general secretary Steve Murphy enjoyed an eyewatering 15.8 per cent jump to £116,581. Not all of them are double digit rises, but even single digit rises fly in the face of their members, when they are already on six figure salaries.... Union chief Len McCluskey has pocketed a £5,000 pay rise while thousands of his members struggle with wage freezes. The powerful Left-wing Unite boss, pictured below, saw his package jump to £140,281 last year – just short of the salary paid to David Cameron. The 3.7 per cent rise came as thousands of Unite’s public sector members face the fifth consecutive year of pay freezes and below-inflation rises. I could go on, but I will be here all day. So how about you post details of any Union boss that has had a pay freeze, to show solidarity with his/her members. Good luck!!!
  19. Then he is a model to behold for Union leaders, many of whom have received double-digit percentage pay rises, whilst their members (who pay for these wages) cope with pay freezes. It doesn't take a lot of effort to find examples of extreme hypocrisy from Union bosses...
  20. Because when he has air time, he should be using that 100% for the benefit of his members and to argue their cause. Sounding like a Nazi, does not do his members justice. But like most union leaders, they couldn't give a flying **** about their members
  21. And there was me thinking that a union leader was supposed to represent and stick up for his members. Silly me.
  22. They don't need to be terrorists... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3416343/Sweden-asylum-worker-22-stabbed-death-frenzied-attack-CHILD-migrant-centre-refugee-boy-15-arrested-murder.html ... some of them will be deeply psychologically damaged. It's not a case of just taking them in, but dealing with deep psychological conditions with specialist care... I'm not saying we shouldn't take them in but there are extra considerations. It is not a case of simply having an open door policy. In the terrible incident in Sweden, it was a the daughter of a Lebanese migrant from beirut that was the unfortunate victim
  23. Yes and you make a fair point. Both left and right were against Germany as our freedom depended on it and the brave souls came from both sides of the political spectrum. So I'll wind my neck in. However, any pacifists opposed to the war has been shown to be wrong. There are a number of morally justifiable wars / interventions. I am intelligent enough to recognise that some wars are justifiable and some are not. For example, the 1st Iraq war was justifiable. The 2nd was not as the premise for going in was a lie. But to take a position of being anti war for all conflicts is just ridiculous. In an ideal world, I would share their view. But we don't live in an ideal world and unfortunately war is sometimes a necessary evil. i can't wait for corbyn to fly out to Syria to negotiate with ISIL. Oh wait a minute. He won't do it. This is not the IRA were talking about. He knows his head would be mailed back with a first class stamp. So jizza what are we to do? Won't fight. Can't negotiate. The mans a sitting duck. Meanwhile innocents are getting slaughtered. Believe it it or not, I want a strong opposition. Someone to keep the government on their toes. A protest communist party that is out of touch with normal working people won't acheive anything. Despite the lefts hatred of new labour, they can be credited with things like the minimum wage, which have turned out to be a success. Surely a watered down version of social policies is far better than none at all?? At the end of the day it is about balance.
  24. ... And how wrong the left were. Millions of people being exterminated in death camps. As wars go, it was morally right for us to do our bit to defeat the nazis. Whilst there are questionable wars, pacifists don't recognise that sometimes it is a necessary evil... ... but at least the left of the day weren't suggesting that we send up the spitfires with out any bullets to keep the unions happy.
  25. Were we wrong to oppose nazi Germany?? if Corbyn were pm back then, we'd all be living under the nazi jack boot, whilst jIzza would be telling us how he stuck to his principles (in German)
