Maybe, but the Chinese haven't exactly helped themselves with their treatment of people with African origin

Meanwhile the EU apologise to Italy for their crap response

Agree I thought the same. I've been on here a little more than I normally am, which isnt much nowadays

Is this the first case of poster-to-poster transmission of the use of the word "pal" to make a point? I believe patient zero was Shurlock, with his constant use of the word to make a point. Now that this infection is spreading, I urge all forum users to self isolate and stay off this thread. Stay off this Thread | Protect Forum Users | Save SaintsWeb

This week, a group of Italian mayors and other politicians bought a page in Germany's Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper to remind Germany that it was never made to pay back its debts after World War Two LOL

EU’s top scientist, dramatically quit last night because of the bloc’s response to the virus, saying he had “lost faith” in the EU Meanwhile EU finance ministers said on Wednesday they still hadn’t agreed an economic response. Northern EU member states like the Netherlands and Germany fear they’ll end up carrying other countries’ debts, while hard-hit nations in the south like Italy and Spain say not enough is being done

My parents gave me their Grand Piano when they down sized last year. Nice bit of furniture but couldn't play it for sh*t. Just learned Still Dre, for any hip hop fans out there.

It's old technology. In my first proper job after university in the early 90's, I worked for a medical devices manufacturers and they were making and selling CPAP machines back then

As my Dad once said... "Haters don't hate you. They hate themselves. Because you're a reflection of what they want to be"

It's all okay, it's just like the flu

100,000 get coronavirus and everyone wants to wear a mask. 30 million have AIDS and no one wants to wear a condom

The government is reportedly contacting local councils for what is known as 'Excess Death Contingency Planning' in the event of a worst case scenario relating to the spread of coronavirus. The planning, which is thought to include discussions with local authorities about potential new large burial sites, is thought to be standard practice when an outbreak of such a virus is taking place

500,000 die "Globally" from the flu. A recent government study, looks at a potential scenario where 80% of the UK will get Coronavirus with potentially 500,000 deaths in the UK alone

And now the first cases of re-infection are occurring. Normally we build up resistance to a virus after having it. https://news.sky.com/story/coronavirus-japan-confirms-first-case-of-person-being-reinfected-with-covid-19-11944295

It's kind of strange that the Chinese have a virology lab, which studies bat related viruses, just round the corner from the Wuhan food market. There are thousands of live food markets in China, operating every day. Surely, this kind of virus would be more common, with over population and the close proximity of humans and wild animals? Interesting read: https://qz.com/1805422/wuhan-virology-lab-unable-to-quell-china-coronavirus-conspiracies/

How can you negotiate a trade deal with the EU, when the EU want the Elgin Marbles, ancient Greek sculptures taken to Britain more than 200 years ago and now on display in the British Museum, returned to Greece. Are these jokers for real?
-
Badger, I salute you. Probably the best response to any poster on this thread. Of course they want to keep the fish to themselves LOOOOOOL
-
I guess it shows that the EU, whilst striking a deal with Canada, has completely failed in getting anything important with two major trading partners, who are a similar distance away?

That is incredibly blinkered way of looking at things. You are assuming that a business only survives because through regulation, they are forced to follow the same rules as others. The fact is, if one pub is better than the other pub, by offering customers what they want (whether that be a better product, better service, better atmosphere or better prices), that pub will prosper despite the regulations, not because of them. It’s the same reason why the iPhone, owned by a US company and manufactured by the Chinese is the bestselling handset in Europe, despite there being no trade deals with either the US or the Chinese. Give customers what they desire and the regulators can go **** themselves

Interesting article for environmental policy... is it there to protect the environment or EU industry? https://www.ft.com/content/0432eb26-15f2-11ea-9ee4-11f260415385

Indeed.... just received this in an email from the Dept for International Trade...

UK Global Tariff consultation

The UK left the European Union on 31 January 2020. For the first time in almost fifty years the UK is free to set its tariff rates on imported goods. To inform the development of the new UK Global Tariff, the Government has launched a four-week public consultation and is seeking your views. The consultation began on 6 February 2020 and closes on 5 March 2020 at 23:59 GMT. This consultation seeks: views on a potential series of amendments to the EU’s Common External Tariff to create a bespoke UK tariff regime; specific feedback on individual products or commodity codes of importance to you (including the corresponding tariff rate); and information on your interactions with Most Favoured Nation tariffs and the importance of tariffs to sectors that are relevant to you. The bespoke UK tariff regime will enter into force on 1 January 2021 and replace the EU’s Common External Tariff. To take part in the consultation and have your say on the new UK Global Tariff, visit GOV.UK.
