  1. I've always got time for you Hamster, just not enough to spot the second one.
  2. We've sponsored two players. Could we get a SWF consortium together?
  3. You can buy mailing and telemarketing lists of Sky subscribers.
  4. Not satellite direct by any chance?
  5. My post count on the lounge is 10 to 1 compared with the main board. The Motoring Forum is pretty good too.
  6. I got his PM which was a farewell with no real detail so not too sure myself. I found him a useful ally in the Lowe debates, so just as well he is gone (Lowe that is, not UP) I miss the UP vs GM (where is he these days?) and the UP vs NC spats. It livened up the main board.
  7. OOH LA LA PAPA Vous êtes offside Comprendez?? Merci
  8. Fair enough. It's difficult to argue over something that neither of us can define as it needs BTF's input - she started it.
  9. Well here is a poll that says different: http://www.justtheflight.co.uk/news/18197738-british-airways-and-virgin-top-customer-poll.html http://www.reuters.com/article/pressRelease/idUS105470+16-Mar-2009+PRN20090316 ANyway, BTF talked about improvement, so unless you can provide customer satisfaction ratings from when they were nationalised, then your point is?????
  10. British Telecom, British Gas and British Airways as a starter for 10.
  11. Absolutely spot on. Maggie mullered the National Front who virtually disappeared altogether. Dave will see off the BNP no problem.
  12. Not sure about Gob****e as the sponsor though
  13. But the New Labour economic disaster hasn't been factored in yet, nor has government borrowing. It also doesn't take the state of the nation in 1979 into account or the fact that Labour took over a country on the up. Either way, even your interpretation of the facts (without the considerations mentioned) still shows that on balance, the tories performed better.
  14. I'm too close to the centre of the map to be fascist. I'm comfortable with my political compass being almost slap bang in the middle. Gives me the chance to take potshots at all sides. At the moment, Labour get it as they are the ones who are ****ing up. As for immigration, I don't have a problem with it as long as it is controlled (on the basis of the contibution of the immigrant or the need of the genuine refugee). That's not racsism, that is realism.
  15. That was Real GDP, which takes account of inflation. I am happy to remove it if you like: 1979 = £3,542 1997 = £14,235 I make that a 302% improvement. 1998 = £15,033 2008 = £23,523 Now, shall we factor in Government borrowing? I'm no teacher but I can see that whether you include or exclude inflation, it makes no difference. On average, the wealth of people improved more under the tories. Now, shall we look at the gap between the rich and the poor over the respective periods? Probably not, to save you some face. We could look at UK Manufacturing decline (which fell less under Maggie than it did in the years preceding her and the years since), but it won't support your envy-driven class-hatred agenda.
  16. No one is perfect, they just dragged the UK out of the gutter. Here are the UK GDP per capita figures since 1979: 1979 = £11,459 1980 = £11,203 1981 = £11,049 1982 = £11,294 1983 = £11,698 1984 = £11,990 1985 = £12,390 1986 = £12,858 1987 = £13,416 1988 = £14,063 1989 = £14,344 1990 = £14,415 1991 = £14,164 1992 = £14,149 1993 = £14,431 1994 = £15,010 1995 = £15,424 1996 = £15,830 1997 = £16,311 I make that a 42.34% improvement. 1998 = £16,853 1999 = £17,376 2000 = £17,995 2001 = £18,367 2002 = £18,685 2003 = £19,130 2004 = £19,569 2005 = £19,842 2006 = £20,288 2007 = £20,768 2008 = £20,790 You're the teacher, you do the maths
  17. So re-distributing wealth from the wealthier nations to the poorer nations is not socialist????? All of the legislation imposed on us is capitalist????? Not sure about that.
  18. Only because they had an economic legacy that they didn't manage to **** up until now - the worst recession in recorded history. Having said that, Bliar is more preferable to Clown
  19. Raw capitalism didn't create the EU, maybe the Common Market, but not the EU. This was a socialist driven ideology / creation which has nothing to do with capitalism. Let's all tear down the borders and get together on one great socialist love fest. However, in doing so, those who are less fortunate (due to their previous socialist / communist masters) naturally wanted to migrate to the wealthier nations (made wealthy by capitalism). So, actually, maybe you are right, they came here because capitalism made us an attractive nation to come to. Had we been a real socialist / communist society, they certainly would not have come. As for cheap labour, had we not paid for millions to sit on their arses, rather than making them work, we would not have needed anywhere near the immigration we did. So perhaps the socialists did create the problem afterall.
  20. ...and is ironically supported by David Cameron (who was a founder member). http://www.uaf.org.uk/aboutUAF.asp?choice=4 I didn't have Dave down as a Commie.
  21. Look, just give up debating with someone who makes things up as he goes along to suit his argument. I have already pointed out that only the UK, Ireland and Sweden did not impose quotas whilst everybody else did. Even when Labour's Immigration Minister admits it (http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...on-policy.html), the lefties will still not have anything bad said against their precious party.
  22. OK, I was getting a bit carried away. I'll retract my comment regarding the voters as they were only blindly voting for a party based on the politics of envy. Labour don't get off the hook so easily as it was their failed policy which has resulted in the rise of the BNP. Back in 2005, Michael Howard was arguing for quotas in the run up to the general election. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk_politics/4243067.stm Read the article and you can see the clear difference between Tory and Labour policy. The Tories wanted a quota, Labour didn't. That is part of the problem. As you seem to be clearly unable to back up anything you say with historical accuracy or fact and it looks like you are making things up as you go along, it makes you look the tool. ....and as it happens, even Labour's Immigration Minister admits it (not you are a tool, just the fact they've failed): http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1181003/We-got-wrong-Woolas-finally-admits-Labours-failed-immigration-policy.html
  23. When the A8 (Accession Countries) joined the EU in 2004, all 15 existing members of the EU were allowed to impose limits for up to 7 years. All countries, except for Ireland, Sweden and the UK did so. You can continue to peddle the leftie lie that there was nothing that could be done, but you can't get away with it.......Labour failed (unsurprisingly) and alas the BNP have made political gain from Labour's failures. Acually, if you want anyone to blame for the BNP, it's as much the morons who voted for Labour as it is the morons who voted for the BNP.
  24. But surely if you change your policy and it is too little too late, then by definition you have failed. It is this failure to deal with it before it was too late that has given rise to the BNP. In the same way, a failure to deal with the boom built on debt resulted in the worst recession on record. Yes, Labour have now changed their economic policy, but again it is too little too late and we are now suffering the consequences.
