I disagree. The will of the French and Dutch people was clear. The EU constitution needed a referendum in those respective countries. The people of those countries made their opinion clear. The EU changed the wording to a "Treaty" and pressed on in collaboration with the French and Dutch governments, against the will of the people. No one in the EU said "hang on a minute, the French and Dutch disagree". They showed complete disregard for the peoples of sovereign nations. It is scandalous and I cannot for the life of me not see how anyone can find this acceptable. With the Brexit vote, the eurocrats showed utter contempt for the will of the British people, talking of punishing us.
-
Well you only need to look at the attitudes of the Eurocrats, wanting to "punish" the British people for their Brexit vote (the EU's words, not mine). Then fast forward to the Spanish government punishing the Catalan people for wanting to have a say. Regimes like this can only exist when the freedom of expression removed and democracy is undermined.
-
The spanish should have taken a leaf out of the anti democratic EU's book. Allow the referendum then ignore the result, like the EU did in France and the Netherlands. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

Unemployment has ALWAYS been higher after a Labour Government. The fact they are the party of the 'working' man, is quite laughable really. Sure some tory governments have got it wrong, but others haven't... Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

I think what little johnny is saying is that he defends Britain First's opposition to extremist islamist gatherings, especially where hate preachers spout anti west and anti Christian propaganda. But he feels that BF don't go far enough. In his view, he thinks they should steam in and kick the crap out of the islamists... Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

Calm down mate. They only want to replace cricket on the village green with a good old game of Taharrush Gamea instead. -
Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES
Johnny Bognor replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
We have become so used to these attacks, that another terrorist attack in London today barely draws any comment on this thread anymore (apart from a couple of comments and a joke). I guess that's because it is part and parcel of living in a big city. Perhaps it is time for this thread to be closed????? -
Depends which population figure you use as there seems to be a few out there. €2,000,000,000 divided by 289,000 = €6,920???
-
The number being bandied about is around €2 billion, although that is for all infrastructure projects, not just tunnels as I suggested earlier. So I will retract that. However, a substantial part of this money was spent on motorway infrastructure (including tunnels).... motorways and tunnels which are mostly empty, as far as I could see when I was there. A bit like the EU funded marina that never has any boats in it... In fact, if you are looking for autumn/winter sun AND want a graphic illustration of how the EU wastes money, Madeira is the perfect location lols This is an interesting read... double the per capita national debt of Portugal, who themselves had to be bailed out http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/portugal/9191749/Billions-of-euros-of-EU-money-yet-Madeira-has-built-up-massive-debts.html

Don't send him there. He will spontaneously com-bust when he sees that for every 8 square kilometers of the island, there is an EU funded tunnel. We're talking about a staggering €6,920 EU spend per capita, on tunnels, that hardly anyone uses. Maybe we should have a SWF funded "Post EU - The Way Forward" trip for both Remainers and Leavers to look at how well the EU "invests" our money???

A diametrically opposed cunning plan to mine (Pretend to stay in and then leave and hope nobody notices..)

... would put Corbyn in power! Just because you're 'better' educated, does not meant that you are not clueless or, at best, naive

Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES
Johnny Bognor replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
Let me help you out. The key word is "accident". Accidents happen. They are in no way comparable to people who deliberately murder innocent people and any attempt to compare them like for like makes you an apologist. Lefties like you want to challenge the ideology of white supremism, yet will not even recognise the murderous islamist jihaddi ideology and scream racist at every opportunity. Both are repugnant ideologies that need challenging. Apologists have blood on their hands. So much for caring sharing lefties. Bunch of ****ing hypocrites.. Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk -

Terrorist Attacks - WARNING: CONTAINS DISTRESSING IMAGES
Johnny Bognor replied to sadoldgit's topic in The Lounge
Judging by the lack of Facebook profile filters and hashtags this morning, it seems people are getting bored of this Islamic terrorism lark. Yesterday only took 14 innocent lives.... Hardly even newsworthy these days.... Maybe our collective message to Islamic State should be "jog on, you're boring us now. You can take as many lives as you like, but please stop boring us"?? In other news, the weather will be warm with some bright sunny spells, with the possibility of rain showers... -

Ive been lurking LOL. Actually ive been on a GDPR Practitioner Couse to understand the implications of the new EU data protection regulations. Anyway, why should cunning plans not be part of the process?? Was not the idea to hoodwink us all into being part of a single EU state not cunning? Maybe not, as some if us, at least, could see through it... Sent from my SM-G920F using Tapatalk

http://www.reuters.com/article/us-bmw-mini-netherlands-idUSBREA1G0UL20140217 This goes back to 2014, pre-dating the referendum by 2 years. As I said, I guess it just depends on how you want to spin it
-
Up to 2007 mini engines were manufactured in Brazil. The second generation engines were built in France and currently all diesel engines are built in Austria. So if the electric motors are built in Germany and then shipped here for assembly, this is no different to the past minis or present diesel minis. Granted that the petrol Cooper engines are built here, but they are also built on the continent. Additional production for the mini in the Netherlands came into place in 2014, which pre-dates the referendum by 2 years. I guess it just depends on how you want to spin it
