  1. I think the way Premier League has gone in the last few years and the general widening of finances between clubs clouds this view. I've followed Saints for nearly 50 years and last season was my favourite since that 89 season with "4 up front". So very few seasons between, were we ever really going to challenge for much? How many times did we get to the cups and it's all "We have to prioritise the league" Last season we were chasing promotion and went up on the final day at Wembley!!! For those of us who just want to see our team be in contention for things, whatever division, it was a great year πŸ™‚
  2. I suspect it was as you say, part of promotion in contract
  3. Snap! Booked someone's drive in Hillingdon for Β£5, 6 minutes from station, 22 mins to Wembley Park for Β£4.
  4. One thing for certain, he gives confidence to the defence and comes for what a keeper should. He gives us a little more stability and has maybe forced us to look for a longer ball on occasions which pins the other team back a little more. It was a controversial call to throw him in over Lumley, but seems to have been a wise one. (So far)☺️
  5. Unless results do suddenly change from here in, it must be pretty short odds that we'll be playing West Brom in the semis. (probably away first)
  6. Could anyone enlighten me to the reason for the 18.00 kick-off? TV?
  7. Whilst the choice of player is obviously causing confusion and bewilderment, the actual tactical idea is ridiculous πŸ™„ For once, our press was working and it was only are constant threat through Alcarez finding space that allowed us to not cede possession and territory to Arsenal. We've just handed complete control of the game over. Beggars belief
  8. Unfortunately this is about right. πŸ˜”
  9. Just on the off chance, I'd be interested in spare tickets (1 adult + 1 14 yrs old or 2 adults) if anyone can't make it.

  12. In my nearly 50 years of following Saints, I don't think I've ever been more disappointed over a team selection πŸ˜•
  13. What I find interesting is that Leicester, who many pundits predict to be up there competing for Champions league again, will be playing with 1 half of our recent defence πŸ€”
