Things you never knew were an Olyimpic event
dubai_phil replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Muppet Show
Looks like we have to cross another event off the list for 2012. Seems our leading lights may have peaed a bit too soon in training http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/2589790/Boy-in-hospital-after-gas-lighting-stunt-backfires.html -
As Wade said, you are now an official ITK hero because you named your source and added the good old caveats.. I heard from the bloke that washes the cars that park in the cement works if there was anything happening and he said yeah right lol I take that to mean it's like yeah you're right it's really happening and we'll all lol at the amount of money we're going to be able to waste (oops spend) over the next two seasons or maybe not
-
:-) Actually, sounds to me like they are being bought by a consortium

Oi!!! You're bl**dy well BANNED after last week's effort. Don't you know that JP has got this whole season sorted? 4-2-1-2-1 and you on here sending in the lucky weather reports. Everyone has their place in the team this year, none of these experienced old pro's doing things their own way We let you out on bail and look what happens Still if you MUST go then better make the most of the fun and entertainment, it'll be Ramadan hours when you get back Oh just to put you in your place - you're missing our one and only annual beer festival for Derby so it BETTER be good (you lucky bstd btw I'm just jealous) :-)

Who would be your next offload to reduce the wage bill if required?
dubai_phil replied to TopGun's topic in The Saints
TBH, nobody wants Skacel at his wage level, so I would expect the only way to reduce the wage costs is for him to be sent out on loan and we pay say 40% of his wages - saves us a bunch more money each week. If he goes on a month's loan with an option to extend once that month is up we could recall him if 1) He actually "gets his head together and is playing football" or 2) If we got offered a better deal. Ditto Euell I would expect. That option would also save us appearance money and potential goal/win bonuses. AND would allow us to bring in some loan players to cover positions we need even IF not as good as we would have wanted if they were off the books completely. -
hmmmm.... desert.....stands.......deserted.....that's it! sell the drilling rights for under the Chapel. Nobody down there would notice a nodding donkey, in fact it would fit in quite well hooray an alternative strategy:-)

Ah, the old "getting the money out of an Arab" story. I'm so glad so few people learn how to do it. We been paid for Safri yet?
-
Unfortunately we will not be able to use SMS for a religous gathering. As we actually are already aware, since it was cursed, it's been used by nasty black magic witches who ensure that anything to do with the club goes wrong and who's early arrival at the ground means that any attempt to turn the pitch into "hallowed" ground just goes up in smoke, along with all our money
-
Crikey, didn't see that one coming did we boys... Lol We hope
-
Let's just keep the melons in their rightful place - MB's avatar. We already have a name for takeover tycoons They're called tyre kickers
-
Oh forgot those, even LESS luxuries to soften the fall. But one thing in their favour, nice hotel, lots of atmosphere in it and so many things to do in the evening within walking distance..... not
-
quick get the video film rights for TSW...
-
lol Probably his bosses from BBC Radio - showing them how much work he does to justify his weekly summariser fee
-
Oh, and wasn't there a big meeting at Staplewood on Monday? What happened to the earlobe cameras then?
-
I have it on very good authority. That you would laugh if something happened
-
Interesting to see the AVERAGE wage in the CCC is 197k. And our average wages last season were??.... (to produce below average performances...) Meanwhile as for Reading, well they are in for a rough time - after all they start this whloe melt down without the luxury of world class catering

The role of Dave Jones (not the Cardiff one) in all this mess

I think I've got one:-) -
The role of Dave Jones (not the Cardiff one) in all this mess

Sorry to drop a fact into another inter-fan row. But I think that you'll find that the Execs of SLH actually DID point out to the shareholders and fans that we were in the financial pooh the day before an important match last season. The reaction of the players and GB appeared to be to give up, the fans went beserk and the "secret" meetings of Wilde Lowe & Crouch were held that eventually led to the execs "deciding" to resign. So it would appear that only 10 months or so ago the Directors (and I assume Jones must have prepared the figures) pointed out that we were in trouble and they were blown away in a wave of "it's ok we live in la la land now" So let's not allow the fact that he appears to have actually done his job stand in the way of a thread that says he could be in breach of the accounting code of ethics. Jeez guys I'm not defending him as I have No idea whether he is any good or not, but come on, we know we are in trouble and these selective memories just make the whole negativity a whole lot worse -
Well, it has to be said that the ones we got from PL level in the last year or so haven't exactly been up to the mark sooooo... More to the point, interesting to see that JP has noticed the "bleedin obvious" which many on here assume they don't see. I'm reminded of a commentator during a playoff game at the end of last season - think it was Darlington but not sure - they had earned 500k from the playoffs and their manager reckoned it would be enough to build a completely new squad for this season. Slight difference in understanding value for money I guess. (And yes I know the quality level is different) but shows the difference between dreams and reality in footie these days
-
So which year was it? I'm sure we missed out during that time, can't be Alzheimers yet:-)
-
How did we get here................. Well first there was like this garden with this bloke and a chick with nothing on and then this snake arrives and like says yo have a bite of this apple Up until then we were pretty well dead set to be a regular top four club, but after that it all sort of started going downhill. Enough of this blame rubbish it was the bl**dy council who stopped us building the new ground after the '76 cup final down at Marlands or West Quay or wherever. We'd have been up and running at the time we had Keegan et al and none of this crud of reverse takeovers would have even got started. Or how about blaming Liverpool fans for Heysel which got English teams banned from Europe and stopped us playing and earning huge bucks after being runners up which would have allowed us to "kick on" Blame games don't work, living in the past makes you miss the day you are in and you end up missing the whole of life reality sucks, but it is all there is. And no I ain't been to Amsterdam in ages
-
Sorry that is rubbish. You missed out the 2,500 24-28 year old single air hostesses and the Bullfrogs Almost as many air hostesses as posts per day of doom and gloom. Know which I'd rather wade through

The flexibility problem is the ticking clock. The transfer window. You can play dare for so long but as it gets closer and closer you HAVE to guarantee you have got the money in, because although it's been extended by a day, if we haven't got the money in by 31st, imagine the panic the next day. Getting fees for loans and wages saved helps the weekly cash flow but wouldn't get the actual overdraft down where the bank have probably demanded it. Again I think that SOME flexiility would have been possible, but our ONLY real income source in the summer months was the Season Ticket sales...... How good were they? Then of course 17,000 turned up for the first game, bingo any hope of taking a risk just evaporated, as I am sure those numbers were probably WORSE than Lowe & Wilde planned for in their business plan when they first came back. I don't think many expected that low an attendance, and you don't have to only be Alpine to doubt that number will grow much this season. We don't know enough about the Davies purchase, maybe it was in installments and another one was coming due that we couldn't afford. Too many variables to guess at, the only hard fact is that window closing.
