  1. Smug grinning smiley winkey thingy.......
  2. The press statement actually says..... Corporations in Dubai have realised that they are committed to building US$50 billion of construction projects in the coming year for which NOBODY will lend them money against "Bonds". The two major suppliers of Mortgages to buyers here have had to merge as they cannot raise enough funds cheaply enough to lend to people who want to buy property, and the "flood" of "Western Investors" who had been brainwashed into investing every dime they had into property speculation have also dried up. This leads to a potential disaster scenario as those properties are still being built by the developers but they don't have buyers for them....... So in other words, the guys down here have more pressing problems and places to use their liquidity than in football. (Oh and by the way, I told you so...... When Charlton made the announcement I pointed out that when dealing with businesses in this region you simply DON'T jump the gun and make the locals lose face or marketing opportunities)
  3. Thanks for the info about Thomas guys. Stops a lot of the conspiracy stories in their tracks, just odd that the OS never mentioned it was Cruciate trouble. get well soon Wayne
  4. OK so this is another GB liked to have a drink thread? Or Company Officer in Employment Tribunal legal wrangle? Or Why was a junior employee awake at 5am before a big match scandal? Or an abuse of Power? or an abuse of company expense accounts? I don't quite get the point. LS may well have a valid issue but it does seem odd that it has taken two years to come to light and even then it is a little short on substance, such as why the youngster was fired. Did he have the temerity to suggest that the team manager should be in bed at that time of the morning? Did he fail to get his round in? Why was he up? As a rallying cry for a revolt by fans it isn't quite there yet. Conceptually bringing issues like this into the fans domain is a sound idea, but without the actual full story then it simply becomes a different version of an ITK tale and gets the derision it may not deserve. Right now, with what we have, sorry it's points scoring b**s.
  5. Ah the SCW "football needs to find a way to bring late developers into the first team", added to Rupert's "Develop our own players" and moulded to the "Glenn Hoddle links with Southampton" conspiracy. Well, I'm not at all surprised to see the concept of him using our facilities and players as test beds being rumoured, whether it is real or happens is another issue. Let's hope he lends us a Ronaldo clone in January.....

LMFAO However, never one to miss a trick, Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp is hopeful of giving Becks a Premier League option, and could come in with a last-minute offer. That's according to the Mirror, with Redknapp even claiming Posh would prefer the shops in Portsmouth to those in Milan. Redknapp said: "David is a player I think about and you can't tell me he wouldn't make some great crosses for Peter Crouch and Jermain Defoe." http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/leagues/premierleague/2437947/Paper-View-Football-news-rumours-headlines.html
  7. OK MB enough of this you won. Finally a numbers game worth playing. So could you PLEASE find an original version without the numbers for us to print and place somewhere useful around the house Thanks in advance
  8. Now I understand people making the odd drunken mistake in Thailand, but FFS I ask you..... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/newstopics/howaboutthat/3240043/Transsexual-geisha-is-former-Ministry-of-Defence-worker.html Transsexual geisha is former Ministry of Defence worker A former Ministry of Defence worker called Malcolm has become a transsexual geisha. By Alastair Jamieson Last Updated: 11:16AM BST 22 Oct 2008 The 5ft 11, 15 stone former cartographer, who is undergoing hormone treatment and is waiting for sex-change surgery, is now called Mary. Miss Murdoch, a retired civil servant aged 70, persuaded tourism officials in the Japanese city of Kyoto to allow her to wear the lavish kimonos, heavy make-up and thick black wigs, which are required in the traditional Japanese role. She said: "My ambition was to dress up as a geisha. I love Japanese culture and dress and wearing the clothes was the thing I looked forward to most." Miss Murdoch said she was initially prevented from having her photograph taken in the traditional dress because only women could do so. "I told them I had a female name on my passport and showed them my breasts from having hormone treatment," she said. "After that they were very welcoming and put aside the normal rules for foreign tourists." Miss Murdoch, from Greenwich, south-east London, retired from the MoD in 1994 after becoming a manager. In the 1970s she took an Open University degree in Sociology. "My job involved mapping military aircraft routes with the Civil Aviation Authority," she said. "It was a very masculine job and a lot of responsibility." She began taking female hormones in 2004 after being referred to the Charing Cross Hospital in London and is waiting for an £11,000 sex change operation.
  9. After last night's unexpected result, Saints fans are riding the Crest of a wave. For some optimists, the future looks Ultra-Brite But there are still a few Sensodyne souls who believe that a positive reaction amongst the fans may send the wrong Signals At least the team were able to keep a Ma cleans sheet last night
  10. Think you got your marketing muddled up there. Everyone knows it's a bottle of Cresta It's Frothy Man
  11. 15, 18, 19 Which although in the context of this thread would make me weak, in the flesh it would of course make me well hard
  12. As I said in my comments before the season started when JP was appointed and the strategy of the Kids was announced, it is all about balance. Now before we get carried away, the club IS bleeding to death financially and although it may SOUND petty to hear the "can't afford appearance money" views, I am convinced that is very close to the truth. We have some older pro's, they HAVE been injured and have cost us money we did not have in our plan. BUT now they are becoming available and two lessons are learnt. 1) Despite what we thought, Skacel DID play, so behind the scenes, IF the rumours are true then some Rabbits really ARE being pulled out of empty hats 2) Having a better MIX of youth and experience seems to have worked better But again, it is ONE result the Championship IS all about ups and downs and a "previously woeful" Norwich side when we played them walloped a "good Wolves side" last night.... So I think it is a sign of a step in the right direction. But BECAUSE it is football there could have been other contributory factors last night. Maybe we kept a better shape without DMG? Maybe BWP covered the full back better to reduce the space, maybe Sheff U didn't get their tactics right and were one-dimensional, or of course maybe the wiser heads helped out and Rudi is truly our saviour. So I'll happily take a point in what will be an up and down season and I will take the two signs that people behind the scenes are actually TRYING very hard to get things sorted out and on an even keel. (Oh & I am with Draganov in many ways, because so far this season anybody who isn't a Saints fan looking in from outside would say Who the ??? is this Rupert everyone keeps *****ing about? He has at least STFU leaving only innuendo and speculation. It is interesting that we treat ITK takeover speculation with abusive responses but let the other stuff go by...)
  13. Just in from the pub heard Olly off what is happening? we been any good Cope sounds bubbly?
  14. This thread has Flushed a lot of negativity away this morning Let's hope that JP has his Pliers well Drilled for this evening's game That we have Polished up on our set pieces and that we Extract 3 points from the operation tonight
  15. I assume you don't really mean the UN anti-drugs campaign chief who was caught at the airport with seeds..... Or the Aussie Stewardesses who smoked while on vacation, had a car crash 2 weeks later and got banged up for 4 years because it was still in their system so that equalled possession..... It IS madness but then when you look again it is not. No drugs culture reduces crime dramatically. And that is without mentioning the fact that the Koran has issues with mind altering substances. We're just happy to be able to get booze, we don't worry about the other stuff Anyway enough of this sh*t. This thread is about getting INS down to Aus
  16. I see what you did there......
  17. You'd think the club would be very proud of their events team, a conference like this must be their Crown ing glory
  18. I think these jokes have been denture death
  19. They actually have more legroom than BA, but less SPACE. Unfortunately on their long haul 777's they squash 10 seats across the plane instead of the 9 on Singapore/BA & Cathay. So you get squashed by the fat bstd next to you (oh and the tv system takes away foot space). Oh and because of the number of seats the aisles are narrow so even with an aisle seat you get smacked in the shoulder by trolleys all night long Etihad have 9 across but quite a bit less leg room than even BA. (Long Haul lesson #2 always remove the magazines, flight safety card etc from the seat in front, gives you an extra half an inch, which is always useful anywhere in life:-) Then ask for a second cushion and stuff it down the side of the seat and use it as your arm rest means the fat bstd next to you cannot keep elbowing you in the ribs!) Sadly I used to do return long hauls in cattle class every 10 days. I'm getting better now, the therapy helps
  20. More scientific types than me can answer technically properly but basically it is part of the .....in family that can be addictive such as morphine heroin etc If you get a bad back then Panadol or Ibuprofen or Cataflam works well - we can just buy that you guys need a prescription. Anything else is a problem, they can issue some stuff on prescripton, but anything "mind altering" including most uppers, downers, sleeping pills are a problem. If coming through Asia/ME region and on medication ALWAYS check with a doctor or the local embassy. I kid you not 4 years for a Brit with Nurofen Plus a few years ago. Might as well have been "doing a Grooverider" (Actually and usefully you can buy just about most medications here without a prescription. Useful (and cheaper) if you get recurring bad back or bad knees!) Just their "banned list" is longer Here endeth part 1 of "the World isn't all like the UK" lesson.
  21. Yes but you forget we NEED to hype DMG up so that he becomes worth 4mil in the January transfer window and saves the club from liquidation and as he's the only one then who would need to be sold he will save the team from relegation Think outside the box (nice if our players could do it inside for once tho)
  22. Jokes aside my mate is a hypnotherapist. Fear of flying can be many things but if it is not claustrophobia then it can often be sorted out. My brother HATES flying, but eventually came down here, the whole flight out was a nightmare for him, but ONCE he saw the reward for the risk he was fine with the whole going back home and managed to board the plane without even knowing what he was doing Or of course that MAY have been the Bullfrogs (Oh and watch the medication - may be legal in UIK but could get you 4 years here (eg Codeine) or 10 years in Thailand - ask the GP
  23. Oh and personal airline ratings 1 Singapore 2 Cathay 3 Virgin 3 Emirates 5 Etihad 6 Qatar 7 BA 8 Quaintass 9 Brunei 10 Gulf Air Last resort Thai Stay at home Malaysian haahahahah Indian or Jet Airways May make it Vietnam Airlines but all of them are better than Lufthansa or Air France and KLM on long haul and they are all better than Alitalia & Turkish For the latest update on Pakistan Airways ask Roman ..... IMHO of course
  24. Fare structures vary but in siimple terms the two national carriers (BA & Quaintass) are the most expensive. They both stop over to refuel in Bangkok. Virgin also have direct rights and will likely be the same cost maybe a special offer. The "Transit" airlines are always cheaper (depending on actual availability) So the main airlines that are "almost decent" from UK to Aus would be Emirates, Singapore, Cathay Pacific (who have a special at the mo) Etihad and then Qatar. Others who do the tickets but are pretty grim would be Gulf Air, Thai Airways, Malaysian. Royal Brunei deserve a mention, they will be cheaper fly older 767's without all the entertainment gismos and do NOT serve booze. BUT you are allowed to take your own on board and the aircrew will serve it for you. BUT check the rules on taking liquids onto flights to Aus, they do have a thing about it! With these airlines you get somewhere between 3 and 5 hour stop overs at the airport. As others have said you can do a stop over Emirates charge about US$40 off peak up to about $100 in busy season. But Bangkok for 2 nights or Hong Kong is great even WITH the missus just for shopping & food! Again, with all these it depends on things like demand. School hoildays and special events in their countries - for example Emirates could be full up London - Dubai so could appear more expensive than BA direct. Another thing is for example it is often cheaper to fly into Perth or Brisbane with Emirates then start your touring from there. With a travel pass it works out cheaper. You should do lots of internet research before heading for a travel agent As for the flying fear - many hypnotists do CD's to relax people who are scared of flying. Normal stuff like the sound of screams and crunching metal........
  25. Don't see what all the fuss is about with Iceland. You could sure Bank on her assets
