I think you are being unnecessarily sizeist. Lock the thread! -
And like I'm going to PUBLISH them down here - yeah right! One day I'll work out how to cut and paste the message that comes up when I try and look at any "intresting" links you guys paste. As for B-Anter, tried to get onto that and a bl**dy Swat team burst in through the windows....

Why give it to him though? The CLUB needs it more. I don't suppose in all of the political posturing anybody on here has actually spoken to any of the Directors to see if a takeover deal could be put together or if they actually will sell and at what price? Or is it more fun to let the factions slip in snippets to continue to undermine the fan-base as they did with the previous train set owners?

But he won't. Nice thought, but a key fact = Leon is the highest paid businessman in the South. Therefore he is pretty smart in general business terms. And yourself and many others have pointed out, the club is on a downward spiral, and is incredibly close to administration, with a bank debt of around 8 million. So why on earth would Leon throw good money after bad to buy Wilde's shares? Mike Wilde receiving an inflow of money from an investor is of sod all use to the CLUB. The cash situation would STILL be there, the cut and cut problem would not go away just because Wilde got a third of his investment back. Leon IF he has any money would be a fool to do that right now, he can continue to sit quietly and wait. He can reach the point where he can offer whatever he would have paid to Wilde as a loan or preference share subscription into the club in return for a reshaping of the deckchairs. I am damned sure that 1) a quiet approach to Barclays WHO REALLY RUN THE CLUB at the moment would lead to THEM putting pressure on the Directors or 2) a quite approach to Andrew Cowan. Without curing the core problem - the Bank, just changing the chairs around will not bring back 4/5,000 fans a week, and Leon doesn't have enough money to bring in the quality of players that WOULD bring back that number, so why oh why would he waste money giving it to Wilde "to help him out of his own mess" I expect he is sitting quietly laughing his head off And waiting, along with many others out there

Ah bless. Who needs an opposition to turn up each week when we have each other eh? Another few weeks of this and I'm gonna start looking to get a sponsor for TSW Unlimited. Reckon we could get enough cash in selling the tv rights to global satellite channels to watch some of our supposedly more knowledgeable and wiser posters beat the cr*p out of each other for real. We drew last night, and from what i read, although we may have been lightweight we did not collapse or play badly, so to me that was a result because in the past few weeks it looked like we were falling apart. Leave it for the opposition gang, it's getting boring

Any of the above that bring in CASH, and we're probably open to offers for the Groundsman, Chef's, carpets, curtains, company cars etc etc etc etc Want to buy a player? Get in early, make it a cash offer of 10 pence in the pound and take your pick

Although Lawrie is no longer the right man for the role, I REALLY feel he identifies a crucial gap in our structure. I've said it a few times on here already, that - When I worked as director of football at Southampton with a young manager in Alan Ball, it was about working together: I no longer wanted to manage but was able to pass on my experience and mentor Alan; he was able to work at a higher level in the game yet still have someone to lean on. It worked because in that kind of role as director of football I was able to act as a link between the manager and the board of directors without interfering in what he was trying to do. There were obviously times when, having been a manager for more than 1,000 games at club and international level you would have done something different but you have to bite your lip. You can put your point of view but the manager has to have the final say on team selection and the bringing of players to the club. The only reason I was called director of football is that someone in the club decided I had to have a title and I was already a director on the board. I see no issue with Rupert doing the contracts side. I see no issue with scouts and the like identifying players, but I see that whole Board to manager bit round the wrong way at this time as well as JP needing that mentor around. This is what we should have done before the season started, I have more than an idea as to why it didn't though, and not just the cost.....

Good plan, let's play the strongest available team. Should manage to last about 4 weeks that way instead of the 12 we need to get to January and HOPEFULLY get some fees in for Rasiak, Saga, John and maybe Euell & Skacerl so that we at LEAST have a (very small) fighting chance of being around in this league next season. It looks dreadful right now, but while there is some flicker of life there is still some hope, we're not ready to switch the life-support off just yet. And as for broncoboy's post. yikes, I'd love to be able to spend some time on that planet. Of course he is RIGHT, we all feel like that, just most of us have read some articles and interviews about the mess we are in.

Only the unwise or the unruly mob pass judgement without the full facts. because we are all deeply upset and annoyed about the situation around the club at the moment we see this and we react. But what ACTUALLY happened? what was said? and why? For example the players COULD have been "uneasy" about the situation with SJ leaving and Lowe COULD have been asked to make a short statement reassuring the lads. JP could have asked for it RL could have been telling them it was the last game for the club so play your hearts out as we will be gone tomorrow Could be he went in to tell them his favourite Spurs joke Could be he went in and redefined the tactics Could be he went in to hug DMG Could be he went in to tell them who had to mark Clinton Morrison We don't KNOW. At the same time we don't KNOW whether this is Merrington trying to undermine the current regime and push the price of the club down to the 75 pence him and his mates have found down the back of the sofa Should the chairman go into the dressing room before a game? No Could there be a set of circumstances where the chairman SHOULD go into the dressing room before the game? Yes there could. I'm not happy about things at the moment, but I am also starting to get suspicious that besides REALLY P*SSED OFF FANS there could be some "darker forces" at work. First the Echo photo about Rupert on the touchline, then the Solent pep talk story..... Just the merest hint of the faint smell of fish wafting across into this direction

Somehow, I just slightly suspect that a poster on here has an evil sense of humour and may just have registered a name. Whoever that was, quality comedy effort mate. SB next? I won't sign it, simply because more of the same old same old will make a bad mess worse. All 3 together or all 3 gone, nothing else is acceptable, although the latter is hugely preferable

And while the global financial system is in a melt down, the ONLY thing billionaires want right now is to stop losing their asset values and hoard cash.... This CAN still happen, but we HAVE to survive a few months, because right now, we are little more than a big debt for an investor to take onboard. We won't get promoted this season, so we will need 4-6 million to stabilise the club and probably the same next year. Now IF there are fears about jobs and the cost of going to games on here now, until investors can see what is likely to happen to UK PLC, the income of the club could drop even more. Nobody is going to afford to rebuild the club into what the fans "believe" they deserve in terms of quality and consistency in January, that would take millions more, so an investor sees, falling attendaces across the country, cuts in advertising and sponsorship & corporate income, no value in any "vague" property developments and on top of that, much of their own wealth is falling in value almost daily. A wise investor with cash to burn could make 10% a week playing Forex or the markets, or could lose 20%. Why add to that risk NOW with a football club. If the club survives to January the buy price won't be much different, the risks will be better known. If it doesn't survive then it will be cheaper but will be stripped of assets so we'll end up with a two-bit photocopier salesman able to buy us... The argument against this is the mantra that Lowe won't sell. Maybe historically that was the case, but right at this moment, we have no proof in the public domain that this is still the case. Maybe he would, but to my knowledge from the media and ITK's nobody has actually asked for quite some time.

Good result tonight. The free Vodkas for Chicks at Rock Bottoms made for a great atmosphere. (an idea there Rupe's) The evening wasmade more chirpy getting tx updates, ok so we didn't win, but we didn't cave in again so after the last few days of horror threads on here at least a small ray of light. With the "we're doomed financially" hat on sounds good that Euell showed he still has what it takes, guess he'll be the next out the door. But a point is a point and more than I expected. May not have been great to be there but all those points may keep us up at the end of the season... I hope

It wasn't funny and outside of the UK it's just seen as another indication of a people that seem to have completely lost both the plot and any last semblance of human decency. 6 million quid a year to do something that would even embarass many 8 year old boys. The problem I have with tWoss is that when I have occassionally seen him on Brit tv the whole "look at me I am going to be obscene/controversial" thing is so contrived. He never USED to do that, he just does it now and then sits back and soaks up the audience's embarrsed t*tters. In his own way he's as much a dinosaur as Frank Carson has become. Times up - next time Beeb find somebody FUNNY instead of embarrassing. Oh and as for Bland... OK Big Brother audiences love him....
