Well this will probably drag out in a messy way now.

I was literally about to write the same thing. The spontaneous raw just before the goal followed by an absolute daisy cutter. That's not just the loudest cheer I've ever heard at St Mary's. It's the loudest noise I've ever heard inside any football ground in 26 years of going home and away. Special mention for Beatties cupped ear goal against the skates.

Indeed. If they can join up Ocean Village, Town Quay and Mayflower Park with something worth visiting, it could be fantastic. Add to the West Quay, Watermark West Quay and Oxford Street being close by it has a lot of potential. What we also need in that development is a landmark. The Spinnaker Tower is Portsmouth's, the Pier is Brighton's, I'm not sure the Spitfire monument will quite work out to be ours.

I work in both Southampton and Portsmouth. It's clear that Southampton is still the more affluent. However their council are actually trying to improve Portsmouth and offer the locals and tourists something to do and encourage business. Southampton will continue to decline with the way our council is going. A family member of mine works pretty high up in carnival. He's convinced within 10-15 years they will relocate to Liverpool. It's what they want.

With a full pre season under his belt and being more settled he could come good. Can't see him being a regular starter but for a small price it's worth it for squad depth. A decent looking player who seems like he needs to find his feet. He also took 3 corners last season. All 3 were the best we had all season.

Nathaniel Clyne Joins Liverpool - Official
Golden Balls replied to Saint Garrett's topic in The Saints
Seen a lot on here and twitter saying it's a sideways move, all for money etc. Come on, it's not a sideways move. We have won 1 major trophy in 130 years and just celebrated finishing 7th. They had a terrible season yet played in the Champions League, got to 2 semi finals and finished above us. He'll virtually guarantee his England place. And yes, he'll probably double his wages. Who can blame him? -
Not sure if this has been mentioned on here. I hear (from a reliable source as it is possible) that Portsmouth Council and Spinnaker Tower NEVER had any intention of changing the colour of the tower to red and white. The whole reason it was put out was because they knew there would be an uproar about the sponsorship. Therefore they knew that by saying it would be red & white would grab the attention and the locals would then accept literally anything else. They didn't actually expect as big a backlash as they got though. And hey ho, it worked. The simpletons have been tricked by their own.

No. But I'd rather she buy the land surrounding St Mary's (including the waterfront) and develop that.
-
Any planning permission would be public no? Also, I'd absolutely hate for us to have a stadium so far out.
-
Sounds like the Clyne situation. Last year of contract. Club offers £10m, they want £15m. So we'll offer £12m soon.
-
I would assume this £500k signing would be in instalments. Who would give them credit though? Madness.
-
Rumours are they're set to spend £500k (that's HALF A MILLION POUNDS STERLING) on some goalkeeper called Tommy Lee or something. It's happening. Edit: just googled him. Factless Allen will be excited. He's ex premier league... At Manchester United no less!! Where he made a grand total of zero appearances. Coup.

Really disappointed with the way Gaston has turned out. The talent is there, that's obvious. He just doesn't suit the English game at all. Too weak, slow and disappears. If he could have pushed on from that Villa 4-1 game he would be a world beater. He absolutely dictated that game. Might be worth a go in the early rounds of the Europa League if we can't offload him again.

The 'Pompey Pirlo' apparently. I know last season was funny with their flirtation with relegation to non-league and losing to Andover. But if they fail to get promotion again this season, it will be hilarious. They are all so confidant and I've even seen the faithful "walk the league" comment. They should win it, but if they don't I will take so much joy from the meltdown.

For a pub it's got to be the Platform Tavern or the new place they've just opened, The Dancing Man (aka The Woolhouse). The Rockstone is great too. As is the Guide Dog close by. I like ale though and these places do very good ale. If they prefer lager then Marshals is the place to go. Restaurant wise there's plenty down Oxford Street but book ahead. I've always been impressed with Banana Wharf which has a very wide range menu and still all very well cooked. Nice to sit outside by the water on a sunny day too.

Like the sash. Hate the colour.

Are they seriously trying to claim this will be some huge event where people will come from far and wide? Very few, if anybody will use their park and ride to pay a huge fee to go down a slide. If they find a place and council agree in Portsmouth, they'll use it. If they find a place and council agree in Southampton, they'll use it. It's not something that can only happen once in one area only. And this "we have more than Southampton" quote to appease the locals. Come on. If you have to preach it, it's not true. Oh and that beg for Facebook likes. Really?

Hahaha they're going with gold? How tacky! Love that their insecurities are not only costing them money but making it look worse.
-
That would be stupidly good!

Not met many celeb tossers. Usually always quite nice. I was surprised James Cordon was a ****. Well, he was if you are male. Had plenty of time for the ladies. Freddie Flintoff was alright. He was in a bit of a bad mood when I met him as he was training for his boxing match and everyone around him was scoffing Dominos pizza. Seemed to really test his willpower. Although he did agree to speak to my mate on my phone who idolises him. Jack Whithall was nice. Really shy actually. Jason Manford was a complete gent. Really normal bloke who was willing to chat. Frank Turner is a legend. Has time for absolutely everyone. Ended up spending about 3 hours getting drunk with him and almost thought he might want to be my friend. But no, just being a nice man. Met Roy Walker in an airport when I was about 8. He stopped me and gave me all his spare peseta coins and then chatted to my parents for a while. Not sure why.... Footballers wise there's the obvious nice guys - MLT, Franny, Kelvin Davis. But the nicest I ever met was David Prutton closely followed by Michael Svensson. Worst was probably Martin Cranie.

Aren't there blue lights on the Itchen Bridge? Do we care? Also...look at this technophobe who's managed to set up a twitter account. @redknapp

Say "yes" to red and white Spinnaker Tower. https://www.change.org/p/portsmouth-city-council-david-cameron-mp-say-yes-to-a-red-and-white-spinnaker-tower

Jesus the meltdown about painting part of something red is hilarious. And apparently we're the obsessed ones. Even seen it referred to as "scummer tower"

Was it this one? Was trying to get that going in block 42 when absolutely hammered. Didn't work. Worth another go though. And "mighty" works much better.
