We should be looking for an early goal to settle the nerves and end the tie. Then we can make changes. If they get an early goal nerves will creep in and the ground will be rocking. Bad idea to play a weakened team, especially so early in the competition.

Academy coaching in the new Staplewood training dome
Golden Balls replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
A mum I know has just had her boy selected to go to Saints. Bournemouth also want him. Hes only 6 or 7. All she bangs on about is how much money he'll make and how she can't wait for him to go to Man United like Luke Shaw. Terrible attitude. -
I might be up for this if you need a player. Haven't played for you lot since the famous 7-2 (I think) win against Bournemouth. Scary that was 10-11 years ago! Just need to check dates and get tickets. Might have a couple of others on hand if needed too.

CONFIRMED - Virgil Van Dijk joins on Five Year Deal
Golden Balls replied to Brizzie Saints's topic in The Saints
Those writing off Sunderland are a tad silly. In my bias opinion we are the better option for him to get into the international side. We've got Classie here and the Koeman factor means he will get noticed more in Holland. Even in recent times we've been the team to propel players to international level (Fonte, Lambert and Pelle) despite their age. Really hoping we pull this one off. Got £40 on it when it was 3/1. -
Thanks for that. Always nice to see. Didn't we used to have a regular Wednesday fan on here? Would like to see them back in the PL just for nostalgia. In my mind the real PL is the 1994/95 Merlin sticker album.

Thanks for that. Was also looking at the Amazon Fire stick. MX3 looks more user friendly though. Especially like the keyboard. I'm basically looking to get movies and box sets and then run sportsmania. Also, I hear there are some add ons to stream live tv. Ivue looks good. Anyone use that?

Was thinking of getting one of these myself. I'm not exactly tech savvy. Are they easy to use (set up/user friendly etc)?

Like others have said, call up and say you want to cancel. I did and got 50% off. They call my friends bluff recently and he thought he'd actually have to cancel, they called back a couple of days later and offered him the 50% off.

It's clear this thread will get dragged up on multiple times throughout the season. I predicted he'd be a hot & cold player. A moment of magic then completely terrible. Fortunately the 'magic' has be in far greater quantities than the 'terrible' so far. I'd say he's one of our most important players and certainly our match winner. Expect him to be gone next summer.

Just looked at my timehop. 2 years ago made great reading. It was supposed to be the day they started again. The day when they took the league by storm and began their ascent back to the premier league. The motto was 'Ours' which quickly became "Oxford United Ruined Saturday" Portsmouth 1-4 Oxford United. Out came reports of fans being silenced, fans leaving early, fans booing and fans fighting amongst themselves in the stands. They ended the day 93rd in the league pyramid and it hasn't got much better since. Oh how riddled with jealousy I am.
-
Because they're in the same league as us. If we lost players to a better team in a different league, such as JRod to Barcelona then the vast majority would wish him well. I've never heard any abuse for Bale, Theo or The Ox when they return. Just applause. But now we're in the same league as Arsenal if they buy any of our players we'll heckle them (like we did with Chambers). It's the way it works for some reason. Anyway, I'm stupidly excited for this game. Get the feeling it's going to be a great atmosphere, especially if we start well.

Used to be my local when I lived down there. It's a Sainsburys now I believe. Only ever been to 1 European game. The home game Vs Staua. Was sat right next to their fans who were a great bunch. Was too young to go away. Can't wait for next week.

Fantastic!

In that case you have to visit The Wool House/Dancing Mam Brewery, The Duke of Wellington and The Red Lion which are all close to each other. For waterside drinking Southampton isn't great as the waterfront is soon to be redeveloped. Head to Ocean Village (10 minute walk/2 min taxi from Wool House) where there are a few bars. Nice when it's sunny. The 3 pubs the police have advised are close to Guildhall Square for gathering. I'd probably advise The Spitfire from those 3. Avoid Yates, horrible place.

Why would it cause offence? Surely being treated differently to everyone else and not having it printed is more offensive? I've not had mine either. And I selected delivery (didn't notice it could be uploaded to the card)

"Everyone likes us, we don't care. We're Southampton, super Southampton, everyone likes us, we don't care" Not quite got the same ring to it. Glad to see Bournemouth are still everyones 2nd team though.

This. There's plenty to do in and around Southampton for a day. People just like to moan. Definitely head down to The Woolhouse. New pub that just opened that has it's own mirco brewery. Plenty of ale to enjoy in there. Unfortunately if you like ships, there aren't many of the big ones in on Thursday. Only SAGA Pearl 2 and Mein Schiff. Still, there's always the Titanic Museum. If I was a Vitesse fan I would be organising everyone to gather around Guildhall Square before the game. Plenty of space to all mingle together and create some atmosphere and plenty of places to get a drink and eat.

Indeed. It's very....um, how would they put it? Scummerish? They're livid.
