I just scrolled through the Pompey hashtag and was going to post some classic reactions but there's just too many. POL must be brilliant. #CookOut

Ah only today a chap was telling me how this was going to be their year. Glorious.

This would be the straw that breaks the camels back for me. Fine we've sold a lot of players and improved but this is one step too far. Especially after the dross I saw on that pitch yesterday.

Do we need to sell to the 'big' clubs to progress?
Golden Balls replied to ChrisPY's topic in The Saints
Looking at where the club was 7 years ago and even where it was last time we were in the PL, it's becoming unrecognisable. In a good way. The club is slowly growing and with every year in the PL, especially if we continue to qualify for Europe we will continue to grow. Leicester was a freak. That will happen once or twice a lifetime. We should be concentrating on continuing to grow as a club. On the field and commercially. Continue to qualify for Europe. Do well in Europe and strive for silverware. FA Cup or LC. That's the next step. Maybe we can capitalise on some of the big clubs faltering again and make top 4. To challenge for a title is too much. We will probably always sell our best players to the huge clubs. That's reality when you bring in or develop young talent. -
He's working his notice until the end of this month.

Colin Murray had the bloke on his show this morning. Seems like a passionate fan who criticised the club but did use bad language on social media. The man in question used to work for the club as a volunteer too. He wasn't racist, homophobic etc. Just critical like many fans would be in their situation. Shame. Charlton used to be a model for how clubs should be run.
-
According to the local BBC journalists, he's been offered that and would be the highest earner at the club.
-
Buggering hell I love that!

2/10

Just been told it doesn't matter as they've played more games at Wembley than anybody else. Obviously Arsenal don't count.
-
I find this hilarious. Call me bitter, don't care. The bloke is a c***.
-
Surely would have made more sense to cut the prices for Saints away fans all season? I guess from VM point of view it's good PR with the other 19 sets of fans around the country.
-
Lovren in the paper this morning. His wife's head was elsewhere. And with this complete mess of a bloke. IIRC Lovren was subbed against us last season as Klopp said the crowd was getting to him. This gives us a great excuse to give him the Kevin Phillips treatment this season.
-
If that's genuinely the price I'd be snapping their arms off.
-
I've just been told (in all seriousness with no joking at all) that they've sold more season tickets than us? I just replied with "why lie?" I don't get it. 12k STs is a good effort for that level. Why not just enjoy that? Why make stuff up to pretend they're somehow bigger and better. Worst of all, they believe it.

According to a skate mate, this picture is fake and that is not Pompey fans. Should be easy enough to prove wrong. I think it was around their 2010 cup semi final.
-
The love-in between the skates and little Bournemouth on this is fun to read. Poll didn't quite go to plan though.
-
Awwww, they don't want us to take the p*** so got to keep the scummers out. Bless. On another note, one of my customers told me about this huge testimonial coming up. Apparently they'd sold 19k tickets for what is essentially a friendly. I was genuinely impressed. Yep, that's right. Another Portsmyth. Attendance 5,153. 531 of which were Bournemouth fans. Nothing too wrong with that tbh, probably lower than what they wanted. But why lie?
-
Backfired quite spectacularly. Mind you its one of those accounts by a fan boy in love with a random player. They tend to say 'tears' and 'screaming' as a form of nonexistent laughter. Odd bunch those teenagers.
-
Colin Murray has also resigned from TalkSport for this reason. A real shame. Best show on the radio.
-
Shame. Don't always agree with him but he's a passionate football fan who knows what he's talking about.
-
My thoughts exactly. Terrible interview technique.

Matt Targett - Joins Aston Villa (Official)

A loan would be good for him, especially to a club like Newcastle where he'll most likely be in a winning team. We'd be short on cover at LB though. -
His pace over 5-10 years was clearly slower than before. Maybe he improved his 100m sprint which is not really as important in football. One of his biggest strengths was running with the ball. He could dribble at pace keeping the ball very close to his feet. He needs to regain that. He's about 26 now, so still has a bit of time on his hands. Personally I can see him dropping down a division and then finding his form again before coming back to the PL.
