I thought we played brilliantly, i'm just f*cking annoyed about the whole Surman/James thing.

A lot of teams in this league play pacy wingers - we can't just shrug it off. James and Surman are midfielders; when Burley did this, he was absolutely ripped to pieces by people on here.

Lallana is far too lightweight also - however he won't come up against a better DM in Lee Carsley.

I agree mostly, but seriously you couldn't have enjoyed watching James and Surman getting outrun every attack?

I wasn't saying he was right, I was pointing out that everyone told said Makin could "do a job" at CB, when in fact he was sh*t. People are saying Surman and James can do a job at side back this year - when in actual fact they are sh*t. They have no pace whatsoever.

Didn't look as bad as I thought it would tbh. No need to have those areas open when you can fit everyone into the central blocks. Although, IMO it would make more sense to just close the chapel - they still had the same amount of bar/cafe places open.

People seemed to think they had bought a load of top quality players - but the only decent one they got is Bentley.

Also, McGoldrick doesn't work on the right IMO. It's a shame for John who will be dropped, but McGoldrick is the one in form at the moment.

Actually, when he joined we were right down the bottom of the Championship - he came on loan well after the actual transfer window was shut.

Baird and Svensson are similar - no nonsense, get stuck in, hard working CBs. Davies is more a Lundekvam type player - he has control, he sweeps up, he's calm. You need the balance. (In case it's not clear, I would choose Davies over Baird 10 times out of 10).

Davies will not leave. I have foreseen it.

It'd be a shame if John was frozen out. He's just had one of the best seasons of his career, so if he then was left out in favour of someone who had never played regularly in competitive games that would probably be it for him.

I'd imagine they don't. But it must give a little adrenaline rush to hear your name shouted out by 10,000+ people.
