Well I always got the impression that Jan never payed much attention to the defensive side of things in his coaching, so this makes perfect sense to me. One of Svenssons best attributes is his reading of the game, which CAN be taught IMO.

I spoke to a friend involved in security earlier tonight, and he told me to expect big news at the turn of the month. At the time I thought it might have been JP getting sacked (a new manager coming in after the transfer window wouldn't be able to request funds) but now i'm fairly certain we will be going into admin.
