As the media will quickly try to portray us as a 'crisis club' and hype up talk of a 'mutiny' amongst players/supporters towards the new manager, I suggest we give a few loud One Nigel Adkins chants just before kick off, then cheer the team on to 3 points. As annoyed/upset as I am at Nigel's departure, I'm just gonna have to remember how much I ****ing hate Everton!

What's everyone got lined up for 2013? I'm planning: Stubbington 10k - Sat 20 Jan Paris Marathon - Sun 7 Apr Braishfield Beer Run (5m) - Sun 2 Jun Winchester - Peddle Paddle Pace - Sun 21 Jul All good (hopefully) events in their own way. So many good events these days, there's always some challenge. GSR and GNR are always good events, but very expensive.

Normal over-reaction to a defeat. I see on the uglyinside it's all Adkins' fault again. Didn't do much wrong in the first half - apart from concede obviously from their only real effort. Did run out of steam and ideas in the 2nd half admittedly. I though De Ridder did well and looked like he could make a real difference if we can get him involved again, was pleased to see us try to integrate Mayuka and we need to do this when he's available, although it didn't come off yesterday.

Thought the atmosphere was very flat for the Reading game - even more so when considering the importance of that game. No Santa hat nonsense on Saturday or any other 'wacky' stuff, just get in the pub for a few beers, let's get some atmosphere going.

Keith - you obviously did have some oomph in your legs! But do be careful, as others have said I would recommend that you back off a little bit, maybe add some extra weekly miles at a slower pace (doesn't matter how slow) and just build up gradually. Once you've built a bit of a solid mileage base you can add pace quite quickly. Just don't push it too hard too soon, it's a game of patience and it does take a while, but the results will come. Anyone in Stubbington 10k in January or know the course?

Eastleigh 10k is fast but is a popular race. March 24. Only hill is up Twyford Road (past Harvester) at about 3k. Or Marwell 10k (usually in May) if you fancy something a bit more challenging, there's some killer hills especially in the first half of race.

Isn't Morgan still walking the tightrope on a suspension? Good that he's available for this one, more than happy for him to 'take one for the team' if required for this crucial game, he can miss Fulham away.
-
Good clean sheet, despite the best efforts of the referee to give them dangerous free kicks round the edge of the box. I have to give Guly credit for his very good cameo at the end, I must admit I was wincing as he came on but he proved me wrong.
-
But aren't we averaging 3 points per game from the last two games? :-)
-
No I don't think we are anywhere near aggressive enough, I think we've been a bit of a soft touch for a whille now. As we're also not particularly good at keeping the ball (WBA more countless examples of coughing up possession) this is a problem. If we're not going to get more aggressive, we should start by keeping the ball a bit better at least, starting with today...
-
As long as Guly is not in West Brom on Monday evening, put any youngster on the bench if required, Isgrove? Just not Guly.
-
Burley just said how he coudn't believe how bad Guly was (wasn't hard to read between the lines)...
-
Or maybe we should sing to drown out Spurs fans? As I don't particularly want to listen to Spurs fans at any time and certainly not on Sunday. I've never really heard Spurs fans sing that much anyway.

Fee plus wages, which player has represented the biggest waste of money!

Some bad memories being revived by this thread, but surely the winner by a country mile is "Tin Man" Delgado. -
Should we have got rid of McMenemy when we got relegated in 74?
-
Who started this thread? No. In the interest of balance, should there be a vote-of-confidence poll on Cortese? As the left back and centre back wanted by NA don't seem to have materialised just yet? My view would be give Nigel and chance, and give Nicola a chance...

I never went to the Bedford area before a match at the Dell, way too far.

Don't think it is affected by Europa League as the game falls between Europa League weeks. Not sure about Sky but would imagine it's unlikely given the start both teams have made to the season, unless they see it as an early relegation six pointer. If this is £42 plus tax (for a Cat C game!) - as per the away ticket prices thread - they can do one as I'm not paying that.

Interesting that Norwich considering expanding when they become 'an established premier league side', whatever that means. Commissioned a study from UEA Study is independent and not based on instinct/intuition! Expansion by 7,000 (to 34,200) is viable according to UEA study, but would cost £20m according to NCFC chief exec Capacity is currently 27,200, last season's average crowd was 26,606 (or 97.8% full) http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-norfolk-19703856

I have to agree with Durham and goughie... We will definitely rest our key players!
-
I'm certainly not underestimating West Brom, and I agree that they're a decent side. Yes Reading have had a difficult start and I'm not sure how many points we'll take off Chelsea, Spurs and Stoke. To be fair I was looking beyond Reading's results and more at the level of performance, and I stand by my original assertion that they're ****e.
-
Anyone watching WBA-Reading? Going by the MOTD edit, Reading are absolute ****e again. Baggies all over them.
-
Standard of MOTD commentators and pundits hasn't improved since I last watched it in 2005! "Villa deservedly in front at half time" "controlled the 1st half" - really? "Horrendous defending" for Villa's goal - Well bad mistake by Puncheon, but then just a nice break for Villa really after that. "Lambert compared to Holt" - yawn, yawn, starting to fall asleep now, at least we see the Saints smashing someone without waiting up all night!
