Agreed - But given the takeover situation and the loan secured against her estate, it might be the perfect opportunity to pay everything off and still have the club up for sale. If and obviously a big if, that's her mind set and her decision Uncle Les won't have any say in the matter.
-
Of course the order will come from the parent company this is £70 million quid we are talking about! ....... but that's just semantics. It will come directly from KL.
-
Regardless of whether VVD has or does move, the initial reaction and backlash has been aimed at Les Reed. But the reality is that for a company valued at £210 million, he will not be the decision maker (or even an influencer if KL wants to sell) on a deal that represents a third of the total value of the club. There will be those that quote his "quiet summer "no players leaving" etc.......... but if KL decides to cash in then his hands are tied and perhaps the lesson is to say nothing.

Cheers for that - Makes sense to me ......unfortunately.

What don't you get you pathetic multi persona idiot? Kat is not making bags of money out of Saints You wanted to know "where all the money has gone" - The books show exactly where it has gone with none taken out.... All out there in the public domain and you latest come back was how much she was making on the interest rate she was charging against the loan..........LMFAO. Probably exactly the same as the interest rates she is being charged by Macquarie Bank on the loan she renegotiated (And against her personal estate) to get batter rates than the loans that Cortese took out with Vibrac..... You know the ones that he mocked and laughed other clubs for doing and proudly said he would never do.... then went and did the same. As for the original question that you responded to....... Is Les Reeds position safe..................... Of course it's ****ing safe, there are not many DOF CV's in the world that can match his record in the last 8 years. Laughing at myself now for getting wound up. If you haven't enjoyed the last 8 years, under, overseen by Uncle Les, then you should probably find a different sport or team. You change your username enough, changing team shouldn't be a problem.

At a guess, I imagine we agreed not to pursue the complaint based on the Scousers apology and withdrawal of interest

He might refuse to play now, but if and that is a f00king big if, the club stand strong, 10 seconds after the transfer window closes, he will have no choice...... especially with a World Cup not a million miles away.

VAN DIJK SEEKING EXIT Some big news from Southampton as Virgil van Dijk has said he wants to leave and is not in a fit “psychological” state to play, according to manager Mauricio Pellegrino. The defender has been linked with a move to Liverpool, and new Saints boss Pellegrino is quoted by the Daily Telegraph as saying: "The boy said that he is not available to play because he wants to leave. This is the decision. "I had to say, ‘If you don’t want to be involved because you don’t feel okay then you have to train alone until this period of time is over." Asked if Van Dijk would leave, Pellgerino said: “I repeat that the club said not. I hope that Virgil can review his feelings because you know that today a player is big business. Not just the player but behind them is a lot of interests. "I don’t want to say too much but we need the player, 100 per cent. I want to help the squad, I want to help Virgil, but we need a player, and I repeat, involved in every training session, not just with the body but with the mind on the pitch with the rest of the players http://www.skysports.com/transfer-centre

Not sure I agree with your summary - Based on my understanding .... Which could well be wrong. For me the FFP rule was all about stopping the mega clubs splitting off into a super league. If my understanding is correct, it doesn't matter how rich your owner is as wages are limited to a fixed percentage of your turnover...... Which effectively means that if Katrina wanted to buy Messi and Ronaldo for 200 million and then pay them a million pound a week on a five year contract, with all the money deposited in an escrow account .............. We still wouldn't be allowed to do it........ Unless I have missed something.

Other (non English) teams that are similar to Saints 'way' ?
Gemmel replied to eddie's topic in The Saints
I think it's only fair to remember that there was only one player the big boys wanted during that time and certainly are most valuable...... Oh and Cortese sold him -
That is exactly as I understand it.
-
He is planning on heading the purchase of the club with his very good friend Dalian Wanda :lol: As credibility goes....... you have none.
-
Absolutely correct. I've seen the "disagree" posts, but the reality is proved with 99% of matches he has played for us. Great guy a great signing, great cover, but he wouldn't get a season long starting place at any other top ten Prem club.

Better than Clyne? Not a freaking chance.

Sky Sports - No 'top' players leaving Southampton this summer.

Ummmm Someone that has to post under many different names? Did I win .... -
Agreed, although I think it was more to do with the way we worded it and presented the figures, but there is a common perception amongst some Saints (And other fans) that we have been raking in big transfer fees and the owners were taking it out, when the reality is, we were investing in the squad. As an aside, the loans we took out from the British Virgin Islands wasf rom a company called Vibrac. The two signatories on those loans (Secured against every brick, player and asset we owned) was Cortese and Rodgers. One of he very first things Katarina did when Cortese left, was to pay those loans off, with a loan from Mcquarie Bank, secured against her personal estate I'm guessing that was better terms ..... which begs the question, if she knew about the Vibrac loans - Why she didn't do that in the first place...... Unless......
-
You do realize that based on the last accounts we have spent more than we have received ....don't you ?
-
I'll swap you, your Ian Branfoot....... for the tramp on the high street.
-
Or - Giving the new manager a transfer budget - Which would allow him to X & Y or a different transfer budget if he sold a player, that would allow him to X Y & Z. Ultimately - Could he make the squad stronger than it currently is with 50 million quid or would it actually be stronger with Vigil in the team and a much much less transfer kitty. If I was the manager, I would want to be part of that decision.
-
My apologies, I thought it was you that ducked that statement last week.
