See Mintys response under mine which gives a but more detail, but this was as confirmed on radio with vine and some transport guy.

I'm not sure that the experiment is little more than just the formation right now. The kids are being played mainly down to financial constraints and the "Total football" ******** - (As in players, playing in all positions and filling in or dropping off when another player makes a run, to keep a constant shape) is non existant. So the whole experiment thing seems to come down to whether we play one or two people upfront and with the exception on Saturday, the lone striker hasn't worked. My personal opnion is that the shape should be based on who we are playing, with the manager doing his homework and having match by match tactics, under pinned with the style of football they have chosen.

I remember the whole ground singing "Bailey is a ******" . I was about 7 at the time and thought it was hilarious. Im still not quite sure what he did but i know it was from a previous match

LOL Corp, please you have been banging on about the new stadium for years now, literally years. You have been big enough to draw a line in sand time wise, so lets just wait and see.....will you return to the site, if it doesn't happen Even if i take my skate hating glasses off, it simply doesntg stack up, even if gaymark sold the club for a £1. 50 million in debt + 40 million (Gaymarks asking price) + 100 million for your new stadium. Just short of 200 milllion, before you've bought one player Everton For sale £75 million or less if new owners can prove money will go into the club...... over double your attendances, bigger history, bigger club. That's just one example, but there are many more. My prediction is that it wont happen and January and summer 2009, will see you sell your biggest assets as gayboy trys to repay the debt.

I reckon pompeys finances will continue to make the news. Unless they get bought, they have a whole world of trouble ahead of them. I'm not sure there are many billionaires out there right now willing to throw cash at a football club and if there are, surely those clubs with the infrastructure in place would be more be more appealing. From what i can make out from the accounts, gaymark hasn't put any real money in, just saddled the club with debt (Happy to be proved wrong). January could be interesting Have they started work on the new stadium corp

Ponty i know this is your area, so not disagreeing - it just seemed his speed went down a lot more than just different tyres. Regardless of ties, money talks. I am happy to be wrong but from a very novice F1 viewer, i was genuinely surprised.
-
I don't know enough about F1 to make a fully considered Judgemment (I know about different tyres etc.) but did Glock slow down on purpose? Hamilton didn't really fight off vittel considering it was for the world championship - Was there a plan B? Anyhow glad he won

Of course.........nice one (Can't believe i forgot that one)

Away from home, in the League, i think it was last season or the season before, we came from behind and won for the first time in over ten years ...so this makes it three, but i cant think of anytime weve come from two down away from home to win over to the statto's

Jeff Stelling you ****le.... Smashed the remote down after he annouced Preston had taken a 3 2 lead..... only to see mCgoldricks name come on the miny printer

For all his faults, lowes pretty could when it comes to contracts. I would doubt very much he will play.

Cheers for that, it's pretty much my take on it, but can't find any information to say for sure. If it does turn out to be correct, then whatever the plus points are to Administration, they are negated by the way our debt is structured regarding the stadium
-
Um Pahars, Do you know how administration would work regarding the stadium debt
-
They don't work if you change lane. Jeremy Vine interviewed some road minister (Or another silly title) and asked him if it was true that they only work if you stay in same lane, the guy admitted it was and Vine burst out laughing

Thanks for the execellent post St Marco. What I can't get my head around with Administration, is how it would pan out with the stadium, on which we currently owe 23 million (I think that's correct) So assumming we go into Administration, our two major credititors would be Norwich Union and Barclays Bank with a combined debt of approx 30 Million. The Administrator would sell as many players as possible, but is unlikely to generate much more than 3 or 4 million, which if paid out on a % (which i'm pretty sure it is) would see Barclays getting about 1 mill and Norwich Union getting 3. Regardless of whether Barclays accepeted this, Norwich Union obvioulsy wouldn't and could effectively repossess ST Mary's. Which would be the end of SFC. The other alternative is for someone to buy the club at x amount. Even if they offered say 15 20 million for lock, stock and barrell, Norwich Union may still feel they can get a better return by reusing the land for houses or whatever, but even if they did, it all depends on someone forking out 15 to 20 million in the first place and i'm not sure there are many of those around, so we go back to option 1. There is of course the option that someone takes on the club / company fopr nothing and inherits the debt, but if they believe they can get the club for 15 to 20 million, why would they take on 30 million worth of debt? I'm not saying the above is right or the only options available, i'm just genuinley interested in how it would all work given the level of debt on the stadium

My understanding is that the extended over draft (when it went from 1 mill to 6 mill) was secured against the future installment payments of Walcott and Bale. Now those players have both been paid up in full and the overdraft is still at over 6 mill, so i am not sure what it is secured against now

Glad to see Dave Puckett is onboard, he is a good guy and works very well with the youngsters. Pompeys academy is getting good reviews after moving up from a school of excellence as is Readings, so if he gets the chance to choose, he has plenty of options If they want him, they all operate a six week development centre and then offer him a contract after that. Gool luck to to him. Still no idea though of this elite team you are talking about though, unless it's Pace ?

Becuase they are skint and the returns and time it would take to see a return, means they could stick their money in Northern Rock and be far far better off......and anyway the fund for the "lesbian immigrants battered dogs and fish" would be deemed more worthy
-
They are gone anyway, but agree with your point that we will have more control over their sales than if we were in admin. As to what Admin means, it really depends on the structure of your debts. Given 70%+ of our debt is secured against the stadium, which we can't do without, Admin for us is very different than for many other clubs and is something i can't get my head around why fans can't understand this. Yes we could **** a few local suppliers, but nothing that means anything in the grand scheme of things. We could even restructure the loan with Norwich Union (Again), but with falling gates and lesser capacity to repay, this doesn't stack up either. There is nobody that will buy the stadium and loan it back and given the sums invloved, even if there was, the return for outlay wouldnt be seen for over 15 years and in todays economy nobody is going to give up that amount of cash for what would be a poor return, over a very long period of time espeacially in something as rocky as a football club. Admin serves a purpose for some clubs, but not for Saints. If it happens, it would hurt us harder than anyone else and The Dell might not be the only football stadium in Southampton to have flats built on it.

# I agree. What is also quite telling is that this is a complete mind shift from what he was saying even last week, in terms of promotion and play off places. It is the first time he has wheeled out "last years staying up on the last day with better players etc etc." He is a man under pressure and as you said, the fans have been pretty tolerant so far, even though i havent met any that wouldnt have changed the system ages ago...... lets just hope that the hardcore we are down to, really are just that....hardcore

If You Had To Bet On It,Will Saints End Up In Administration?
Gemmel replied to Gemmel's topic in The Saints
But we dont really know how close or we are or not .....we can guess, but that's all it is -
Take a trip upto David Llyods, in Lordshill, Jan is there a fair bit and happy to predict a play off place, even now
