  1. lots of love MM ps Thanks for Nigel
  2. That's one hell of an imagination
  3. Agreed. Played some really good stuff under him as well
  4. Barclays.... were not coming back, unless you act
  5. Um. Look up posts by Barcelona Saint. Lowe met with Jan way before he was even back at the club. Pearsons meeting with lowe was a farce. The job had already been given to Jan. Pearson would have been sacked even if they had had to pay up his contract.
  6. Shame that a message from a Saints great, gets lost amoungst the politics of today / last 5 years. Happy Christmas Ron
  7. That's it in a nutshell. Whatever your thoughts or opinions of him are, we are now (And probably have been for some time) in a situation where it is impossible to move forward. And for what its worth, for all his blustering, surely rupert knows that as well. It's whether he can make a rational business decision, in the best interests of the club and not his ego.

  10. Although it wasn't something the other directors were invited to vote on, lowe apparently offered to resign after relegation from the Prem. Would he do the same if we were relegated from the Championship and would that be the ultimate price to pay, in order for us to move forward as a club? Regardless of your view or stance on lowe, i think today has proved beyond resonable doubt, we can never move forward with such huge rifts between the fans and shareholders.
  11. Jan confirmed at AGM Stern John would be there for the rest of the season
  12. I don't think we are near administration. In the prem, 22,000 was the break even figure bandied around and then 19000 for the championship (We are a very differet squad to when this figure was first discussed)....... The squad on the payroll isn't a proper championship side and with the exception of Skachel and Ewell, most of our big earners are being paid by other clubs. We are taking on new coaches and trainees and left for the palace game on the Saturday before the monday match, (about £5,000 i reckon) every junior Saint got a parcel where the postage alone was over a £1 ....... small things i know, but not the sign of a bust club. Lowe himself has starte making mutterings about the finances now being managable with just Norwich Union left to agree new terms. Don't get me wrong, i know we are skint and have debts, but i don't think it's at administartion levels. Administration would serve no purpose for our two main creditors, so unless we have fooked the tax man over, I don't think (IMHO) that either Barclays or NU would want us or put us in adminisration
  13. Plus fours, tweed jacket and polished brogues. If you are staying for the after meeting drinks, you might want to bring your smoking jacket.

    Cocaine

Been having argument with a guy at work who reckons 75% of people aged between 21 -39 have tried cocaine at least once. Ive never tried it and never will, but that statistic can't be right can it? I've been offered it a few times, know a few people that use it fairly often, but can't believe it's 75%
  15. Fulthorpe is certainly guilty of raising peoples hopes with his constant assurances to many that a deal was all but done and even as recently as three weeks ago, was promising that teh "Money" had arrived. Ive never met the bloke or tried to buy a football club, but im pretty sure that's not the way you go about it and would now be seriously worried if he did ever pull it off. As for Saltz, i think that's very unfair to tar him with the same brush as Fulthorpe. I'm not aware of any promises he as made and seems to have kept a very low profile since he came on the scene through Crouch (I think) Lowe doesn't seem to want to use him in any capacity, so he's not really relevant anymore (a great shame imho).
  16. What time and what route do you think you will take
  17. But Jan insists we play 4 3 3
  18. No , because when you talk actual football, it reminds me of something my dog laid in the forest this morning
  19. You must have been in Scotland when Beattie played....... no complaints from this end if you stay there
  20. To be fair, they might feel the same about your daughter , for ruining their sons life
  21. So you think that Jan + 3 coaches equals less than Pearsons salary
  22. I believe Crouch is the only one that has or has offered to put money into the club
  23. Oh f o o k .......there's two of you
  24. Right, below is direct quotes from Hoddle.....will you shut the **** up now Southampton go for Sturrock after Hoddle backs off By John Ley Last Updated: 8:16PM GMT 03 Mar 2004 The ABH campaign - Anyone But Hoddle - appeared to have succeeded on the south coast last night after Paul Sturrock, the Plymouth Argyle manager, entered discussions over terms to replace Gordon Strachan at Southampton. Glenn Hoddle revealed yesterday morning that he had decided to withdraw from the list of candidates for the St Mary's vacancy because of the opposition to his potential appointment among some of the board members at Southampton, rather than that of the supporters. The news that Hoddle was being considered for a return to the club where he had a successful previous period in charge angered many Southampton fans, some of whom had claimed they would cancel their season tickets if the former England manager was appointed. Hoddle believed that the opposition among fans was not total, but decided, with good grace, to pull out from the job to avoid a split among the club's directors. The news cleared the way for one of the most highly rated managers in the Football League to be interviewed for the post made vacant when Strachan resigned last month. All that stands in the way of one Scot replacing another is an agreement on a contract and compensation for Second Division leaders Plymouth. News that Sturrock, 47, was almost certain to take the post emerged after Hoddle had explained why he had decided to look elsewhere for a return to football after his sacking from Tottenham Hotspur in September. "It's been the toughest decision I've made," admitted Hoddle. "Over the last three or four days I've come to the conclusion that it's the best decision for three parties - the club, [the chairman] Rupert Lowe and myself. It's about what's right for the club. "The one thing a manager has to have is the board right behind him. You know you're not going to have every single fan but you need the board 100 per cent and it was evident that wasn't going to evolve. "There were fans who were anti me going back but it was a small minority. I had friends at the Everton game and out of 32,000 there were about 1,700 who stood up and were against me. I don't feel bruised. I would've had a great big bruise if there were 32,000 who stood up against Everton. "It gets reported that there was a big demonstration but quite frankly it would've been a great challenge on the football front." Hoddle revealed he had received 'four or five' offers of work, including the Nigeria national team post, and he added: "I'd love to get back into the game. I've had some offers but they haven't been right. "I really feel that after just six games into the season at Tottenham I've still got the energy. There's a lot of motivation and energy inside me. In the short period of just over 10 years I've had all sorts of jobs, from England to Swindon. That's a good range of experience. "I'd like to get back in, preferably in the Premiership. There are challenges. I think I've got a wide span, including going abroad. You look at things and make a decision. "I'm relatively young and at 46 I still feel I've got unfinished business and there's a real energy to get back in and do well."
