Anybody who thought for a second that this wouln't be passed is retarded. The contracts had already been awarded and it was a done deal way before the project was bought into the public domain. And more plus points..... they are going to open the hard shoulders on the M3 and M4 because of it.

I completely agree. For what it's worth i don't think we are or have been anywhere near as fit as when Strachan was here and i am sure that was a massive contributor to our relative success under him. They can shout all the pro zone tests and results till they are blue in the face, because it's either broken or they don't know how to read the data. That might not be fair on all players, but if Mcgoldrick is showing fit on pro- zone ...............pull the plug out and save some electricty

The very same. Not a great games played to goals conceeded ratio for Saints

No sports sciencentist would advocate endurance running to the point of sickness for a footballer and actually there is someone at the club. The new goalkeeper coach Keith Granger is fairly well versed in the whole sports science thing. He used to (probably still does) run "The Garage" football training school in Winchester.

Nigel Quashie on loan (That's a guess....not a rumour)

From reading westons post from last week, he suggested that over and above Aviva and Barclays, there was one other major creditor, who was not the Inland Revenue and that if administration were to happen, it would most likely voluntary. For what it's worth i agree with you about losing confidence and reputation amoungst local tradaers, but also for the directors.

I agreed with a previous post of yours that Barclays and Aviva, would not put us in administration and had previously said the same. From the well respected posters, that regulary have the inside track, the theme seemed to be administration would most likely come from ourselves in the shape of voluntary administration, which in part would make sense, if our cash flow dried up, season ticket renewal was slow (Which i think we are all expecting) or quite simply the club ceased to be a going concern ( I think, but not sure we then have a legal duty to call in the administrators - happy to be proved wrong). However the club are saying there will be no more player sales (To raise the money you have mentioned) and Jan today is talking about bringing in new faces. This doesnt seem to me to be the actions of a club, so desperate for the next penny to keep the wolf Barclays from the door. I have no idea how much we have stopped the bleeding of money or indeed where we are financially, but I keep toing and froing as to whether i think administration will actually happen. I hope it doesn't.

Time for some good old fashioned name dropping

Really enjoyed the thread! Met a few players over the years and with the exception of Shilton, who my Dad met on a train and asked for his autograph and was told to **** off, they have all been really good blokes. Walking in Whitehart lane back in 93, Kevin Moore came up and asked if i was a Saints fan and promtly gave me four free tickets - we went 2 up and then conceded 4 (I think) in 6 minutes. Used to have our sports lessons on the common and the Saints would often come running past - My cue to ditch the game we were playing and try and keep up with them, none of them minded with the exception of my games teacher...... more detentions Had a freind that claimed his Dad, spent the night of the FA cup victory knocking out dents in the lid of the trophy, where a certain Mick Channon had spent the evening wearing it as a hat and it had kept falling off.....Never knew whether to believe that one, but some years later actually met the father, who confirmed it was all true. Attended a game in a wheelchair, as i could n't get tickets (Long story) and we had Man Utd in the cup. I used to hate Ince and Hughes as moaning bastards, but we had to be in place long before the game kicked off and guess which two players came out in there suits to speak to the disabled supporters.....Ince and Hughes, they couldnt have been nicer (Although i was squirming, as i shouldnt have been there). Actually we were winning and Hughes scored a last minute equiliser. I know we lost up there and Jimmy case was sent off, so may be that was karma and all my fault -
Happy to be shot down in flames, but i think the new plans we submitted included a cinema, which was one of the main things ESB were against as they wanted one in the town centre. I'm really not sure this is something to beat lowe with. As previously mentioned, he ultimately did deliver the stadium and whilst he made some unfullied promises as to where that would take us and what it would enble us to do, even as a now "Anti Lowe" am happy to recognise the part he played. However..............why Mr Askham ever let the "Toy's are Us" site go at a time that when the infrastructure we would of had, by the time Sky came to town, really would have let us compete, is beyond me.

Or may be instead of bringing in 3 or 4 loanees, who never play for us, start with somebody with experience from day one. Whilst cost cutting is needed and indeed necessary, the plan to date has failed miserably. Within the same cost restrictions we are currently under, i truly believe we could have acheived sigificantly more points, through a more tempered introduction of anybody under the age of 20 who can get to St Marys for 2.00pm on a Saturday.

It is going ahead, the land won't even cause any delays.

You might need Duncan for that one

Happy to win ugly - no problem at all. I hope we can move forward from here, now's not the time to make negative comments as every win this season needs to be celebrated, so enjoying the moment and having a few drink.

If it was a boxing match it would be all over Southampton arent in it - Sky

I'm sure we wouldnt let somthing like international clearance not get sorted

I was at that meeting and had a beer with a Jim Hone...... I knew i should have been a little more wary given he his polyester tie and smoking cheap brand cigarettes

Spot on. I used to drink at the Winston on the corner and with miltary precision could time my arrival in the ground to that of the two captains shaking hands. I never made that walk from the pub to the ground not believing we were going to win, no matter who we were playing. Maybe it's just nostalgia or sentiment, but I would give everything, just to see and hear the "old girl" rock again.

Stanley, your the man for this job - Go and set up a metcalf account (free) and then edit the wording on this video. We'll assume Hitler is lowe. http://www.metacafe.com/watch/yt-vP0RHPDoUYc/ronaldo_leaves_manchester_united_for_real_madrid_hitler/

Sorry ESB, i didn't word it very well, I'm assuming the market cap acts as little more than a guide when a company goes into adminstration, although i did put that unless the bid exceeds what is owed to the creditors, then i didnt think the shareholders would get anything.
-
Much more bon jovi gigs - Only joking, i agree with you! But as i mentioned and window cleaner mentioned, if the new owners could convince Aviva that they could service the debt, surely Aviva would just roll over the agreement to the new owners. As to the softer repayment terms or interest only, i'm pretty sure this has already been done once at least, as per lowe at the AGM (As to why it was so late and i think (But not sure) it eludes to something in the annual report)

10 Million for SMS. That's a hit of 13 million for Aviva. They would probably keep it or do something else with it for that, wouldn't they ?
