CLUB ACCOUNTS: 2013/14 - Saints reveal first profit
Gemmel replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
But it tells you on the image David Bence was appointed CFO and is still here (Article from him in this weeks City AM) and Gareth Rodgers was terminated as Club secretary so he could take up his role as CEO -
Completely agree

http://www.cityam.com/212830/saints-go-marching-profitability No big signings in the summer We want to leave this community asset in a better position than when we found it.” If some fans are waiting on a couple of marquee signings this summer to help the team progress, they are likely to be disappointed.

The first tranch of Liebherr loans (34 Million or there abouts) were converted into equity. The Vibrac loans were secured against every asset and future TV revenue the club had, which had a charge against the club. That has now been satisfied and there is no longer a charge. You would assume that this latest loan from Katrina will need to be repaid, but probably just been done through "Directors loans". -

It highlights the bizarre circumstances where the owners had little or no control over their own asset. The vibrac loan was always a strange one for me as Cortese mocked other clubs for doing it, stated he would never do that and went and did! The second year he did it , must have been for significantly more money as the paperwork was much more indepth and included the FA or Premier League (Can't remember which one) which I assume was to divert TV money directly to them if we ever defaulted. -

Yes there are no outstanding charges http://wck2.companieshouse.gov.uk//compdetails -
I saw this last night and assumed I was drunker than I thought. This one might take more than a pinch of salt. As mentioned above, they have just realised that the Robinson money, doesn't quite cover a new stadium, actually it doesn't quite cover a new stand, it might however stretch to a few running repairs. Obviously this isn't in keeping with their grand plans..... so the obvious answer is public funds...... (And no they are not joking) http://fansonline.net/portsmouth/mb/view.php?id=583448

My vote was undecided...... But Milliband is completely unelectable. Dear me.

Are you sure? What about Messi being insured for a 100 million a couple of years ago, or Gordan Watson getting his million pound insurance money from Bradford. -

Never understood the leaving early complaints. They've paid their money they can do what the **** they like. It worse when it is fans that haven't attended (Half of this site) start chirping in on here, when they never freaking went in the first place. Personally like to see the whole game through, but if I need to get back early for whatever reason, will go down to the tunnel on 90 mins.

Tadic's penalty last week - 350th since the war

I don't know for sure but would imagine we have the highest conversion rate in Premiership history. -
Went to Punta Mita last year and that would be a fantastic week of hotel in the beach whilst being very different to Cancun.

Mick's response on POL: Unfortunately, the first I heard about a legal bill in December was this week, so I am also confused why there were repayments after that. The statement says that my decision to resign was linked to the money being advanced to Mike Hall. This is not true. I advocated strongly for a simple statement as soon as questions were asked about it, but this never happened. No mention of the fact that the 12th man account was brought under the Trust umbrella in November 2013 as evidenced by the fact that bank account balances, including 12th man, were reported at the PST board meeting. No mention of the fact that we were told by Steve Tovey that the accounts would not be presented to the AGM at 1.28pm on 8th December, the actual day of the AGM. No mention of the fact that we were told by Steve Tovey that the audit started late and would not be completed in time when in fact the auditors had received no information from him whatsoever. No mention of the fact that on Thursday 11th December, I and a respected colleague offered to help Steve Tovey to get the accounts finished and to the auditor. He declined our help and promised to get the accounts to them on Monday 15th December which did not happen then or for many weeks. No mention of the fact that Steve Tovey resigned from the role as treasurer and from the board. His resignation from the board was withdrawn and accepted by the PST board. I consider Steve Tovey to be an honest man, a true Pompey fan, and that I believe he came to his role in PST with the very best of intentions. However, good intentions are not enough in such a role. I have never held the view that being a volunteer excused anyone from the requirement to deliver their very best regardless of their unpaid status. I believe that the fans who make up the membership of the trust deserve much higher standards, in terms of the financial management itself, in the determination of the board to hold colleagues to account and to uphold the principles of honesty and transparency. If such standards are not to be maintained, then my only option was to distance myself from such an unsatisfactory situation via resignation
