I would like to believe this is true. It's the only thing that makes sense. Enough sense to make me post for the first time in seasons!
-
Hey stranger - good to hear from you. I was just winding the skates up pretending I was in the Fratton End as they needed help selling their tickets. In fact I was watching from the comfort and safety of my sofa!
-
We're getting there for 11.30ish but go for 11.00am. we want to enjoy as much of the day as possible - the relaxed bar, atmosphere and hospitality plus just the joy of no queuing for the loos (bearing in mind I'm a girlie!) makes being there early worth it. It's a great mixture of feeling "special" ( not as in needs!) but also really part of the club. They do it well. Thanks to everyone who replied. It's me, my husband and our son - plus stepson from my husbands 1st marriage who is the palace supporter. Stepson is a really nice decent bloke. I love the thought of us all watching and supporting our teams together. I hope it will be a special day. But more special for us! Happy Christmas.

lol - hope you're right!

Going posh on Boxing Day. We've done it a couple of times before and it's a really good day. This time we have a guest, a Palace supporter. So the question is - is it OK in the corporate seats for him to celebrate if Palace score? It doesn't say "home supporters only" like on normal tickets and no-one is allowed to wear colours so I'm guessing that a small cheer and a little wave of a fist would be acceptable. Let's hope it doesn't arise. We sat in the home stands at Ashton Gate a few weeks ago and didn't have to worry about it. Sadly!

I wonder how many skates will be arrested ....

Do you think that there's any chance that when they come to us, we could sing songs actually supporting our team? I know a few Pompey supporters who were embarrassed by the fact that they were only singing hate songs towards us and nothing supporting their own team. Surely it's better for the players to hear positive songs about our team and players. Sometimes it seems like we're all more interested in hating Pompey than supporting Saints! Just saying - and I'm guessing it'll fall on deaf ears. -
City deserved the win. It seemed like they wanted it more. We could only get tickets in the home end as our allocation went so quickly. I had to register as my 73 year old mother - they were so lovely to me when I phoned the ticket office it made me feel quite guilty - but I digress. My point was that we sounded a bit subdued -I kept wanting to hear us loud and clear but I was disappointed. Was that because of where I was sitting or was the support quieter than usual? Interesting to see us from the home supporters perspective but not one I'd want to experience again. At least I didn't have to worry about celebrating a goal I guess!

As an infrequent poster, the amount of unpleasantness between fans who are supposed to all be on the same side. I used to post regularly on the old 606 boards and loved the banter between us and the other teams but don't get the bigger better fan playground stuff here. For example, if I were to be posting on a 606 board, I would be pointing out to Pompey fans this morning that these so-called great supporters still have around 20% of their tickets left for our derby match, having gone on general sale yesterday. Hilarious!

That's made me Laugh Out Loud - and at this time on a Sunday too. Thanks

Exactly what we thought. They'd sussed out the people around them before they started making a nuisance of themselves. Brave boys!

Sorry to hijack this thread but not grown up enough to start one of my own. What would you have done yesterday? Picture the scene. Kingsland Block 29. Me my husband and son sitting surrounded by quite a few elderly couples apart from empty seats directly behind us (actually very touching to see at least 3 couples who must have been in their 70s or 80s out enjoying the match together - hope we'll be like that!) Anyway I digress. Just after KO about 6 blokes come and sit behind us and start shouting BLUE ARMY (that was just a couple of times) and Come on Boro and general anti Saints chants. Just before half time, one said to another "sh!t, we're 3-0 down!". When I heard the half time score, it became clear they were Portsmouth supporters. They went to the bar before the halftime whistle and returned late after 2nd half began and continued to be objectionable. My 26 year old son turned around and said to them that he could appreciate why they wanted to come to our stadium to watch some decent football but if they chose to sit in the home supporters stand, then would they show a bit of respect and shut up or he'd get a steward to chuck 'em out. It was rather comical as one replied in a kinda sulky teenage way (they must have all been in their 30s/40s " I'm allowed to support who I want" to which my son said yes of course you are - but not here. Now shut up. Scary moment - but it worked. Would you have had them ejected? We didn't want to spoil the match for everyone around us and that would have been really unpleasant. I was really proud that my son dealt with it in such a mature way. Never thought I'd see the day!

[video=youtube;h-ZzTQpflGg] Bit long - but lady at start is Mrs Adkins. Shows them all raising the cup, including NCs son, and then the players, family and Nigel leaving "the stage" -

Thanks Tractor - he was looking for his wife and mum and dad who I spoke to. Really lovely down to earth people. I said you must be really proud of Nigel today. His wife replied "I'm always proud of him but this is just amazing. He's surrounded by very good people, it's not just down to him" An amazing day! Going posh was a real treat. Not queuing for the ladies loos for a start! -

What age to take kids to saints - vftt. was wrong
Ziggy Stardust replied to Sergei Gotsmanov's topic in The Saints
I always take my son to every match but I do worry about the noise and bad language. He's 26 and his shouting and swearing is dreadful! -
Wonder who gave 99p though.....
-
Woah - that's an amazing result! So pleased and glad to have been a part of it.

Spot the laydee - I'll be collecting too. Like the poster above, I often look the other way when someone shakes a tin at me but since SFC have been kind enough to allow Smile4Rich to be there plus it is something that benefits the local community (though hopefully a service that none of us will ever have to use), I thought the least I could do was give a bit of my time. Hopefully you guys can give a bit of your loose change. I want my bucket filled!

How sad of you to post negative stuff against Saints fans enjoying themselves on a day like today. By the time it started, the game was all but won. Harmless fun - and fun it was. Better than singing about that lot down the road! That hardly encourages our players. Lighten up!
-
How cool was that? AP wearing his Saints shirt under his suit. From a population of 200,000 - there were nearly a quarter of them at Wembley. Why was that block empty on the halfway line? Rubbish - probably the best seats in the ground (from my heady heights anyway)
-
Agree - no booing - apart from a bit of fun when Carlisle didn't join in the wave. Don't need negative threads on a day like today. Today is a great day to be a Saints supporter so just enjoy!

10 Saints go Marching In…St Mary’s to Wembley Sponsored Walk

Much impressed. Just donated. Very best of luck. -
LOL! How do you get away with it? Guess hiding behind a keyboard helps. Looks like you've kept the fact you're actually a decent chap well hidden on this board. Keep it up. Very entertaining.

Frank! Hello. Just re-discovered this site. There's lots of handbag arguing on this site, isn't there? Got one of the last 100 tickets available yesterday but I'll be Norma Nomates as husband and son got theirs ages ago
