  5. I was at a Dimplex presentation about PV (photovoltaic) a few weeks ago, and on a bright but not too sunny day their 3.8 KW PV system (as big as you can fit), with 10 x 400 watt panels, each panel just a bit smaller than a door, was producing 1.8KW of useable electricity. So on a bright sunny day you might get about 2KW of free electricity out of your 3.8 KW system. You would also get 43pence per unit (feed in tariff) and 50 % of the total certified system value at 3p per unit. The local electricity company won’t fit an extra meter to check how much electricity you export they just assume you export half the total electricity your system can produce. Have you ever checked how much electricity you use in your house, not when you have everything on but when you have turned everything off just before you go out? I have a smart meter and was a bit surprised to find I use 0.5 KW with everything off, (i.e. just fridge freezer and stand by items on) so with luck you will have about 1.5KW to export or use from a PV system. You will always use the PV produced electricity first as this is at a higher voltage than the supply voltage. As a safety feature if the supply voltage fails the PV system shuts down, so you can’t back feed the substation. Yes that means it doesn’t work if there’s a power cut!

  12. I think the Washington post can give the answer to PCFC global pulling power. As each day and hour passed, D.C. United's ill-conceived friendly with English club Portsmouth at RFK Stadium seemed to take a new and farcical turn. It began with Portsmouth's utter lack of appeal beyond England's southern shores, resulting in an announced crowd of just 8,987 for United's 4-0 victory on an oven-baked Saturday evening not fit for athlete or spectator. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/07/24/AR2010072402309.html
  13. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/Cotterill-fears-Pompey-are-at.6433364.jp Post 44 (below) is an interesting view on how HMRC are (or might be) looking at the way forward. The US/ Canadian tour Must be contributing to the £117k income as listed in AA CVA accounts. Given the otion of paying wages in the uK with no income or having an expenses paid trip generating revenue - there would be little choice. RE HMRC - The HMRC are not challenging the FC rule - they are challenging the voting rights which have been given to Football debtors who are effetcively "secured" aginast the FL share. HMRC will argue that a Creditor who is gauranteed 100% payment cannot be unsecured. Re TAX irregularities - UHY lists average Image rights payments £16m pa av amounting to averages of 33% of PFC wage bill. They will question how this can be valid given PCFC have ( had) a Commercial retail activity turnover of £2.5m to £3m. The image rights issue will be pursued via PL case. HMRC have the VAT receipts of course! The PCFC issue is how Players were paid 30% images rights when the commercial revenue generated did not warrant the payment. A specific incident of Misprepresenting tax? (alledgedly). My belief is HMRC are setting out the stall for the next court case vs OLD PCFC and it officers. I think AA has pushed the rules to his favour which is his job and the judge will see that While HMRC are valid the points raised should be dealt whith in seperate actions

  15. No it comes from a skate site (see post 6259) Two men called Balram Chainrai and Levi Kushnir loaned us £15m in September to help with costs. These two men co-founded a company called Ameris Holdings, who sold 65% of shares to Sasha Gaydamak’s father Arcadi (who has an arrest warrant out for him in France for arms dealing during the Angolan civil war. He’s been sentenced to six years but is now hiding back in Russia as they have no extradition treaty with France) Anyway, Arcadi used to be owner of Beitar Jerusalem *****il July this year) but ran into some problems with Israeli law and had his account frozen. His business partners Chainrai and Kushnir sued Arcadi for failing to buy the rest of the shares of their company Ameris Holdings as was apparently agreed, and were awarded £16m from Arcadi’s frozen accounts. They then lend Pompey £15m for apparently no reason at all…. seems like a good way of transferring cash from one frozen bank account to another active one, no?
