My Dad, would've been his 4th Wembley visit with Saints (excluding 2003)
-
I do have them, they've either got a massive problem or think they have.
-
Has anyone else had a call from the club regarding their tickets? Had a call today asking if they'd been delivered ok. I thought it odd. Surely they're not calling all ticket holders, maybe it was just a specific batch. Getting paranoid. I have my tickets.
-
Very unsmug thread for those STILL waiting for tickets

Someone from the club rang me today to see if I had my ticket. Anyone else had this? -
Bloody annoying, but lets face it, how many players do they have that are actually saleable assets? And what clubs are going to come in, spend money, and then loan the players back. If Pompey had a Rooney or Ronaldo or still Defoe, yes I can see this adding value, but they don't do they. Secondly, who can these players be sold to? Other premier league clubs only? I'd wait until the summer if I were them and get my real transfer targets.

So with the -9, and assuming they don't get many more wins, will records show them as the team getting relegated with the least points from the PL? :-D
-
That's only when they're saving money, when the price of oil goes up they pass on the costs immediately. Same with the wholesale gas markets. Bastards!
-
I agree to a point, but you've exagerated the exchange rate issue. The average exchange rate since 1972 has been .58, it's currently .66 Given the issues with the UK economy (fecked) I wouldn't say that's far away from "normal" would you? And there's no need for the condescending "I'll make it simple for you". You made a statement that the UK government were making the price of oil expensive without explaining your thought process. Now I can see your rationale behind the statement, although I think it's flawed ;-)
-
Which moves onto another dodgy SWF debate, why are they raising the prices? Global Climate Change. Of course a cynic would say to raise taxes to spend. Anyway, same thing can be said of bankers bonuses. The government (any) pay lip service to the publics anger, as they get 50% back through tax, soon to be 60%. Slash that and you only get corporation tax on that money, which I think is 20% now?
-
And car tax, which is not insignificant, but miniscule in comparison to fuel and insurance.
-
Bungle, I guess you're stuck on public transport. I agree that trains are V expensive, I think it's £13 to get to Bournemouth and back now. I used to go by train, but the connections are so awful I now drive to Bournemouth every day. If I went by train on the way home I'd get home at 7pm if I left work @ 4.45. I'm home at 5.45 at the latest in my car.

Warwick, not at all, read it again, seems clear to me. But anyway, I'll rephrase, the Tories started pushing up the price of fuel way before Labour, who carried it on under a different scheme.
-
Hey Dune, look up the fuel price escalator, introduced by the Tories in 93. 6% price rises year on year. Phased out by the Socialist scum in 99 and linked to RPI. They were pushing up prices way before Labour. Did you know that before the FPE the UK had some of the lowest fuel prices in Europe.

So answer the question Johnny, why are oil prices the "fault" of the government?
-
Stu, that 2% doesn't include those of mixed race which is also an option on the census. So the 5.5 time is not strictly correct.
-
Johnny, please do explain to a blind man why the rising oil prices are due to the mismanagement of the economy by the socialist (wtf) government? I always though oil prices were driven by the global economy rather and the cartel of oil producing nations that rise or lower production as they see fit to keep prices high (generally).

Old Pompey Blue, Peaceful, Bright & Sunny in Wonderland! 16/03/2010 11:33:15 Hockster Any new owners will be aware of the debt, besides I just think AA will strike a deal that meets with HMRC approval. They don't want to mess with him anymore! Old Pompey Blue in cloud cuckoo land, OMG. The only deal that meets HMRC approval will be 100p in every pound. lol

From the pimpey news..... After the hearing, joint administrator Peter Kubik said: 'We are very happy about what has been agreed at court today. It means we can now progress with positive meetings with the Premier League which are due to take place tomorrow.' Here we go again then. I wonder when the next board meeting of the PL is to ratify to -9. Yes it matters to me ok, even if they're sure to be relegated. It also sets an extremely important precedent for future administration events in the PL.

You might as well start smoking as well Hutch.

The FPE was ended in 1999, although obviously replaced by another method of taxation. Worst case scenario is 1% above inflation, so at best, that's a 7% rise since 08 taking a wild guess. And to keep Dune happy, it was introduced by the Tories not the loony left :-)

July 08 was $1.99, oil was $147 approx £73 per barrel March 10 is $1.50, oil is $80 so approx £53 per barrel So even with these VERY crude (sorry!) comparisons the price hike is unjustified.
