Britain is now the most over- populated country in the EU

You must have seen Logans run Whitey. I think we ought to up the age to 70 though as I'm already pasy the magical 30 ;-) -
I lived in France but worked in Geneva (only a 30 minute commute), fantastic place to live and work. Entry regulations are ok as they have a bi-lateral agreement with the EU.

In all fairness Dune, the conditions have not changed in 300 years. I'm sure both sides can take the blame for those conditions.

In fairness to Cuba Jackanory, I think they're doing pretty well given the trade ban imposed on them by the US. Don't they have some of the highest cancer survival rates in the world? I'll give you the others on the list though! The problem with Capitalism is the greed drives some people too far, just look at those Citigroup leaks as an example.

Sponsorship and Corporate Hospitality

I've not looked through the whole thread DBP, advertising space is down, but what about the revenue? No idea if the prices are up/down from last year, but surely revenue is the most important thing here? -
I sent this to a mate earlier, promised myself I'd never moan about the A31/M27 again !

I always thought it was they musn't drink the fruit of the vine or words to that effect. So beer must be ok :-)

I'm with you there Minty, it was an odd pre season where we never really played our first 11 that much. I think they need games under their belts to get some real match fitness.

I agree Dune, in April I was stuck in Lanzarote because of the volcanic ash cloud. I was there for an extra 5 days and had to shell out £700. The people with Thomas Cook etc were all upgraded from self catering to all inclusive, the only pain they had was that they had to move hotels. I've still not got my £700 back from Monarch who are being real assholes. I provided all of my receipts and they sent it all back asking me to complete a 5 page form. The questions on there look like they're trying to push the costs onto other people even though it's their responsibility. That said, I did get 7 days AI in Lanzarote for £1600 for a family of 5. Cost through Thomas Cook etc was about £2500!

Thing is, Bath travel have an excellent reputation and make money from a variety of sources including cruises. Not sure about Goldtrail, but Kiss was started after XL went pop with some of the same directors or senior leadership using the same routes. Who didn't learn from their lesson!

None of the 9 were pathologists from what I understood from the radio. I listened to someone last night on Radio4, the explanation he gave given all the evidence was quite clear. There was no sign that Kelly was murdered. If it were a faked suicide, why not slash his wrists cleanly so he bleed to death more quickly? There was no sign of toxins in his body apart from coproxamol or co-codeine. There was no subcataneous (sp?) brusing, only bruising was on his knees, as you'd get from kneeling down for a long time. There was a quite a long piece on this in interview form, have a listen for yourself on PM. We'll never get to the bottom of this conspiracy theory I'm afraid, same as JFK and Diana.

http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/news/8333601.Child_porn_downloader_escapes_jail_sentence/ Plain wrong, it would devastate my family business and I've "got treatment" guv honestly. He was downloading and distributing child porn for 4 years, not just a few times. What is the British justice system coming to?

I stand corrected then. From your previous posts on the subject I was under the impression that you thought most of the wrongs @ SMS we due to Cortese. From my own perspective, there are no rose tinted specs, just trying to step back and seeing that Camera's issue is with more than one person at the club. As WSS pointed out when things change a percentage of the employees at that org are disaffected. This happens in every organisation; the disaffected staff are the ones whose voices normally get heard. I'm seriously interested to know from the OP by Camera, which decisions NC has made and then back tracked on. To the point where he/she would leave their job.
-
Hypo, my only comeback on your statement would be Camera left "mainly down to certain people there, Cortese included, and not liking the way the club is being run". So it's not just NC that he/she has a problem with is it.
-
How many times do we hear these stories from "insiders" at all companies not just SFC. There will be unhappy campers in every company surely? Camera, not backing Cortese, just noting that it's usually unhappy voices that are heard over those who are content. We also had these things said about Hoon, Dullieu (sp?) etc when they came in and made difficult decisions. Camera, why would these sort of decisions make you leave SFC? Are they having a direct effect on on you as an employee? Could you give an example of a stupid decision that has made you leave your job @ SFC? I'm not trying to be argumentative, just interested on how NC is having an impact on normal employees.

If true then I believe this is an excessive charge. I can't see anything on the OS travel cluib section in regards to this and can't be bothered to phone up as I never use the travel club. Is there not the option for users to the TC to park at some of the other pick up points for free? If the coach stops at Fleming park (I believe it does) just park there for free! There must be other free parking close to SMS and the other stops en route?

I work in Bournemouth, so it's got to be a strong side, please! In all seriousness, I agree with one of the other posters in regards to the pre season; the first XI have not had alot of time together so far so I think we should play as strong a team as possible.
-
ESB, you've forgotten the "these youngsters aren't ready to step up into the full squad yet" bleating.

Bringing home the bacon...

Never bothered when I worked in Geneva, too much hassle. Just used to pay the extra from the local Brit supermarket. Carrefour and a couple of other large chains caught on though and started stocking all sorts of world foods in their own aisle as Tesco now do. -
I'm sure there are lots of organisations that have CEOs that take no notice at all of advice given to them. That could be applied to every layer of management in any org! On a different more rambling note, I think that NC or someone like him has alot to offer to "professional" game, especially the FL and FA. For all Dave Whelan's failings I agree that the FL and FA need to be run by professionals. The people already involved in the game are never going to like change. NCs letter to the other chairman of the FL saying we shouldn't be accepting the 48m in parachute payments was entirely correct. In 3 years time no one will be getting promoted to the premier league, it'll be a closed shop given the massive sums given to the clubs coming down, they'll all yo-yo.

Thanks for the clarification Hypo. Which begs the question, just how hard can this Italian be to work with ;-) Seriously, would be interesting to understand the type of disagreement. Contractual, money, timelines, quality of work.....
-
This might have more legs if the individual had no previous association with the club. You've been bought in to do a job by the owner and you consult old board members? I don't think so. That said though, given the character portrait given by some people on here NC wouldn't take the advice anyway.
