  1. Stage 1 of the regeneration of the area could be under way soon. Council are going to be vacating the recycling centre down opposite the Chapel pub. Not sure what the plans are now, but they wanted to open a snow dome there. I can see some legs in these plans. A few more incidents like the pompey game and the car showroom will move ;-)
  2. Gold (going for)
  3. There's no catch to this, plenty of companies doing it. I read an article the other day though, if you get a say 20K loan over x years (can't remember how many) @ 7% you'd be better off taking that approach. The system would pay for itself and the loan over 20 years. The 20K loan is a stumbling block for most people, but is the better option.
  4. I think it's @ 15:25 (start), probably about 15:45 before the waffle ends.

    Vegas

Off to Vegas on Thursday, any shouldn't miss "experiences". I've got a couple of other guys who've been before but would like some independant voices. Obviously will do the hotels, might do Grand Canyon trip. Any advice on clubs of the ladies and normal varieties also, dress code for said establishments? Any other tips greatly appreciated.
  6. So you're telling me the GLOBAL recession driven by subprime in the US is Browns fault? As for QE, I'll submit to the BoE for their guidance on the merits of that to be fair.
  7. Fast (show)
  8. Read it again Nick, I said I think he did a very good job of steering us through the recession. A better job than I believe Osborne and co would've done.
  9. Obviously there's alot to the points you've highlighted NickG, you know exactly what Saint_Donovan was saying though. There not a lot to expand upon, two guys had an argument, one hit the other with a glass or bottle and he needed medical attention.
  10. Not as far as we know, bailed again. Don't let that get in the way of some of "us" wanting to lynch him though. Even when charged there's the small matter of going to court in x months time and being found guilty.
  11. Dune I agree with some of the stuff above, but don't have the time to deal with every single issue. What I will say in their defence is I personally believe that the recession could have been significantly worse without the leadership that Brown showed. For all his faults (many), I really do believe we were better off under his stewardship than if we had Osborne at the helm from 2008 - 10 What I will say is that WE, the British public also caused some of this you know. Why did the retail banks and mortgage companies keep lending astronomical amounts of money, because in the UK we're obsessed with wealth, houses and "stuff" (Cars, label clothes, etc). This obviously also applies to the Americans. We borrowed too much, now we're paying the price. Consumer attitudes and our attitudes to debt have to change. Lets stop believe that housing is a way to make money and start thinking it's somewhere to live.
  12. They were implying that companies wouldn't be able to afford staff not that the slackers couldn't afford to come off benefits. Anyway, we've never had full employment so it's a moot point.
  13. Lets get things straight here, that was a Lib Dem policy, the Tories would've never have gone for it, unfortunately for them they were over a barrel with their kegs down. Don't forget the Tories are the party who opposed a national minimum wage as it would costs hundreds of thousands of jobs.
  14. I am Citizen Smith
  15. I've not read the whole thing yet thorpe, but I do think teachers are getting the rough end of the stick as their pension program is already self financing is it not? It's a bit harsh given some of the other public sector pensions out there. FAQ on public sector pensions.....I stand corrected. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-10912958
  16. But it's the same argument as someone being in the 40% tax bracket and having their child benefit taken away. If you're well paid in your working life, have a good pension, own home and nest egg why should you get these benefits when they're not necessary? And apologies to you Whitey if you said removing CB is not a good idea for 40% tax payers.
  17. Fonzarelli
  18. Not seen any thread on this, I know Bmuff have sold their 3200, how many have we sold so far? A Bmuff fan at work reckons we'd sold out large sections now, not sure how he knew. 26,000 would be a great attendance in my eyes.

  20. OK, lets amend that to in "recent times". The scientologists are here and now.
  21. In fairness to Wade, he said no one in the unions told him how to vote. He had a vote as a union member and voted for whom he wanted to, in his case DM rather than EM.
  22. They were obviously all following the MLT pre-season training regime. Another burger and chips please ;-)
  23. While we're at at is leftback an ex player with an axe to grind who might have rented his house out to an SFC employee?
  24. I thought that Lambert was overweight and unfit when he came to SMS. Sure that was the comment from SFC and Lambo himself.
  25. I see where you're coming from Bexy but I don't ever remember the Christian based religions employing the methods used by these nutters. Constantly filming the BBC guy where ever he went, WTF. Cutting people off from their family members if they choose to leave the "religion". Signing yourself up for life. Not being able to have a child while in that section of the "church". Paying to move up a level! Fecking weirdos the lot of them.
