  1. I wondered how long it would take for the cretin to appear.
  2. More government borrowing surely?

HMV results out today, -16% YOY sales in stores open more than a year and more debt (did I hear doubling?). Not looking too good at the moment, seems like the next four weeks are critical......
  5. Problem is it's not only upto us, the price has to be agreed with the visiting team.
  6. http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/12/07/wikileaks_assange_arrested/ Assange arrested this morning.
  7. Agreed, they've said nothing official, but that could also be viewed as a positive. I'd be surprised if they were to go against their fathers wishes and sell the club. I'm assuming that they're not short of a bob or two so there's no need to sell if the club is self financing.
  8. I don't get this one, why is Stacey Slater a weird crush? She's not unattractive, Janine, I'll give you that one.

28 due to grade and length of service. 25 days for new starters.
  10. Rhona from Emmerdale
  11. Out. Moot point now
  12. Crowd trouble - not the issue, they're at it in Russia all the time oh and they're RACIST as well. Snow - Yeh, always snows in July ;-) Lets spell it out - NO ONE LIKES ENGLAND.
  13. 45 - 50 degrees. They're going to air condition the stadia!
  14. I bet Blair could've pulled it out of the bag, fcking Cameron ;-) I agree Thorpe, lets just forget it until Blatter is pushing up the daisies and the corruption that is evidently there has gone (probably never).
  15. 1549: England bid ambassador and BBC presenter Gary Lineker has confirmed that England were knocked out in the first round of voting. They came fourth out of four. I'm stunned. ****ing LAST! Now I know we're banging on about how great we are, but LAST!"
  16. Wasn't that bothered about 2022 but glad the yanks never got it. They had '94. Preference would've been Australia.
  17. While we're at moaning, all of these joint bids should be kicked the **** out. If you want to host you do so alone.
  18. Stay corruption free, you have to be free of corruption in the first place :-) Wikileaks said it all, Russia is becoming a mafia run state. I say lets not bother to try again until the corrupt officials in FIFA are kicked out.
  19. Sorry TDD you're wrong on this one, there are lots of layered controls that could be put in place to stop this sort of data removal. No military installation should have write access to USB devices (keys, ipods, hard drives) and write access to CD/DVD drives should be disabled. Email systems should have filters in place although this would be more challenging. No users should have admin rights to their desktops or laptops. Systems where this data is stored should have logging and tracking software in place to look for malicious activity. Access to gmail, hotmail, facebook etc should be blocked. Oh BTW, these controls are in place in 100's of normal companies that I've been to. By all means give people access to the data they're allowed to see, but not download it from systems and distribute it.
  20. Anyone see the program last night? An interesting insight into how the police marshall demos. A couple of the plod were OTT in how they dealt with the public but in general decent policing. Had to laugh at the comment that the UAF were the sort you'd see at Glastonbury, where as the EDL were football related with links to C18 and the BNP. Although there were 52 arrests for the UAF they were really pathetic offences, saw worse at the end with the hardened EDL trying to fight the police dogs and riot squad but strangely few of those guys got arrested. If that's your typical EDL supporter I'm sorry EDL guys, it's one hell of a racist organisation even if your intention is only to fight back against radical Islam. Take the muppet very early on "no more ****ing stinking mosques" or similar words.
  21. would've preferred an away game, always a great occassion in the 3rd round.
  22. Whitey I've done my research, yes they were tied to Sterling but from '79 to '99 the punt wasn't. So I stand by my original comment, although you're correct they used to be tied to Sterling! God it's a slow Friday at work
  23. Dune not all Labour supporters are as blinkered as you. You'd never credit the marxists/communists (I thought I'd save you the hassle of changing it from Labour) with ANYTHING they did, far too entrenched in your views. I actually like a few of the ConDems idea about schooling that came out (others sucked), and that's from a man who has NEVER voted conservative.
  24. The punt was not Sterling or am I mistken? Was the punt tied in with Sterling from an exchange rate perspective?
  25. Well there are quite a few Minty (threads), this was the longest I could find and I gave you the honour of the last word ;-)
